Not really sure how this is going to work. There is virtually no account verification for betcoins accounts.

There is no reason you can't create a bunch of accounts. I know people were doing it for freerolls/gtd tournaments on betcoinpoker.

I'm surprised a network would let them in like this. The fact they are offering DONs doesn't say much for their ability to stop collusion.

Unfortunately WPN tournaments seem to not qualify for points/promos on Betcoin. Hopefully this is a bug.

Can you exchange Bitcoin for USD onto a PrePaid Green Dot/Debit Card, not connected to your personal bank ?

It seems most of the wallets/exchanges require your personal banking info.

I thought one of the values of BTC was not needing the US Banking System ?

BTC does not need the banking system, but the dollar does. Exchanging your BTC for dollars can happen on a public exchange, which usually requires your banking info, or it can happen privately. You may not find a public service to exchange BTC for anonymous gift cards, but I'm sure there's a way.

Couldnt find the old bitcoin thread so I started a new one. Found a new bitcoin room called bitspoker. Good amount of traffic! Tried a deposit and withdrawl, and had no problems. They have low and high stake tables going and PLO also.

I'm a reg on betcoin and have an account on the new SWC, but the new SWC is virtually dead and while betcoin has got some action, the action tends to peter out at the 2/4 level and on most days there's only a handful of tables running at the lower stakes.

I'm a Maryland resident, so bitcoin sites that don't care where you live are my only option. Is there a better alternative than betcoin or am I stuck?

There are plenty of people waiting in both lobbies for HU nl/ plo.

If you're looking for 3+ handed you need to sit in mixed games. No limit and plo are in the rotation.

10/20+ runs almost every day on swc

You're talking about SWC in your whole post, right?
The SWC with 103 players online, 0 mixed games running, 1 omaha game going, 1 holdem game going with 3 people and about 20+ HU tables with a bunch of guys camping them out looking for anyone to play with except the other guys camping them out?

Yeah, SWC is a ghost town compared to the old Seals With Clubs. Try again.

It's 8am pacific time. Quite a few a players live in the U.S. Just like yourself. Stop whining. Relax.

There are over 10 guys who play 10/20+ mixed (and I don't even play that often/ haven't probably seen everyone).

As I mentioned earlier, if you want nl/plo action and do not want to play the guys waiting in the lobby, you have to play mixed games. If you want action then you have to give action. They're actually quite fun to play, pretty soft, and almost everyone is friendly too

I'd love it if swc got back to its old glory levels, believe me, I love their software, but it's dead, and not much more to bring people in or back.

So thanks for your input but I'm looking for a site that currently has a bodycount more than 10.

have you tried ACR? They accept bitcoin and they have good amount of ring games there. Are they not open to Maryland residence? If that is the case, sounds like your only bet would be betcoin

Hate to endorse these s... sites, but I've seen you playing on betcoin so let me help you out. Go to bitspoker.com. (ACR is the same skin as betcoin by the way.) Plenty of people and tables going 24 hrs. High stake tables and low. Bitcoin deposits only. I've deposited and withdrawn there.

If you play mixed games, draw games, or 5 card Omaha then the new Seals With Clubs is the place to play. Period.

Full Games equivalent to $5/10 or $10/20+were running every night. It's slowed down a little bit recently due to some core players being at the WSOP. But it is still going.

Until wsop, where some regs have been, there was constant mix/draw action. Even last night when I played on for the first time in two weeks since coming out, there was a 12 game and badeucy at 20/40. Does look like a lot of people sitting and waiting for HU action at the big bet games, but the other stuff runs frequently, but maybe not at the most off-peak hours.

You could play 2 tables of 10/20 usd or higher for 6-8 hours/day on that site if you so chose. If you sit high stakes 2-7 or 12 game after wsop at peak time I can guarantee you will get action in minutes.

My honest opinion is to make the switch to a digital or cryptocurrency poker room.

What is crypto currency? Ans: Bitcoin, litecoin, darkcoin, namecoin, etc. It is a digital currency that is anonymously sent over a vast network and has value and can be exchanged for fiat currency instantaneously.

It has a lot of pro's such as near instant deposit/cashouts for online poker.

Some reputable and famous bitcoin poker rooms: Betcoin Poker (part of WPN network acr bcp) SWC (another trusted poker room)

These rooms are well managed and have growing players. The rake is lower than USD poker rooms and the software is just as good if not BETTER!

Some of these rooms like Betcoin you can find special affiliates similar to THENUTS on different forums and get as high as 100% rakeback and other perks but all these rooms beat fiat currency poker rooms in rake and rewards. The only thing is that fiat has consistent traffic while digital currency poker rooms lack traffic. I believe that will change in time.

Seriously guys there are better alternatives to online poker than good old poker stars ftp or bovada aka the big dogs. These companies will just continue to nickel and dime as time goes on. They are no different than companies like AT&T Comcast Xfinity of the real world. For example, these 2 companies charge so much in hidden fees which is pretty much like some kind of legal theft because they have 20 pages of disclaimers that you don't see and can't see... written in size 3 font. Pokerstars changes in rake and ending deals, Bovada refusing to provide better rewards or rakeback and only allowing 4 tables, pokerstars users getting hacked while stars doesn't do anything (hey at least provide easily accessible 2FA like Betcoin and SWC!)...... these are all examples of big corporation greed.

