Bugsy's Club closes and transfers to Stars - Internet Poker

Bugsy's Club, an offshoot from Pokerpages ceased operations today. All accounts were frozen and apparently balances will be available for transfer to Pokerstars sometime later today.

Yea, I was disappointed to see that too (played on bugsy for free for a while, built up a roll), but in a way I'm glad since I can finally cash out on PokerStars.

Their software was among the worst out there. Their room had died and their management had flaked lately. This was coming, it was just a matter of when. Luckily players get their money instead of other sites that just vanished.

I just joined Bugsy last week and was actually winning there. I was playing there last night and this morning. On the tournament list the games where starting to disappear last night and then this morning the sit and gos where disappearing after the games where finished.

There was no warning from management. People where playing and starting to get scared about their funds.

I tried to log in I was directed to a page explaining why they closed. People will be able to transfer their money on Wed. to Poker Stars.

It might be prudent to note the following text from the transfer page:

"PLEASE NOTE: According to the terms of PokerStars' agreement with BugsysClub, you will be required to play in PokerStars real money games before you can withdraw or transfer funds transferred from BugsysClub to PokerStars. Please read the Terms and Conditions and the Account Transfer FAQ carefully before submitting your transfer."

But, there is no other option, right?

It's a shame, software wasn't great, but then again either was the competition. Games were fishy and friendly.

And, at least they've done the right thing in transferring accounts.

Just checked out Poker Stars

Your account will be semi-frozen (let's call it slushy) until you earn enough points. Semi-Frozen - you can use the account to play, but not to withdraw or transfer.

Basically before the 'deadline day' which will depend on how much in your account you need 5 points for every dollar transferred. Once you hit the magic number, it's your account. If you don't hit the number by the deadline day, you forfeit whatever portion of your acct is not covered by the points you've earned.

Sooooooo ..... this means you basically have to earn your account back through play.

This whole play before withdraw thing is pretty ridiculous. So basically for me to unlock $500 to take out I have to earn 2500 VPP. WTF

This is ridiculous. Pokerstars acts like they are doing some great service and you should be grateful to have to get 5VPP/$1 or whatever, when in reality they are making big money off of this. There is no other option available, and they will be getting way more play out of this from people that do not cash out their balance and never play to offset any withdrawal costs associated with those who do.

I would not be surprised to find out that Bugsy's didn't have enough money to cash everyone out and Stars is making it up for them. I can think of no other reason to require play to get your money.

+1 on this considering how many people probably started their accounts from the freerolls they had back in the day. overall it was a pretty ****ty site IMO but theyre freerolls is what got my roll started.

also, dont u get a whole year to clear the required number of VPP´s. i dont really see a huge problem with that since PS is infinately better then bugsys anyway.
