For those that would like to add an extra layer of privacy to their bitcoin transactions, DarkWallet public alpha has arrived.

Last year, the Journal told readers about Cody Wilson’s efforts to take the virtual currency off the grid through a project called Dark Wallet, the 26-year-old’s latest effort to use technology to sidestep the government. Mr. Wilson is most famous for creating the first working gun made by a 3-D printer.

After months of programming, Wilson and his partner, British anarchist Amir Taaki, also 26, are releasing an early version of the software for free download. It will work as an add-on for Google Chrome browser.

Among other things, Dark Wallet is designed to encrypt bitcoins as they’re spent, making it difficult to see who is buying what. Think of it as throwing a ball into a spinning lottery tumbler and picking out a different ball.

If more people use Dark Wallet, the theory goes, more people put balls in the lottery tumbler and make it harder to determine which belongs to whom.
I've got the alpha app on chrome and moved a few mBTC over to test it out. Interface is clean, intuitive and the rest speaks for itself. Stealth Transactions sure sounds good to me.

Check it out.

*** Stealth Transactions ***

If we had that technology before 2011 things might look much different around here now.

It's never to late to start from scratch.

Tested the chrome app some more. In case anyone tries it, logs in and all of a sudden funds his balance being 0.. don't panic, server app takes a minute or two to refresh when the app is reloaded.

Apart from that no problems. I even pretended I lost my wallet login and recovered the previous wallet into a new DarkWallet with the seed.

Pretty impressed by DarkWallet and will follow it. But for now my Blockchain wallet will remain to be my main. End of the day Blockchain has Shared Coin which isn't much different.

Hi everyone.
As you may be know we have problem in france to play on the .com poker room.
We can only play on the .fr.
The prizepool is very small and the rake very expensive!!!
For example the sunday special on PS has a price pool of 100k€.

For us the only to play poker with people over the world is to play with bitcoin.

Do you have any room to advice?
What's your first feedback?

Thx for your help.

Seals with Clubs is an excellent option for people looking to play with BTC. However, SWC ranks 44th in the world in traffic ATM, with a 7 day average of 95 cash game players.

Good luck with finding a Bitcoin site that can offer maybe 10% of that as biggest prize pool in an MTT.

any feedback from Betcoin Poker? K8 Poker? I know there hasn't been a lot of traffic on either so far. I know they have some freerolls, and some of the micro-tourneys at Betcoin seem to be running somewhat. Any peak times thus far for traffic?

My biggest question is how competitive is the sportsbook at Betcoin? I know this may not be the best place to ask, but I can't look at the lines without making a deposit first

"Bitcoin

Duration:
30 minutes

First broadcast:
Thursday 05 June 2014

The new economy based on bitcoins, the computer-generated crypto-currency, is the subject for discussion. What can you buy with them and as the market fluctuates wildly, can investors hold their nerve? The programme will look at how the bitcoin craze began and whether the world really does need another currency. Evan Davis's guests are from new companies hoping to cash in - one trades bitcoins, another stores them and the third enables you to spend them online."

^ went ahead and micro-rolled a deposit at Betcoin Poker to take advantage of the above 1st deposit bonus. Let's try and get some cash games going so folks can try to play through it. So the above offer doesn't have a window to clear the bonus?

Tried out Betcoinpoker today. No volume yet but I'm very impressed with their support staff and the software.

The flash software is in beta so there are a bunch of bugs, but every e-mail I send is answered promptly and the bugs and fixed in a timely manner.

This is the first bitcoin poker start that feels "real"...like when Stars burst on the scene after years of Pacific Poker and other crap sites.

Okay, well looks like they have a Mac browser on the way and the web client is being improved quickly. I really like SwC and the BTC model, Betcoinpoker might be something to watch going forward.

I'll come back when they have a Mac browser.

FYI Betcoinpoker.xx, NOT Betcoin.xx. Funny story....
