wow just googled this, looks ****ing amazing, what are the fees for transactions with this bitpay visa card, or are there any? don't like waiting forever with glidera (or kraken direct) and paying the 6% bitcoin atm fee to get money instantly.

so we recommend you hold your own bitcoins. use armory or blockchain.info, or a wallet on your phone (breadwallet or mycelium). you can then never have to send from the place you buy/sell the coins directly to a website. you can always then send it to yourself once (or twice) if you want.
This was really old I know, but doing some research on cashouts since I'm winning again on ignition finally lol. I definitely prefer this approach and have recommended this way of going about it in my twitch stream.

when u withdraw from ignition, u will have the funds sent to your general bitcoin wallet (U NEED THIS), like blockchain.info or other, then u will send the funds from there to your bitpay card. really simple.
so I posted a question about this and now its answered, lol sounds great, just need to find out about fees with bitpay if any.

You can use it like any other Visa card or withdraw via the ATM. There is a $2 ATM fee that BitPay applies however a lot of ATMs will also charge you an additional $3. Alternatively many stores allow you to get cash back with no fees.

Here's a photo as proof that it can be used at an ATM:

perfect, so i can take my mycellium balance to bitpay card and get cashback at a store for no fee, brilliant. will definitely be ordering a bitpay card when i receive my latest btc cashout. Can I pay for the $9.99 card fee with BTC? Might be a dumb question, but whatever lol.

so i just looked a the bitpay visa card. all it is is a debit card that you load with bitcoin but converts to usd once put on the card?

this seems like a much better option than coinbase, is this correct? seems safer/secure from big brother and coinbase possibly closing your account?

Correct, usd to your card. Works great for me so far. Very pleased, easy to use, no issues using it to buy stuff in person or online.

As far as I could see, paying the fee with BTC was the only option.

I believe the only fee you really run into is $2 per ATM transaction, said on top of the ATMs fees. You can choose cash back option at a store for no fee. I also believe they have a dormancy fee of a few bucks s month if the card is not active for some time.

I mean how are their conversion rates/fees compared to coinbase.

Obviously they charge no "fee" for converting but that doesn't mean they use the same rate as coinbase.

If I send 1 BTC to coinbase and 1 to bitpay where do I end up with more money after their fees/conversion rate.

Say I send $200 from bread wallet to bitpay, I of course pay a mining fee of a few cents so it's like $200 and some pennies, then bitpay balance shows as $200.

As for coinbase I have no idea.

Coinbase question

Hi, I just set up a coinbase account so that I can deposit dollars directly into my bank account. I'm not sure if I can do that with my new Bitpay account.

Here's how I did it - I transferred Bitcoins from Blockchain to my coinbase Bitcoin wallet. There is no way that I saw to instantly transfer from This coinbase wallet to my U.S. dollar wallet so I clicked on "Get United Stated dollar address," (in the Accounts section of Coinbase) and then sent myself 500 dollars of Bitcoins. After about 20 minutes, my Dollar wallet had about 490 in it.

Did I do this right? It looks like Coinbase charged about 10 dollars to turn bitcoins into dollars. Is there any way around that fee?
Thanks

Also, from what I can see, I'll be charged again when I transfer dollars from Coinbase to my bank. Is this correct?

It lets you convert btc to whatever currency you want and store them with no risk to the price fluctuations of BTC. I ordered my bitpay debit card, so im going to give that a try too, but circle really is a piece of cake. For the people not using bitcoin because they're ignorant to it or confused for whatever reason, I really cant understand the reluctance to not learn and use it, but whatever.
Wow ok. Do you use the same old address every time? Or different old addresses? Thx for your help

You shouldn't, but I guess it depends on your bank. If they were worried about it you can tell them that Coinbase is US based and fully licensed and legal.

Bitpay uses their own exchange rate based on info from multiple exchanges.

In my experience it's a very fair rate. But you can look at their live rate before you do anything to compare the two:

After you deposit bitcoin to your account, click on "Buy/Sell" on the left, then "Sell". It gives you the option of either selling directly to your bank account, or to your USD wallet.

They only charge 1.5% to buy or sell. Your Blockchain.info wallet may have shown the amount as $500 worth using their exchange rate info... but that number is for informational purposes only. It's just useful to get a close idea of how much your bitcoin is worth, but it's not going to match up exactly with your exchange.

No fees to deposit or withdraw dollars from your USD wallet. The fee only occurs when buying or selling bitcoin.

Endthefed! Thanks for all the help, got a quick question for you.

Do I need to go from igintion -> blockchain -> coinbase

or can I just go ignition -> coinbase?

Thanks in advanced!

Ignition -> blockchain ->coinbase.

BTW, Circle no longer allows me to receive btc from blockchain and coinbase says my region is not supported - i'm in Virginia. Guess bitpay seems like a solid alternative.

So if I order a BitPay card does this take away Circle/Coinbase? As in, it will go Ignition>Blockchain>BitPay Card?

If so, how long from Blockchain to BitPay card?

Anyone vouch for using this card?

Yes, you should always use your own wallet in between.

Even if you are trying to transfer from one poker site to another, you should still request the withdrawal to your wallet first.

Hmm, I thought Virginia was supported... unless something recently changed. They wouldn't let you sign up for an account at all?

Had to do a small test withdrawal just to see if I could match some of these quick times that have been posted the last few days.

$100 BTC withdrawal

Req: 12/16 at 7:15pm
Rec: 12/16 at 8:00pm

Cash in hand about 20 minutes later via cash back transaction at store.

From request to physical cash in hand in about an hour, with no fees.

Larger withdrawals will likely take a bit longer, my last real withdrawal took about 30 hours. But still, that's pretty good and demonstrates the great job Ignition is doing and why Bitcoin is the best method.

I have a BitPay card question just above this post. Are you a BitPay card user?

The card appears to eliminate coinbase/circle. Is under an hour usual for the process from Blockchain to card? thank you!
