I was just thinking about this.

Right now for example there's 9 players on a ~$2.50NL table, 5 players on a ~$10NL table, 3 players on a ~$0.25-50 limit table, 2 players on a ~$0.10-20 limit table, 2 players on a $1.25NL table, and 1 player waiting on a ~$25NL table.. that table usually has action though, it isn't like nobody plays that high. Anything higher than $25NL is usually HU or short-handed and just happens when it happens.

Usually it's a little more active than that at this time of night actually. Earlier today there was a ~$300 guaranteed prize pool tourney with a ~$10 buyin that passed the guarantee. So it definitely has activity, just kind of varies.

Not the volume of a conventional site or anything yet. But IMO it's a good option to have going on in the background or whatever. Some bad players who mine bitcoins and don't really have anything better to do with them lol. And they throw around a lot of +EV promotions to help grow the site.

i'm on my seals with clubs grind. looooool. the players are so bad and most are drug dealers. i think it'll be kinda lucrative & fun to see how high i can run my coins up on here.

they have a 60BTC guaranteed tourney today, 2BTC buy-in (that's like a $300 gtd, $10 buy-in). PM me if you want to play but don't have Bitcoins, I'm prob willing to stake anyone if there's overlay and you're at least borderline reputable here. It's at 6pm eastern.

i had another friend w/ a lotta coin on the site offer to stake me and i was just too many tables deep on merge/true so i didn't play it. i'm ernmccracken i'm pretty good natured compared to how i get all pissy in the chatbox on other sites mainly because this **** is so small and every1 sucks and is super chatty... not all of em are nice but i actually enjoy pissing off random drug dealers who call me the n-word over and over and over again.

Sealswithclubs has now added PL and FL Omaha and Omaha Hi/Low. I think they did this prematurely as the new games have killed off all the action at the hold 'em games. It's now hard to find any tables with more than 4 players, especially anything above the tiniest of microstakes.

Hopefully they kill off the Omaha games until their userbase grows a little bit.

they're still doing the Sunday guaranteed tourney.. anybody want a stake? it's really soft and there's been overlay. I'll do a couple stakes to anyone who seems unlikely to roll me. it's basically $10 buyin, $300 gtd. 6pm est.

I know what you mean.. I like omaha so I like the change.. could be just people trying out a new thing. omaha probably attracts more players though which in the long run should spillover to more action all around.

I don't know why people think that bitcoin poker is somehow immune to the DOJ. If the DOJ determines that bitcoin poker is playing for something of value, they can, and will start going after these sites and the online wallets that fund the poker sites. If they get big enough, the DOJ will care and take action. You can quote me on this.

You should learn more about Bitcoin. The advantage of being decentralized (the point really) is that no one can swoop in and take control of the coins (unless you leave them somewhere vulnerabe). If a Bitcoin poker site is leaving their coins where the DOJ can pick them off, they're doing it way wrong.

That said, I don't know who has said "bitcoin poker is immune to the DOJ", so seems like you're talking to a strawman here.

Maybe they could go after a site's domain name, but they might just look silly when they don't come away with any of the assets, and maybe the site reforms elsewhere. You push on a string long enough and people realize who the real criminals are, the DOJ can't just wave a magic wand and have it however they want.

I was responding the person I quoted and I never said the DOJ can swoop in and take control of the coins. I will admit that I don't know much about bitcoins, so I have some questions.

Do I have to fund the poker account through an exchange like MTGOX?
Do the exchanges have an owner?
Is it correct to say these exchanges are now an intermediary used to fund online gambling, kind of like neteller?

You can fund your poker account from wherever you have bitcoins. You can store bitcoins in an e-wallet, or at whatever services you use (poker, sportsbook, coffee store), or you can download the Bitcoin client and store them on your computer.

Every location will have a code for your deposit address. You just enter that code as your withdraw address at wherever you're withdrawing from, and the coins go from one place to the other.

If you send coins to MtGox, now you're trusting those owners not to burn you. But there isn't really any risk on top of that. The government doesn't really have any way to seize an e-wallet's bitcoins (just like they couldn't seize your or my bitcoins), and nobody knows you're transferring to and from poker anyways.

I think pokerstars or some big poker company should start seriously looking into this. Bitcoins could be the holy grail for online poker's financial transaction woes.

Except that bitcoins aren't a real currency, you can't pay your rent in bitcoins and most serious grinders who generate most of the rake would not play for bitcoins.

Not to mention pokerstars can rake a bitcoin, but what can a giant corporation do with its billions of bitcoins in rake?
