Personally, I've never had a check take over 1 week and it seems checks have been arriving inside of 1 week.

Not sure where the couple of weeks comes from.

I requested a payment via check on 8/29 and received it 9/10 (far east). I went to deposit it today at my credit union and after grilling me with questions they deemed that they were "certain" the check was a fraud then confiscated it and refused to return it to me. They instead scanned it and stamped it fraud in bold red letters. I never once mentioned gaming or Bovada in any way. I told them it was payment for some online affiliate work that I recently did.

I contacted support and was told to scan the copy they gave me and attach it in an email. I did this moments ago and now I'm waiting to see whats next. I monitor this thread pretty closely and have never seen anyone have an issue like this. I am very concerned that I will not be able to get my Money.

Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

do people like you just knee-jerk post in these threads without even taking a minute to think logically for yourself?

come on dude seriously? if you follow this thread closely, can you PLEASE show me a single example where someone has not been paid out by Bovada? and you monitor this thread but claim you've never seen anyone else have a problem like this, really?

everyone has repeatedly said its stupid to use these bumble-**** small local banks and credit unions for depositing checks from online poker because you are infinitely more likely to run into problems like these....small banks/credit unions do not have the resources to deal with potential fraud and international collections so they will very often just not accept them at all especially if you're not a longtime customer who they trust.

I'm done responding to idiots in this thread who do nothing but make it harder for everyone else to get their money...every time one of you idiots does this **** and have to call up Bovada for a new check/etc you are directly making it harder for Bovada to keep offering free checks and quick cashouts.

but please, keep insisting you've "followed this thread closely" and then turn around and show how little time you've spent doing your own research to answer your questions. fkn entire generation of these helpless idiots coming up into the world...just great....

When I say I'm concerned I won't get my money, I mean that crediting my account or sending me another check that won't be accepted by my credit union will not do me any good. And no, I have not read a single post in here claiming a bank confiscated a check upon an attempt to deposit and deemed it as fraudulent. Granted I have not read every single post, I do check in on this thread regularly.

I do not live in a small town and my credit union is actually a fairly large chain in my area, I have also been banking there for years, you are making all sorts of assumptions. I have deposited checks from online poker at this credit union successfully post black friday, this is however my first from Bovada.

Not sure why all the hostility to be honest, I'm just looking for advice so I can receive my money in an efficient manner.

are people really this helpless? I reacted the way I did because he claims to "follow this thread closely" and yet he has obviously spent ZERO time researching this issue for himself.

if he truly followed this thread, he would know that he is infinitely more likely to run into problems by attempting to deposit these checks at smaller banks/credit unions...the exact size or number of branches is absolutely irrelevant. there are numerous posts explicitly telling you which LARGE NATIONAL BANKS are best for depositing online poker checks...in fact many people in this thread have gone out of their way to open a checking account at one of these LARGE NATIONAL BANKS just for the SOLE purpose of depositing checks from online poker! once the funds have fully cleared they go withdraw the funds and/or transfer the money to their normal accounts which may or may not be small local banks or credit unions.

the hostility is due to the amount of people who come in here and post about winning and tournament and requesting a check....they ask a bunch of questions and then they ignore all the advice and do what they want anyways. then they come back in here a few weeks later and make stupid comments like "i am very concerned i may not be able to get my money". sigh.

if you fail to see how this will eventually affect other players cashouts you are just being naive....every time some ****** derps it up at a local credit union and has to call Bovada up for a new check plus a $$ comp for their troubles/additional fees....it directly costs Bovada more money and time and eventually they will pass these additional costs onto their players(as all sites would do).

not to mention how these stupid redneck bank managers at these local banks/credit unions love to play mister-banking-detective roles and are infinitely more likely to report these "suspicious" checks and create problems for payment processors that Bovada is using...again this will eventually be reflected in cashout times and fees.

wake up....an entire generation of you kids have lost the ability to think or reason logically for yourselves.

As I already stated, I have deposited multiple checks from online poker post black friday successfully at this credit union. I feel that I had no reason to suspect that it would be an issue.

I was told by support I would hear from them in 24-48 hours and I'm just trying to figure out what my course of action should be.

As you already mentioned, I don't think this has ever happened to anyone in this thread, so I wouldn't expect any first hand advice.

Having said that, stay in close contact with Bovada Support and find a new bank to do business with.

i would think the big banks would be the ones doing the suspecting, questioning, and confiscating.

i use a credit union and they super chill. its not like they want to lose one out of their already smaller customer base or so i thought.

its certainly happened to MANY people in this thread....almost exclusively when someone takes their check inside to a teller at a small local bank/credit union.

the exact details of what happens after they don't accept the deposited check can vary and is irrelevant....in this case its obvious you ran into some overzealous idiot who thinks hes a human fraud-detector and he's making it particularly difficult for you by not handing the check back(is that even legal??). there are certainly others who have posted similar if not identical stories in this very same thread.

what happens in these situations is Bovada needs to make sure you aren't scamming them or something....they also need to make sure that the bank didn't just send the check for collections. you may be out of luck for a few weeks until you can prove 100% that you did not redeem the check.

good luck

lol its not a matter of being "super chilled" or losing out on a customer....its about having the resources, manpower and systems in place to assume the risk of accepting international checks. again if you did your research in this thread you would see that smaller local banks/unions often send international checks out to 3rd parties for collection services...hence the delays, problems, and potentially huge FEES.

seriously, make your life easier....go open a FREE checking account at one of the large national banks mentioned numerous times in this thread and save yourself the hassle/headaches. you don't need to bank with them, just use them for depositing checks from online poker and once the funds have fully cleared you can go withdraw them or whatever and place the money into your bumble**** credit union or whatever.

Wow, I guess I haven't been following closely. I didn't realize so many people were getting their check taken from them and marked as fraud. I'll have to follow closer.

It's happened to a few people and it's always somebody with zero posts. I believed it the first time it happened, but after a while I think it's an elaborate troll job because they always tell the exact same story using similar language.

re: Credit unions vs. big banks. Big banks have better ability to handle international checks in an efficient manner i.e. from the north. The checks from the east are NOT and can be deposited in ATM. Big banks, however, are more likely to close your account for online gaming transactions if they catch wind of what you're doing. Smaller banks/credit unions like having customers. Big banks just try to protect their asses/shareholders.

And if it does really happen, its just an uneducated teller, or manager, or bank.

They arent sending out fake checks ever.

Take fifteen minutes, open an account at a new bank, deposit next check there, problem solved.

This is very much real, I can post the picture of the scanned copy if there is any doubt. I am a long time poster but after black Friday/site was hacked I stopped logging into my account and posting. I made this one last month after I started playing on Bovada and had an issue with zone launch.

MG req: 9/8

CIH: 9/11

I cashout 3-4 times a month thru MoneyGram w/o any problems, but the last couple times I have had to call them on the 3rd day or later after request and they seem to almost process it on the phone, it's done so quickly afterwards. Maybe they are softly discouraging this payout option in favor of checks, which have apparently been speedy recently.

I have two checks that were processed on 8/29 and 8/30 that I have not yet received and for which no tracking info has been posted. However, today I received a LATER cashout processed on 9/7 (from the north). Is it normal to receive checks out of order like this? I guess it's possible that the two August cashouts are being sent from the east and are taking longer?

Yea, I just called them and they said that they can't really tell me much else about it other than that they were both sent out since they have not received tracking info yet. He said that it was possible that they are coming from the east rather than Canada and this might explain it. They said to call back if I don't get them in a few days. I will keep you guys updated...
