The important thing is that you have screenshots showing the address that you requested a withdrawal sent to.

Even in the unlikely event they were to screw up it's simple to prove that no bitcoin was sent to your address.

They wouldn't be able to falsely claim that they sent the transaction when everyone else in the world can verify whether that's true or not. So I trust that they would make it right.

Very weird situation occurred this afternoon. My Bovada account was apparently hacked but it seems a bit fishy. Details:

2:30pm today I get an email from Bovada that my entire balance had been withdrawn. It wasn't me. I didn't notice the email until about 4:30pm, so I go to login to my account through the poker client and apparently my account had the email changed, so my username was no longer active. I previously used c*******0@yahoo.com, and the email on my account had been changed to c*******0@mail.com, an email I do not own. So when I contacted support, they kept telling me my Yahoo email wasn't associated with any account (despite me getting a withdraw notice and a "Cash bonus" notice 30 minutes later to the Yahoo account). This obviously spooked me out, but luckily I had a withdrawal reference number that allowed them to see my account username had been changed. In addition, the "hacker" had changed my phone number on the account to a random landline in South Carolina - they wouldn't give me the actual number - and they told me there was a login to the account right around the time the withdrawal was made from an IP around Dallas (I'm in San Antonio). In addition, the "hacker" would've been required to know my Yahoo email login, and my mother's maiden name. Apparently, the hacker was 100% sure what my mother's maiden name was because the rep told me they guessed it on the first try. Now, regarding my email... Yahoo shows zero traces of anyone other than me logging into the email. There is a log that shows all logins and it's all me. So, unless the "hacker" logged into my email and somehow erased his history of logins, Yahoo says no one has logged into my Email other than me, including any activity at or around 2:30 pm when the withdrawal happened. I don't know enough to determine the plausibility of this. I had just deposited on Bovada for the first time in years 24 hours before all this happened. My computer was off. I have much more valuable poker accounts with info on my computer that was not compromised - in fact Bovada was the least valuable. It's just all around a very fishy situation. I'm curious what the communities thoughts are. Thanks.

Well you have calmed me down. I emailed them when I learned of this earlier tonight. Even though I've gotten a few successful payouts from them in the past, this is all digital and I would've guessed they could easily scam me/not care if they ****ed up.

If anyone cares I contacted Ignition through chat. They say the funds are safe however are taking a long time to get to me due to "the high volume of Bitcoin withdrawals sent out". CSR didn't have a time frame for how long it can take. Has anyone experienced this before?

I apologize for my posting last night I think I was just scared I messed up somehow on my end. I'm fine with waiting a couple days.

Just got an email saying that there was a technical issue and the 750 is back in my account. Well lets try this again lol.

My receiving address on Electrum begins with a 1. From reading this thread, I see that it should begin with a 3. When I try to re-download the standalone version of Electrum, I get a message saying that the unsafe download was blocked by windows defender smartscreen. When I turn off my firewall, I still am unable to download.
I use the bitpay card, windows 10. Is the mycelium wallet easy to use and does it work with bitpay card?

Yes, if you follow directions better than me, easy to use. Yes it works with Bitpay card. See post #27701 and posts that follow by EndTheFed.

Last edited by goodsaint; 02-14-2018 at 09:26 PM. Reason: My addresses also start with 1. Have cashed out 2x with Electrum.

If you, or anyone, is running a version of Electrum older than 3.0.5 you should upgrade because there was a security issue in older versions.

Did you type in the address, and check to make sure it was correct? There are many phishing sites that give malicious copies of the wallet that will steal your bitcoin.

But if you're sure that you're on the real website... ELECTRUM (dot) org... then it should work. I just tested and was able to download the standalone with Windows 10.

Once you have the software creating a new wallet with addresses that start with a 3 is simple.

Repost of set up guide: https://imgur.com/a/iTxXr

Hopefully that ends up working because it is the best option and will help save you the most on transaction fees. But if for some reason it won't work... yes, Mycelium will also work with the Bitpay card.

