Based off of player feedback, we are discussing the possibility of not implementing the rake changes for $3/6 and $5/10 NL, and will make a decision in the morning.
Hi Party Rep,

Thank you for responding in this thread re: the rake changes.

I am one of a number of long-time regular players at Party's 3/6 and 5/10 games. I have played somewhere in the range of a million hands at those stakes alone and many more at 2/4. I would very much prefer to continue to play at Party. This is the reason for the protests. Implementing these changes will certainly result in the removal of many hundreds of thousands of dollars from Party poker to other poker sites that charge significantly less rake at the same stakes. Increasing the rake by ~50% is only related to earning Party ~50% more money.

Please note that the protest will continue until there has been a resolution of this matter. In 4 years of playing on Party I can say without hyperbole that this is by far the biggest mistake that Party has made, if it goes through as planned. This will reduce the number of games on Party sharply and will strongly discourage anyone from ever starting a game.

If you would like to speak to me directly you can contact me on 2+2 and I can speak over skype or telephone.

best,
Tim

The 5$ rake was a bargaining chip. High level thinking from party.

+1

Genius,.

Make something as absurd as 5 dollar rake and people focus on that and active people protest(like harangutang). Then they can reverse it, as they "listen" to the poker community. And keep the weighted contributed rake.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Re: ***OFFICIAL PartyPoker Thread***

PartyRep, its good that you are deliberating about the changes to the 3/6+ rake cap, but that is not enough. You are still royally screwing HU players, and especially lower limit guys (50, 100, and 200) guys for whom rakeback makes up a large percentage of their winnings. These players also are the ones putting in more volume as they need to to make a decent amount of money. I am one of them, and was planning to be putting in 100k+ hands per month at your site, but with this change and my RB dropping by 20+%, I can no longer justify staying there over going to stars and will be leaving very shortly.

Re: ***OFFICIAL PartyPoker Thread***

I'm a little drunk right now so maybe this is stupid. But if they really wanted to make the rake 'fair' then the winner of the pot is the one who really pays all the rake right? So the winner should get all the points for that rake. The losers of the pot got the same outcome as if they were playing rake-free poker, no matter how much they contributed to the pot.

But this is obv just a side issue to the main problem that is the new caps.

Yes, +1 how isn't it obvious that it's the fairest way ?

PartyRep, please realize that Party have worse software, worse rewards, less tables and worse support than major competitor. As you saw you are losing customers despite thousands of players being homeless after FTP crash. If you want to attract customers you should make your site... attractive... you know...

For now you are losing battle even with iPoker depite iPoker having the worst software imaginable and complete lack of support and security. They are winning over Party, because they have lower rake. Just think about it, what is better for you, maybe the answer is actually in lowering rake and making your site competitive instead of raping last handful of regular players you have. if people start playing on Stars in january they are not coming back, because they will be too committed to reward system there. You actually have only 3 months to convince them to stay.

We were able to remove the rake changes for $3/6 and $5/10 levels from the release. Therefore, no changes will be made to the rake structure of those games.
We appreciate the player feedback.

You guys are already clipping us for a ton more rake at low limits than Stars or FTP did.

$10/20 is also remaining the same. The entire proposed change has been reversed.

Re: ***OFFICIAL PartyPoker Thread***

Yes, please dont give those vaguely worded answers

I dont care about 10/20 in more than a 'then they came for me and there was no one left way. If my RB has been cut to 2/3 I cannot justify staying.

Also, there is ridiculous lag today.

Sorry for the confusion.

The release today changed the rake method on PartyPoker.com from 'dealt' to 'weighted contributed'.
The release did not change the $3/6 NL/PL (and up) cash game rake structures.
This page is up to date with the PartyPoker.com rake: http://www.partypoker.com/how-to-pla...structure.html
