Both of these statements are somewhat correct. In order for Micro to make a global claim, each person would have to assign their rights to Micro individually. Micro could then make a claim on behalf of a class. The problem that exists with this is that a separate agreement would need to be made with each player indicating a hi/low (or percentage) of what they are willing to accept from the liquidation.
In reality it would just not be practical. A person owed a high percentage of the monetary pool would stand a better chance individually on the way the plan is voted on. Plus, since there would be an additional middleman, each individual would wait longer for their funds to be returned.
People with low amounts owed will normally be all for someone doing the work for them. It is a different situation completely though for the players with the most to lose. I also doubt Micro would do this for free. This would further dilute the amount of funds available for distribution.
