So I've read the last few pages of this thread. I understand that we don't want to deposit onto a poker site (one like Bovada for example) by transferring Bitcoin directly from Coinbase since Coinbase may then ban you. So instead we transfer from Coinbase to a wallet (one like Blockchain) and then from there we deposit onto the poker site. But I'm looking at Blockchain.com right now and they have the option to 'Buy Bitcoin' right on their own site. It's 4 steps: 1. Create account, 2. Verify Identity, 3. Upload documents, 4. Link Bank. All these same things have to be done with Coinbase.

So my question is why do we go through Coinbase at all? Why not just buy the Bitcoin right on Blockchain and then send it to a poker room directly from Blockchain? And I'm assuming that since the fourth step is "Link Bank" that once I withdraw from the poker site I can send US dollars from Blockchain (after selling my Bitcoin on their site) to my bank and just drive over to the bank to pick up the cash. Am I missing something here?? Thanks for any and all help in advance.

I don't think buying from Blockchain is an option for everyone right now (certain states)... what you are saying would work, but the only other factor is the market price Blockchain offers, compared to an exchange like Coinbase or Gemini... regardless of where I buy BTC, I still will always send to an intermediate wallet just to add the extra layer as to not link my transaction to a gambling site. You may want to check out the SquareCash app, as I am able to buy BTC in it, and withdrawal (you just aren't able to deposit BTC into the app like a regular BTC wallet)

I am trying to figure out how to deposit on ACR with bitcoin. I have done my research and understand how the coinbase --->> blockchain --->> poker site is SUPPOSED to work. I have my coinbase & blockchain accounts all set up. Here's the issue. I've tried linking 3 different debit cards to coinbase now and all 3 give me an error the card can't be used on Coinbase for one reason or another. After calling Coinbase multiple times, I'm told that some banks block their transactions and there's nothing that can be done.

I have linked my bank account as well, but the problem with that is that when I did a transaction with my bank account, I was notifed that it would take 22 DAYS for the funds to be available for me to send outside of Coinbase.

I've also tried using my debit cards directly on ACR where I get similar errors that the transaction couldn't be processed.

This whole process is getting really frustrating when all I want to do is play some damn poker. Any suggestions?

In the past I've always moved money from poker client -> Blockchain wallet -> Coinbase -> bank account. I see now that Blockchain offers direct transfers to bank accounts. Is it still necessary to use Coinbase or is it wise to send funds from Blockchain directly to your bank account?

I use Electrum for my PC and Coinomi for mobile. Coinomi is cool because it's also an alt-coin wallet as well

Just a heads up don't use the blockchain sfox direct to your bank. I've been waiting over a month for a transaction from sfox. I had done similar transactions with them that only took a couple of days. Of course it is tied to when bitcoin crashed in mid-Nov, but that should be their problem not mine. It's still just listed as pending.

Regarding crypto and poker in the USA, I got a question: Is it a criminal offence in the USA to play on a globally operating poker site or is it just forbidden without any consequences for the gamers, so that only a pokerroom would be held accountable if they would offer to US citizens?