Time to move to the smaller honest companies that aren't corrupted....

Make the switch!

Bitcoin poker is Internet poker, unless you're playing it over the telephone or some other way I'm not aware of. And there's zero evidence that it's "overtaking" anything.

But who cares about overtaking? It doesn't need to overtake anything. Bitcoin is a currency, not a form of poker, and it's good that some sites have this option. Perhaps more will add it if demand grows.

Like credit default swaps that brought the world to its knees bitcoin is another unregulated wild west for cowboys where funds/coins are created out of nowhere. I wouldn't ever touch it and tell everyone else the same.

Is this the end?

I have been using Bitcoin to play low-rake internet poker for a few years now. Many advantages. No problems at all.
  • Low rake
  • Very low transfer expenses
  • Quickly and easily move funds on and off poker site
  • Anonymous

The problem is the lack of traffic. There are also rooms with low to no rake but the traffic is mainly not there. Swc have some free converter for nlh, and vietbet, that has regular action at nlh50 and around and half or so rb and stars level rake, also may have some converter but it may not be public.

The wpn softwares bitcoin site has no cash action, and I dont play tourneys at wpn that shares them with that bitcoin site,, and wpn as a network accepts bitcoins as a deposit I think, like intertops, vietbet and fullflush I think but no bitcoin cashout and the play is in dollars.
I
A couple of weeks ago my uk euro bitcoin wallet didnt accept my password, needed to ask a new password, not too promising. I have used bitcoins to buy stuff also, when the bitcoins value is a bit more, and could buy some more bitcoins when the value of bitcoins is a bit less, and the same for deposits with bitcoins that get turned to dollars I suppose. At this time I dont have much use for bitcoins and might stop using them at some point. Fullflush has some converter and action but they have cashout problems.

Only a small part of my action goes to bitcoin sites and I even cashed out tony though rakefree for the frustration of lack of action. I also saw an australian site with half the rake I think that has almost only australians, not bitcoin I think and not busy but some during australian times, a lot of regs, looking about their vip levels. Has some potential but not so during my times.

There not being lower to no rake sites isnt the problem, and on bitcoin sites one can be from anywhere and the only site asking documents is your wallet at least if you deposit there with cash. The problem is these poker sites, casino sites, are not as known, and the hud thing can also be of some problem.

The bitcoin use is good and bad, and is easy like any wallet or even easier, but one needs to make sure what the value of bitcoin is when one does anything. The low value of euro compared to dollar is significant and I used that to pocket some dollars as I need to convert them in euros, that I now have more as they were not worth much more than dollars.

I use a dollar wallet online with a similar reason as i have a bitcoin account, though with less trust to my bitcoin wallet when even the dollar known wallets get hacked every now and then, though u can make that next to impossible even without two steps, similar to stars. The email being the weakest spot then, depending on your computers security, and how much you use it but at safe sites.

The hem etc. dont support any small sites, just some other softwares might and the possible converters, that are often not free, nor those other softwares, counting out some but they dont support eg. Swc anymore, that is imo the best site for bitcoin play at this time, and not only because I play some 5 card omaha and mixed games. And there is a free converter for nlh on these 2 2 forums, though it gave a safety warning and I didnt download it as the first ones doing so and I dont have yet another laptop, that I could use for poker only to limit the loses and extra work when something gets alarmed.

Anonymous accounts, a questionable thing, prefering actually eu networks with full non anonymity and legal vulnerability, though not all interested to give extra for goverments as it isnt working almost at all currently. Anonymous might be nice when it gives one no protection anyway if not, but the sites dont ask for documents for nothing, though stars has never asked anything from me.

I dont feel all safe spreading out my documents, also seeing how many sites run with our money, needing to take care to cover many numbers and even then it isnt safe, nor is a deposit with neteller etc. Compared to bitcoin, considering the info u are still currently typing in on sites when making your deposit, while with bitcoin, no documents and ur sending the money from elsewere like a wire transfer, though not as anonymous. But bitcoin sites as anonymous have been abused and the ip etc. And email is the level of protection u have from other players.

But as a currency, bitcoins are much the same for me as dollars, used for online poker mainly, with possibly no currency conversion or other buyings also possible, but at this time it isnt a significant consideration for most, but to some it can be more or less. If the bitcoin value stays the same, it is 1 percent to turn them to euros, but if one also uses it for dollar deposits to sites and even back, not looking as good, and even if for free, the saved percentage or two isnt a lot of money when using just dollars instead. So, not too clear how much better bitcoin is at this time, other than it seems to be growing in popularity. Though personally, I dont find much use for it at this time compared to dollars and euros, but that is more than nothing, as it used to be for me before.

There are goods for bitcoins, and goods for anonymity or close to it, but all that also depends on person and if one gets enough action to make it better. But there is no lack in low or even in rake free sites. Just a lack in action.

Are you talking about poker site accounts and verification, or something related to the Bitcoin transactions?

If the former, many might not see this as a good thing, or find verification as LOL as you do.

Now that you're asking I guess both and perhaps "LOL" wasn't the appropriate emotion to use. I can see why KYC or AML is quite necessary in the real money poker world but not necessarily in the bitcoin space.

But then again it's a matter of opinion.
