is this for deposits or withdrawals? also just signed up with them, after the first few glowing endorsements

also created an acct with gemini, and did a withdrawal, seemed easy enough, slightly more complicated than circle was

Just ordered the Bitpay card. Is it normal to NOT get any confirmation email?

I think we found ourselves a democrat. xD

But seriously, don't break the law, pay your taxes, and this shouldn't be an issue...

PS. You are freaking out about something that isn't true. These cards have 10k/day load limits and $25k balance limits with no yearly limits.

After speaking with support they said the $500/yr limit is for card to card transfers. They allow customers to have up to 3 bitpay cards at a time. They said funding the card via ACH up to any amount your bank allows should be no problem. However they also said you cant send funds from the card to bitcoin addresses, only receive them. So you shouldnt load the card expecting to use it to fund your Ignition account, you just use it to cash out from Ignition.

BTC

REQ 12/8/16 6pm
REC 12/8/16 9pm in blockchain

First time transferring funds from Blockchain to BitPay card. Funds are gone from Blockchain instantly and now "pending" in BitPay card dashboard. Any input on how long this process may take to complete?

expanding upon this; since this thread is for cashouts then it stands to reason the BitPay card is still a good solution. Since obviously our goal as poker players is to cashout, never deposit, then receiving funds to your bitpay card on a regular basis in the form of BTC is appealing. They have no fee's for this and I guess they are just skimming a little from the exchange rate, since what they are basically doing is selling your BTC for USD on the fly every time you send BTC to the card.

Here are the card limits they emailed me from a PDF:

Purchase Limits $10,000/DAY
Cash Withdrawal Limits $3,000/DAY $750/TRAN
Load Limit $10,000/DAY
Maximum Card Balance $25,000
Card to Card Transfer Limit $500/DAY

A follow up to my previous question. Has anyone used the BitPay wallet in conjunction with their BitPay Visa to replace blockchain? Almost two hours after sending the money to my BitPay Visa i'm still waiting for "3 verifications" from Blockchain..

Ignition>BitPay Wallet>BitPay Visa

instead of

Ignition>Blockchain>BitPay Visa

Please take a minute to look at this. The higher the fee you pay, the faster your transaction will be confirmed. I highly suggest learning about bitcoin and blockchain technology if you are going to be using it. It is your money at risk.

I'd still use blockchain as an intermediary to avoid Bitpay's prying eyes on your funding source, as they might also not look too keenly upon gambling transactions. Also we dont really know how well secured Bitpays wallet is, blockchain has reputation.

Also a friend just did a blockchain>bitpay visa xfer for 1k and it took about an hour to exit pending status.

Thank you for the reply. I have researched and have seen that about the fees.
I'm curious in that graph, on a 30 day scale the peak is 29 minutes and I'm at approx. 130 minutes with 0 verifications. I'm wondering how that factors in..
I'm fine with paying a higher fee for faster processing, any suggestions on pricepoint there?

I'm slightly north of that, but that comforting to hear. I'll just keep waiting!

Also, was that with the "standard" transaction fee?

Transactions sometimes take a little longer. This graph is the 'median'. It just shows that there is a significant volume on the network that is making the median time longer than usual. Personally, I would use the blockchain auto-fee (probably what you did). Sometimes you just get a transaction that takes longer or doesn't confirm at all and falls off. I would just wait it out. It is unlikely it will take more than 24 hours. But sometimes it happens..

UPDATE: Ignition is still actively stealing ~$1,000 from me, from mid-Octobér. Just a heads-up: if you hit a miracle and manage to roll the casino deposit over, IGNTION HAS BEEN KNOWN TO STEAL YOUR ROLL.

Just cleared in BitPay. 2 hours 30 minutes isn't bad I suppose. Worried as it was first deposit to that card.

Thanks guys

Until someone can come in here and verify that they were able to make a deposit with a credit/debit card onto Kraken, I am not going to get verified for tier 3. I think their verification requirements are ridiculous, but I am willing to do it if I know I can use my card. If EFT is the only option, I might as well stay with Coinbase. Does anyone here agree with me?

On BitPay's website during the sign-up process for BitPay Card it states:

"Order your card for $9.95. Once your ID has been verified, your card will arrive within 7-10 business days."

Can you just sign up for the BitPay Card and not order the card which costs $9.95?

I just got a very fast response from Kraken support, here is what it says:

Hi XXXXXXX,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we do not allow deposits or withdrawals via debit/credit card. However, we do allow bank transfers. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Warm Regards,

XXXXXX
Client Engagement Team

There is no point in getting tier 3 verified in my opinion. I will just stick with Coinbase.

They don't verify ID but you have to put in SS# so it really doesn't matter. It is all recorded.

My question was regarding paying for the $9.95 BitPay Card. Can you sign-up for the card and choose not to order the physical card?

Essentially only receiving the card number/information? (i.e. can we sign-up for the BitPay Visa and elect to not get the physical card mailed)

Kraken is reputable. They are a financial institution just like banks and they are not allowed to process online gaming transactions the same. If you want to play online poker in the US you will have to figure it out. Their verification requirements are standard for financial institutions. Look at coinbase - They are being pressured by the IRS to give up their records on all their customers. Their customers could be potentially held liable for tax fraud if they had not reported gains while using bitcoin. Personally, going through Kraken or another reputable financial institution is the way to go as they will make you feel like you are held accountable and therefore you may not take shortcuts that you might have taken otherwise. It is your choice ultimately but one thing people should not do is try to shortcut the IRS. It can catch up with you years down the road and suck 100x worse than just paying up front.

They dont have this option on the form so I doubt it. You would have to call them.
