cashed a check at a little kwik stop abt 2 wks before black friday. Got a call 2 days ago from owner that it came back stop payment, not nsf, stop payment. Faxed copy to bodog, awaiting response. Been a player there since '05 and am completely confident they will make it right but nonetheless it is unacceptable and a huge pain in the ass.

Are there any success stories with these recent checks?

I received this in my bank today. My bank charged me 15$ to receive the wire transfer. That's in addition to 30$ for quicktender. I don't know how much the max is, but it's at least a little more than the 3k for a bodog check.

Received a check on 4/5, deposited on 4/13 (lol laziness) and it hasn't been returned yet. Still a week at least to sweat it though.

I've searched and can't find an answer to my question, although see that it was posted back in December and Justin said admins were workingon it:

I play SNG and get up to 4 tables going no problem. Then when one closes I try to open another but it tells me I already have 4 open. I keep trying and eventually after 5-25 minutes I can open a 4th again.

Is there a solution or work around? I can go open a cash table and play but it wont let me open a new tournament. Even after I close the cash game after playing a round of blinds and go back to the sitngoes, it still won't let me open a 4th. So frustrating

Thanks

What day was that requested on? I requested one 4/15, still waiting for a tracking number, was told I would get it this week had been delayed by the Easter holiday. Delayed vs my usual Bodog checks, assuming its probably just Black Friday volume.

I cashed out $600 about 3 weeks ago but still have not deposited it into the bank because I'm in the process of getting a mortgage and I have to prove where ALL of my income is coming from. Do you guys think I will be able to wait 6 more weeks to cash this check? It will be about 3 months from the day I received until I cash it. Seems like I might run into some issues.

yea I would guess your going to run into some issues cashing a 3 month old check. my lender told me I couldn't have any "big" transactions (1k+) but that I could do them as long as I could prove they were from the sites and not my realtor

Jim, make copies front and back of the check, and print the matching transaction history from your client to back it up.( date and amount ) As long as the income is not needed at all to support your debt to income ratio and you qualify without it, you should be fine. Do not give them anything the underwriter does not ask for.

another idea is to just open a new bank account at another bank, or the bank that the check is drawn off of even, and then deposit it in that account. you can just "forget" to tell them about this new account...?

right?

edit: or you can just cash the bodog check at the bank its drawn off for CASH. then hold the cash at your house until the refi is finished.

But isn't it illegal for banks to process money from online "gambling" transactions? I'd rather keep this on the DL until I finish buying the house. I think I'm just going to go to the bank tomorrow and cash it. Use it for gas money or something.

No, it's not illegal for the bank to process your check.

See the forum thread here.

The relevant excerpt (with my emphasis added):

Quote:
Does my bank have to monitor my customers' accounts to make sure that they are not gambling illegally on the Internet?

No. Your bank must "…establish and implement written policies and procedures reasonably designed to identify and block or otherwise prevent or prohibit restricted transactions." Under the final rule this means:
Your bank must establish written policies and procedures to screen unlawful Internet gambling businesses (casinos) from opening an account at your bank.

...snip...

Your bank is not required to block ACH, wire, or check payments related to unlawful Internet gambling to be in compliance with the Final Rule.

Exactly.

Now, if your bank account is at the same place you are getting your mortgage , I too would be hesitant.

If not, the underwriter is NOT going to tell on you, lol.

I have a question. Does anyone get a check without getting emailed a tracking number? I req check on 4/13, was approved within hours, after that haven't heard anything, just hoping each day to come home to a nice piece of mail haha. The email approving it said I would get a tracking # a few days before it got here. ?? Today would be the 8th business day, they said avg of 7, so I am not worried yet, just wondering when I should check in with them. Thanks folks.

Edit: I see a few posts ago Gambol has a similar situation. I figured that my req came on the Wednesday before Black Friday, and my stuff should have been out of the way before things really got crazy!

I have many times gotten a check before I got the tracking number, with Fed EX.

I have never had it happen with usps, which takes a lot longer.

I am sure you are aware, since you forsee possible issues, but for the benefit of others who may not have read this section in the Payout FAQ on Bodog:

Quote:
Please note, checks we issue may become stale-dated and uncashable after a 3 month timeframe. This is not always the case but we do encourage you to deposit a check you receive as soon as possible. Additionally, if a check is lost or misplaced, a Stop Payment will need to be requested which will result in a Stop Payment Fee being charged.
