the only reason i can think of is that there isnt a branch near you, but at this point it seems mandatory to me.
also, pretty minor but their bank will charge you a fee.

possibly we are talking about different things, but if a check is given to you drawn off bank x, you can always go to bank x, present the check for cashing, and receive cash. you dont need an account there or anything else. if any bank teller tells you different, ask for the manager. this is the original method of avoiding nsf checks, since bank x can check their records without giving you any personal details, and see if there are sufficient funds in the account prior to cashing.

here's n update from mypaylinq

Tim Bender,

Everything is in order with your account and we are working as diligently as we possibly can to get caught up on all overdue withdrawal requests. These requests are paid out in the order in which they were received so we really cannot leapfrog over those who are in the queue ahead of you. We understand that you may be frustrated by these delays but we are having to be extra cautious regarding money movement due to the events that have taken place in the industry in recent weeks.

We apologize also for the delayed reply to your e-mail. There is no acceptable reason for this other than the extreme workload of dealing with numerous folks who are in the same position.

Please know that we will be waiving the fee on your withdrawal and will be sending your funds to you via USPS Priority Mail, at our expense, and will notify you by e-mail with the tracking number once it has been sent.

Regards,

Cashier Dept.

still no timeframe wow

Requested check on 4/21, approved same day. Received tracking number on 4/27. Received check on 4/28. Cashed check at local grocery cashier window for a small fee. No problems.

hey guys I didn't know you can deposit check at a grocery place even for a fee. How much were the fees and can you do this with every check? where are you from by the way?

Can someone who done this before tell me if this is possible? And is it a CHECK CASHING place?

It was not a bank but it was a check cashing/money transfer window at my local grocery store. I am in Texas. They ran they check through and I assumed they checked to see if it would bounce before handing me cash. Don't feel comfortable naming the bank the check was from but it looked very "legit." The fee was $3 assuming check was less than $1500.

Got my check today, went to my Credit Union to deposit. Two tellers conferred over the check, just to make sure it had all the required parts (enough routing #s etc) just to screen it I guess. Anyways, they accepted it and for some reason didn't put a check hold on it as per usual, could be teller fault... but the xxx check did list Bank of xxxxx as I forgot the term used, but perhaps a US affiliate. Not looking to cash it and have the issues with a dif bank coming to find me, I figure I'll see if there are no issues after some time. It seems Bodog rectifies issues with bounced checks, so why make more issues for yourself?

Anyone get their debit card to work?

I sent about 3 emails. Same "we are looking into it" response.

Finally, in the last email, they said to call. I called. They said "we are looking into it".

It's encouraging that checks are apparently still being processed. They said I could cash out other funds by check, but last time I received a check it bounced and I don't want to bounce another one at my bank so I got the debit card which worked ok once.

Yeah, I should've said that I called the debit card company first, and got the same response and was told to call bodog.

It's now been about 4 days, so I think they should know what the problem is.

Just seems like we're getting the run-around.

Fingers crossed and bodog has always made things right and credited my account for any bounced-check fees, so I'm still hopeful.

1. Play with it and run it up to a decent amount before cashing out or lose it.

2. Move to another state.

Bodog reacted pretty well/quickly to this whole thing. After talking to an CSR on the monday following the friday that I faxed the copy of returned check, I received my western union payment that afternoon. They were going to try to charge me for the western union fee (180$) lmao. I let them know that there was absolutely zero chance of me paying WU fees after they sent me a bad check and they waived it this time. I love that you can call bodog and not just email.
