Bitcoin for online poker? Bitcoin for online poker?

Is there any decent site to play poker for bitcoin? I am not talking about acepting bitcoin deposits and turn it into dollars, I am talking about holding the bankroll in bitcoin and playing bitcoin tables.

I have seen a couple of rooms working with crypto but they use tokens not Bitcoin...

The problem with Bitcoin is that the value fluctuates so it makes it difficult to keep a bankroll on a site. Just my opinion but players don't want to deal with the volatility of Bitcoin and would rather just use fiat as their deposit isn't going to drop overnight. I think this is why SWC didn't take off, people not understanding bitcoin and/or people not wanting volatility.

When Bitcoin becomes a universal currency and is well established it will be used at poker sites I think. I say this as a crypto enthusiast. Most people still have no clue about crypto. When I bring up crypto or Bitcoin the conversation dies. People don't know about it and they don't care. Or they say something about being worried about being scammed because they only heard negative stuff(Bitconnect for example).

Any poker site that has exclusively Bitcoin at the moment is going to have mostly pros I would think.

The other thing about crypto is that it doesn't get around the USA online poker problem. There is a poker site using a Token that doesn't even advertise that it is "Legal in the USA". I wonder why that is? People are asking if it is OK to play in the US but they can't get a straight answer. Crypto was supposed to be the answer to online poker segregation and problems with payment processsing etc. Nope.

I think we could see a decentralized poker room one day. no rake and based on a blockchain.

When this happens, nobody will notice. Poker needs players who want to play for fun, and players who want to play for money.

So my question is a little off-topic for this thread, but it's the best place I could think of where I could maybe get some answers.

What do people know about Stake Casino? Same folks that have PrimeDice, which I *think* has a decent reputation. They each have a thread over at bitcointalk, and I didn't see any big issues (aside from Game-Protect ranting, but I don't find them especially credible after their performances here), but I'm not familiar enough with that forum to be confident I couldn't be missing any issues.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

They have a fairly active forum. The live chat is always pretty active in games there.

The user experience on a lot of "provably fair" casino games can leave a lot to desire... stake would fall into the higher end of the casinos like that.

Use their faucet if you want to try them out.... it's small amount of free bitcoin. Plinko was their best game imo.

swcpoker (formerly known as sealswithclubs) is probably your best bet

online poker isn't illegal in the USA, although a lot of people have that misconception.

the government went more after the finances/payment processing side of things.

i think crypto gets around that issue pretty well, but it's certainly still a gray area. i think the different online poker sites have tried to anonymize themselves or separate themselves from any usa business connections, with varying degrees of success. and some of the crypto stuff is more monitored/regulated than it used to be.

Lol I thought once sealsiwthclubs got closed and Micon was arrested this was all over. Now I see it is not.

I have a few quesiotns: did sealswithclubs honored all money from the players once they were closed? How trustable is swcpoker? Is still Micon involved still? And how soft/hard are games? Thanks!!

Anyone else have thoughts on Stake Casino or Primedice?

I did not hear of anybody losing tons of bitcoins in here, so you got anecdotal evidence at least.
I wouldn't trust them with a ton of money (like any poker site if you think it through), but since you can easily deposit and withdraw within a day, you can put the money on for the games you want to play and withdraw after a session.
games are pretty normal, you have guys like SwoopAE playing there for fun and other guys who just horde some bitcoin and don't want to play for a living as well as some darknet dealers who want to gamble with their coins. Rake is super low (10 chips has 0%, everything else about 5%), mtts even got some sng-sized guarantees in us-primetime. dont know about cash, but should be low too.

Yes, I never said online poker was illegal. What I said was that crypto sites aren't saying It is legal in the USA and when asked the question they won't give a straight answer, so they obviously haven't solved the online poker in the USA problem. They aren't going to grow until it opens up to the general population and having it in a "grey" area is not going to help. Hence it hasn't solved the USA online poker problem. I play PLO at Coinpoker and there are barely 2 or 3 tables going on average. People haven't jumped on the site to play poker. Crypto poker is not going to be the answer to the UIGEA.

I am very new with using bitcoin and I paid 9.95 in btc for my bitpay visa just now but it said there was something wrong with my configuration and that it might take up to 3 days for the payment to go thru. I thought btc was supposed to be fast! ugh.

Have you made sure your personal wallet is enabled with the "protocols" to send funds to Bitpay. Blockchain doesn't have them. Wallets such as Mycelium and Electrum do. There should be a list of compatible wallets on the Bitpay site. OK. Now I see I misread your post. You were sending to Visa Bitpay for your card. And they have to make some adjustment due to something you did. If that's true, 3 added days may not be that bad.

actually I use electrum and the payment for the card went thru after a few minutes, it just said it might take 3 days for some reason due to a low fee.

Also, if I send money to coinbase from electrum will coinbase know that I got the btc from acr and close my account?

When sending funds from Electrum, there is a bar for the miner's fee indicating which block will pick up the transaction. If you set the bar to the far right the transaction is usually picked up in the 1st (next) block. When I enter the figure I want to send to Bitpay, the bar automatically adjusts for instant transfer. As for Electrum to coinbase, if coinbase decided you're special, they could possibly trace your transactions back to point of origin.

My coinbase account was closed a few weeks ago with no explanation. I assume they traced my BTC back to a poker site. I've always gone poker site --> wallet --> coinbase. Im worried my other exchange accounts will be shut down for the same reason. Any idea how to prevent my accounts with other exchanges from being shut down?

As I have no exchange accounts, I can't offer any assistance. Sorry.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions..

It has been awhile, but my normal route was Bank - Coinbase - Wallet -Site.

Last time I did this, the rate from Coinbase to my Wallet was like $25 fee for a $50 transfer.
Is this still the case? Is the fee for transferring from Coinbase to Wallet still that high?
Possibly there is a better way to accomplish this? I prefer not to use a CC if possible.

Thank you again.

I'd move this to the appropriate thread, but I'm not sure what that is as you didn't provide a site - it will be kind of hard to answer your question without that information.

The site is Betonline..
But this is more of a bitcoin transfer fee question to anyone who has done one lately.
I guess my main question is if the rate from the coinbase to the wallet is still half the transfer amount. Last time coinbase charged me $25 to transfer $50 to my wallet.

TY in advance.

According to this site :

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/

An average transaction should cost you 900 satoshis.

You're welcome.