Hi guys,

Was a grinder prior to Black Friday but went back to the real world post. Recently began playing again and I'm excited with what I'm hearing about Ignition but I have no experience with cryptocurrency/bit wallet and could use some recommendations on how best to proceed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Cmon bro, just do a little bit of google search. The information you are looking for has been written/made into videos countless times on the web. Even searching this specific thread should help you get exactly what you need as it has been asked more than 30 times. Not to be rude but I’m sure that how most of us feel here.

cliffsnotes:

- get an account with coinbase and gdax (same company, two different interfaces. Gdax is better to use bc they charge less in fees), make sure ur "nickname" is the same name as the name on ur bank account. this is where u will purchase bitcoin (btc) when u deposit and cash out to ur bank acc. from when u withdraw.

- u have to use a personal btc wallet in between them and ignition (ign). electrum is recommended. setup guide here: https://imgur.com/a/iTxXr

U will buy on coinbase/gdax (u will find some great gdax tutorial video links in one of my posts in the last 5 or 10 pages of this thread), then send to ur electrum wallet, then send to ign to deposit. when u withdraw, it will be the same, but in reverse.

once u get familiar with everything, it will be easy. at first it may seem like a bit of a learning curve and look complex. just get started and ul pick everything up along the way. post back with any questions. GL

Greatly appreciated, this is totally foreign to me so this is very helpful.

Also to be clear, when it comes to making the transactions I will manually go into those sites linked in above link to see what the current climate is to minimize transaction fees correct? I'm sure this will be easy once all is said and done but this is intense for someone just looking to play poker

i'm not sure what u already know, but whenever u send btc, u pay a miners fee, and u will manually check to see what the optimal fee is at the time u send. the only time u have to do this is when u send out of ur wallet (electrum):

when u buy btc, like when u want to deposit on ign, u will buy on gdax and then send to ur wallet (electrum). in this case, gdax covers the miners fee (apparently - i haven't done it but this is what i was told), so u don't have to pay a miners fee for this step. then u will send from electrum to ign, at which time u will pay a miners fee.

when u withdraw (from ign), they will send btc to ur electrum, and they will cover the miners fee. You will then send that btc from ur electrum to gdax, and again u will pay a miners fee. then u just cash out from gdax to ur bank account (no miners fee).

all that to say: the only time u need to worry about miners fees is when ur sending out of electrum, either to ign or to gdax.

the calculating fees part is the most involved part of the process. if u go look at all that stuff right now it will probably look like gibberish (same for gdax). once u understand it, however, it will be easy.

if i were u, i would just get my gdax account set up, then follow that electrum guide one step at a time. everything u need to know about miners fees is in there. when u get to the fees part, it will take a few minutes to understand it, but then, and especially after u do it a couple times, it should be clear and easy/fast to do.

yeah, it takes some effort to get setup with btc, but once u do ur good, and u will only have to spend more time when u are depositing or withdrawing (and then only 5-10 minutes from start to finish). u will understand the process by then though so it will be a piece of cake.

Final question I swear. So I'm at the end, I've made my account, deposited the money into my GDAX/Coinbase and transferred it to my electrum wallet. I'm still confused as to how to send it to my ignition account. Do I go through the ignition app? Or do I go through electrum and set the transfer rate. I'm just not sure where I'm sending it to.

When I set the new rate I need to designate where the money is going and I'm unsure how to affiliate it with my ignition account.

it's all good, feel free to ask questions when need be. there's a bit of a learning curve at first... This thread has loads of info, but for someone starting cold, i can see where it would be hard to make sense of it all or know where to start.

i haven't deposited in a while, but afaik the process is still the same: u go into the ign client, to the Cashier, and click the buttons to deposit via btc. they should give u a btc address to send to, tell u exactly how much btc to send, and tell u u have 15 min or smth.

then u go into electrum and copy/paste the address and btc amount ign gave u. then do the rest as shown in the guide.

when u do ur first deposit, u will want to load ur electrum wallet with more than u want to deposit on ign. u need enough btc to cover:

a: the amount u want to deposit on ign
b: the miners fee
c: any negative btc/usd price fluctuation that happens between when u buy btc on gdax and when u send to ign

so if u want to deposit $20 lets say, u should check out what miners fees are at the moment - lets say u estimate u will pay a miners fee of $2. this means u would need appx. $22 worth of btc. However, the usd value of btc is pretty volatile, so to be safe u may want to purchase $25 or $30 worth of btc on gdax and send it to ur wallet.

make sense?

Yes this all makes sense, check your pm there is just one last thing I'm unsure of. Thanks again, incredibly helpful.

Yes, that is the very definition of standard. Just note, it could happen literally any time, or go beyond 48 hrs - both also very standard.
