I’m on ignition assuming it’s same procedure, does anyone know why withdrawing straight to coin base is not allowed?

Simple answer- If you're in the U.S., Coinbase is regulated like any bank and if they see on a public ledger a transaction coming to them from a "gambling" site, they will close your account.
Complicated answer - If you think the simple answer is BS because of anonymity and so forth, then scour this thread for why your thoughts are wrong.

Well, my issue is not one bit closer to being resolved and I can't get a straight answer out of ignition or my bank. Looks like I'm out almost $1600.

I think I'm done playing online poker. It's too hard to get paid.

requesting an international check from an unlicensed online gaming provider when you bank with a small town credit union out of wichita KS was an extremely dumb idea. you also admitted to lying about the source of the funds, so god only knows wtf else you said or what is going on at this point.

IGN isn't stealing your $1600. they said to look into opening an account with a bigger bank, have you done that? i said to look into using bitcoin, have you done that?

So you think if I take a check with "cancel endorsement" scribbled all over it in big blue sharpie to Bank of America, they'll cash it no questions asked?

I'm trying to get the check re-issue or the funds put back into my account so I can try bitcoin, but that seems to be going nowhere.

Also, what am I supposed to say to the credit union when they asked about where I got the check? "Caught a heater on the online felt!".

i'm not generally into victim blaming but you're definitely not much of a victim here. your poor judgment + lying to your bank put you in this situation, and as i said before, IGN isn't trying to steal your $1600 so you will only be marginally inconvenienced as a result of all this. gl, try bitcoin next time.

there's always some weird quirk and vagueness or lack of transparency (bonus points for low post count) surrounding any story re: having problems cashing out

I understand that, and am not trying to be a victim, I came here for advice and to see if anyone had ever had a similar problem and to see how I should proceed from here. If ignition will simply put the funds back into my account I'll go the bitcoin route. I just don't know if they will and really don't want to try to cash a check again. And I admit, saying I am likely out this money probably wasn't the best idea. I don't believe they are trying to steal from me.

I was familiar with the check route and that's why I used it. I've cashed tons of checks from Bovada, albeit years ago with no problems whatsoever. This just seemed unusual to me

I've had this happen before on another site. Send them another email, this time with a picture of the front and back of your check so that they can see the "cancel endorsement" scribbles as well as the check information. I would be shocked if they don't work with getting you the funds back in your account. Be prepared for some sort of fee for this though. I had to pay something like an extra $45 to reverse the cash out for a similar amount to yours. Hope this helps.

Download the Mycelium app and go debit card>>Mycelium wallet>>Ignition in a matter of minutes. It is too easy.

I'm a complete noob to the bitcoin world. I'm Based in the US, MO. I'm trying to withdraw from Bovada. From what I've read, it appears many opinion's prefer Bovada -> BlockChain -> Coinbase -> bank. Can you not withdraw from BlockChain to bank, and is BlockChain a specific site/s, and/or are there other preferred intermediate options? Sorry for the ignorance, and thank you, and I appreciate your response's in advanced.

Interesting question. Just gonna speculate. I use Blockchain as a personal wallet. However, I believe they've introduced the option to act as an exchange linked to your bank account. This requires verification and KYC answers. That would seem to make them subject to U.S. financial laws. That would preclude them from sending/receiving funds to/from gambling sites. Again, just speculation.

Use keyboard shortcuts. Highlight the address and CTRL + C to copy it, then in whatever text box you’re pasting it in click in it and CTRL + V to paste.

As a good practice make sure the first and last few characters of your pasted address is correct.

requested a check cashout this morning for 1k. This is my first cashout... what are they going to ask from me for verification? I'd like to have that ready.

I'll keep everyone updated on my check cashing saga.

In the future I think I'll use bitcoin. Couple of questions for you experienced BCers

What is the cheapest way to transfer bitcoin?
What is the safest way?
What is the best way (in your opinion)?

Cheers,

Back at the end of the year, Electrum ran into a situation where "phishers" were using pop-ups to entice folks to click on for an update. So this week when I encountered the same SYNCHRONIZING, I deleted my wallet and downloaded the latest version from Electrum.org. But, being unable to correctly verify the downloaded signature, after two days and multiple downloads, I deleted everything Electrum. Those who aren't as technically challenged as I am, should have no problem trimming the end off the signature after the download. I was able to see my 83 cents balance after the downloads. So no further SYNCHRONIZING problems. I was surprised I didn't have to change my password and all details of my previous wallet were the same. But I encountered a pop-up on the second day after the update, and that was all she wrote. Canceled my withdrawal request on WPN and deleted all vestiges of wallet. Downloaded a BitPay wallet. Will revisit Electrum after son shows me how to verify downloaded signature. https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/4968

Thanks but the problem is I cant find my seed the 12 word phrase. I got my password but no seed. And they need it when I download my new version. So is there no way to get my bitcoins now?

New to crypto. The thread says to withdraw funds from Bovada -> Blockchain -> Coinbase -> Bank. I'm a bit confused on Blockchain, which site or sites to use for it.

Hopefully, someone else can point you to the right path. I didn't need to re-seed when I updated my wallet. In fact, I thought I was downloading a whole new wallet after deleting my previous one. But, I plugged my password in, and voila. No synchronizing issue, 83 cent balance showing as well as all previous transactions. Ya gotta recall where your seed is. Perhaps you were indulging when you made the original wallet. Back in the day, I once hid a $50 bill from myself. Two-three months later, I remembered doing it, but couldn't find it. Rolled one up to get back in that state of mind when I hid it and voila. Went right to the record album cover and found it. Ya gotta recall where your seed is.

I'm completely ignorant in the crypto world! If I withdraw from Bovada to Blockchain, then to Coinbase, would the Blockchain wallet not accept from Bovada, because it would get flagged as a 'gambling' site? And is Coinbase even necessary, can I not convert/move my money from Blockchain to my bank? (I haven't made any accounts on these sites, as I'm a complete noob. Just trying to find as much detailed and specific answers, thank you!)

I've deposited and cashed out coinbase --> bovada always. Haven't had any issues yet.

I withdrew ~7k from beginning of Feb -> beginning of March after a couple big tourney wins, in 4 separate withdrawals, the largest of which was $2800. Went directly from Bovada to Coinbase.

If I was cashing out a more significant amount of money, then I'd probably take precautions as others are saying.

Just saying, it's possible without having to jump through hoops.

Here we go again....

Newbies, do not do what Chitown is doing. Use a wallet as a buffer, anything otherwise is at your own risk.
