I attempted to deposit $50.00, and did so successfully. It will not let me transfer from sportsbook to poker due to "technical difficulties". This is the conversation with tech support I just had, and am contacting visa to attempt to have the transaction canceled since it's Sunday.

Hi! Welcome to BetOnline! How can I help you?

You are now chatting with Lars Armstrong

Your Issue ID for this chat is LTK58301939210X. Please record it in case of pending issue.

Lars Armstrong: Thank you for contacting BetOnline Live Chat Service. How may I assist you today?

Patrick Doyle: I just deposited for the first time and wish to play poker

Patrick Doyle: the site deposited into sports and says "card limit exceeded"

Patrick Doyle: when i try to transfer it.

Lars Armstrong: Hi Patrick

Lars Armstrong: We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Our Tech Department is still working on a solution. Unfortunately we do not have a time frame and recommend not playing until it is corrected.

Patrick Doyle: can you please nullify my transaction then.

Patrick Doyle: cancel my $50 deposit

Patrick Doyle: please

Lars Armstrong: I'm sorry Patrick but that's not going to be possible, our internal policy states that we don't do refunds, I can assure you that you're going to be able to play with no problems soon.

Patrick Doyle: you just said no time frame...

Patrick Doyle: whats the customer service number

Patrick Doyle: you accept deposits but dont allow play

Patrick Doyle: sounds like i just got scammed..

Lars Armstrong: It SHOULD BE resolved soon, we don't have a specific time frame for it yet though, that's correct.

Lars Armstrong: We do have a customer service number but we prefer to take care of our players via chat or e-mail.

Patrick Doyle: I need a better time frame than "soon"

Patrick Doyle: days, weeks, months?

Patrick Doyle: I prefer to talk to someone over the phone.

Lars Armstrong: It'll take a couple of days and we highly prefer to assist our players via chat, as explained.

Patrick Doyle: It is wrong to accept money but not allow immediate play.

Patrick Doyle: you should not allow new deposites.

Patrick Doyle: The transaction can be canceled because it's sunday.

Lars Armstrong: As you understand, it's not something we wanted to happen, believe me, we want you to play.

Patrick Doyle: If you want me to play, cancel the deposit, and I will re-deposit when I can play.

Lars Armstrong: I'm sorry Patrick but as explained we're not going to be able to do that.

Patrick Doyle: Clearly I am not going to get what I want from this. I will contact Visa and see what I can do from there.

Patrick Doyle: You can take money but cannot untake it, and cannot provide a service.

Patrick Doyle: That makes no sense.

Patrick Doyle: Customer service phone number please.

Lars Armstrong: Could you please provide me with your account number and password?

Lars Armstrong: I'll see what I can do for you.

Patrick Doyle: Thank you, give me a second to look up that number

Lars Armstrong: Sure, please do.

Patrick Doyle: B4xxxxx

Patrick Doyle: password is xxxx if i remember correctly

Lars Armstrong: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you...

Lars Armstrong: Our managers will review this for you, we'll get back to you about it on the next 24 hours.

Patrick Doyle: That's not acceptable.

Patrick Doyle: I am going to contact Visa and report the transaction.

Patrick Doyle: Thanks for copy-pasting standard responses if your even an actual person and not a FAQ bot.

Any thoughts? Have I just been scammed?

Probably, but they could also have a legit glitch. Customer service should never ask for a password. Also, credit card transactions can always be refunded/reversed by a merchant within 60 days of said transaction. Visa should bail you out.

Hard to believe that CS would ask you for your password.

If you haven't been scammed, you certainly could be, now.

My personal experience with BetOnline was great.I deposited $200 by credit card ran it up to $800 in a few weeks then withdrew via Western Union.I had cash in hand a couple days after requesting it.All this was done after my 4/10 Bovada cashout which I am still waiting for.CS also asked me for my password (I agree this is weird) I gave it to them it never became a problem.

I'm having the same problem and getting the same lack of real information or help from CS. They're so unwilling to say anything that it comes across as more of a scam than it may actually be.

I've been using betonline for a couple of months after my brother was able to sucessfully withdraw some winnings and until now it's been a pretty smooth experience. I even had a problem with my account and found CS to be friendly and helpful over the phone.

But this recent incident is the complete opposite. Suddenly the guy on the phone barely speaks english and can only suggest that I wait. It reeks of a company getting ready to shut down and just sieze any money floating around in their accounts.

I'm very concerned, and would definitely not recommend anyone use betonline until this situation clears up. Or doesn't.

I don't see why anyone would play here given the horrible information on them in every thread.

I have no experience with BetOnline i just wanted to drop in a comment that 5dimes customer service asks for your name in password every time you contact them and they are probably one of the most truthworthy betting sites on the internets.

Of course that is 5dimes not BetOnline

I just got a reply from CS saying "We are experiencing a Technical Problem with the Poker Network Provider."

Calling it a poker network provider suggests to me that they have in some way farmed out their poker business, which would explain why you have to shuffle your money back and forth between sports gambling and poker playing with betonline.

It would also explain why they're sort of suggesting that people not play poker at all for now. They aren't sure themselves what's going on.

I plan to wait a couple of more days, then go to Visa and just get my money back.

I thought the poker side of BO got banned from the network? Maybe I'm thinking of another skin...
