I assume this is bull**** and that people have deposited with CCs and WU and have check/WU withdraw both as options?

So unreal having to deal with this level of customer support, especially when you need a translator to talk to them on the phone.
This has been the standard for years. Whoever told u that u could WU once and then have that available either got some special treatment or misguided you. I wouldn't give up on CS, be nice, ask for supervisor, tell them checks won't work for you and that you have tried. They will tell you not to try check cashing stores(at least that's what they told me) and since that limits your options they might work with you. Worked once for me.

. I would love to know details on this check , I just deposited one today and teller said this could take a while to clear, do u want me to call you when it does? I said no and then he said it shouldn't be to long. I don't know what to expect from it , it was a Canadian Check Requested 12/11 , received 1/3

as mentioned, foreign checks are a pain in the A and this is standard for 100% foreign checks

tell Blowdogvada you do not find a foreign check acceptable

Just called and they were very nice and thorough however they said they cannot guarantee that the checks will not be from offshore.

I understand obviously, just very annoyed that we still have to deal with this **** living in the US.

I really get the sense they're trying to discourage good poker players from playing by ****ing them over with foreign checks. Use good US processors for the few donks that manage to cash out.

Just a hunch, but no factual evidence obv.

Last October Bodog sent me checks from an Asian country that looked very foreign and shady but the currency was USD and they cleared fine. I can't remember for sure, but I think they did have a US bank name on them, as well as a foreign bank name. So these problematic foreign checks that some of you are dealing with now do not have any US bank name on them anywhere? Is this correct?

It is looking more and more like it's the consistent winners who are getting these foreign checks. This is despicable.

Mine had no U.S. bank name at all. It looked like the type of check someone might get for selling a kidney or helping force someone into white slavery.

I tried to deposit a check today that was from the Bahamas. My bank said they had to send it to "collections" and they said it would take 4-6 weeks to get my money and they charge $50 fee.

I received checks from Asian banks with a US bank also on the check and have never had an issue before.

I'm not too pleased about them sending checks that have to be sent to collections and incur bank fees. It's probably too early to say it's not just a coincidence that it's happening to a lot of consistent winners so I don't have any problem with my post being deleted, fair enough. It's just an observation. I've been playing on Bodog and reading this thread for a long time, I'm not trying to make sh*t up. I was as loyal to Bodog as anyone but when they make public statements about net winners being "predators" who they now don't want on the site, make drastic changes to the poker game they offer without warning, and suddenly start sending checks that can't be cashed normally... anger and disgust are going to be part of the reaction. SORRY.

don't be sorry for being angered and disgusted. Be sorry for having an expectation level that is unrealistic in the current climate. Be sorry for making outlandish unsubstantiated claims based on random observation. I'd be happy to see the evidence of "rare" winners getting U.S. checks. Checks have been a problem here and there for while. And no, this is not an observation on your part. It is your guess fueled by emotion and not based in any significant statistics.

I didn't make any claim. I said "it is looking more and more like...", right after seeing yet another person ITT, who has allegedly won a good amount, say they had just received this NEW type of problematic check. I have never heard of Bodog sending a check that was not connected to a US bank, that banks are sending to collections, so it is reasonable to say this just started happening since the rebrand. It is also reasonable to say some people are still getting checks drawn on US banks, based on recent reports ITT. Some people are currently getting checks from processors that use US banks and some people are getting the new foreign checks that cause hassle, major delays and fee's. And some of whom getting the latter are people I know fall into the net winning reg category. It is logical to believe that a casino who does not want winning players would take measures to drive them away and I think there is a chance they are sending these foreign checks to people they want to drive away. I should have said, "It would be despicable if they were doing this to drive away winning players." IMO it is a reasonable guess and reasonable to say it is starting to look that way.

Welcome to the forums. That's probably a little too much information about the specific appearance of your check though, for the same reason you don't want to post any bank names.

in before I am suspected of having connection to this first time poster, lol.

I regret even getting into this guessing game. The foreign checks could have to do with changes in industry climate, as Boobaloo mentioned. I have no idea. Speculation is probably pointless at this point.

I've cashed out four times since October and haven't received one foreign check. Currently waiting on two large checks.

Requested 12/19
Requested 1/4

I just received a foreign check with a large US affiliate bank that I don't have an Acct with. Should I go to that bank and try to cash it or try to deposit into my local bank with which I do have an account (another large US bank)?

Thanks

Just for the record:
Req. 12/15
App. 12/16
Rec. 1/5

DHL called me yesterday to let me know it would be delivered in 1-3 business days fwiw, never received a tracking # by email.

req 12/12
approved 12/12

still no tracking number or anything as of today.Expecting tracking number next week hopefully

cousin requested 12/11
approved 12/12

tracking number received : 12/30
not sure if received check yet

have the last of my roll requested as check. Don't like anonymous tables. Switching to BlackChip Poker with Rakeback. I could have made a lot more if bodog/bovada had rakeback.

I am anxious to see the difference in play. Preflop will be a whole different game now.
