Anyone received any comment or response from Stars on this ugly decision. Believe they just ignore us and not really care. (whats new ?)

I asked live chat and they said are getting a lot of emails and are working as fast to fix the problems. In regards to using older versions by deleting the image cache folder they told me that "we are not responsible for any consequences"...

Why have they got rid of the big cards option. I have perfect eyesight and I’m playing on a 27inch monitor and am somehow struggling to quickly/easily see my cards...

It is becoming harder and harder to be a reg on that site.

Haven't played stars in a while and took a look and what kind of ridiculous software is this? The cards look horrible and just about everything. Anyone know how long exactly they made everyone use this new update? I use to always not update stars until it was necessary.


I use windows... is there a way right now to change it back to the old software? Cards looked better, cards dealt was fast etc. Someone said they could revert back to old software with a mac... but i assume most ppl use windows.

In my case, with all animations and effects turned off, it's still laggy and completely agree that fonts are too small. Ugly that you can change fontsize in lobby but not on the table.

Additionally I noticed one more issue that I haven't seen mentioned before (but maybe I missed it). Every couple of mouse clicks I click any given action button (check/bet/call/fold) and it doesn't trigger. So I have to re-click it again. Very annoying especially when 4-tabling Zoom and fast folding a lot.

I used to have that issue on the Mercury theme. I decided to try the new Carbon beta theme someone mentioned and don't recall any button click issues when I spent an hour doing HM3 testing yesterday. I also had a lot lower CPU use from the stars client according to my task manager with the Carbon theme.

is there any way to turn off the auto updates on stars so I can continue using the old software for as long as possible?

Haha well said. I'm guessing the Aurora engine is necessary for the Candy Crush style "more rake is better" poker games they've been implementing.

By default the desktop icon points to pokerstarsautoupdate.exe (os sg similar) you can change it to point to pokerstats.exe.
Ofc when a big/important update comes it will still warn you and force you to click on the update button (othetwise you can not run the software).

I was using PS like that for ages and about once or twice a year i was forced to update the client.

I am pretty sure they can rig certain players if just they don’t like you. I have a long history of emailing them profanity and calling them cheaters, they banned me for 3 months, and then I got reinstated. There is no normal swings. Either you run like a god for a short time or are completely ****ed by them for most of the time. After I got reinstated within first three days I won 3 different hyper and turbo tournaments and played at a volume of 30 tourneys a day. Key moment for that win was a sequence where I got dealt AA THREE!!! Times in a row with 10 people left. Ever since that it just went downfall big time. For a month now I barely can get paid in slow tournaments, I keep on losing 80-20 situation guy hits his two outers usually on the turn or river. When I am flipping or am behind I always lose to ****ing quads it’s like they are rubbing it in my face. Today alone I lost to quads 4 times and maybe played only about 400 hands. For the month my expected bb/100 Allin adj is 22.23 and I am running at -72bb/100!!!! I have history to prove this. Call this a downswing all you want but I can’t believe it no more. And usually my last hands if they day are most ****ing insane. Like today A8s vs J10 guys hits JJJ in the flop haha haha. They I got it in behind 109s vs AK flop AA3 turn A hahaha. It’s like the mods are ****ing laughing in my face. And I am no fun player, I try to never tilt, I have been playing for 7 years with breaks and recently got really serious about it, studied for about 3 months, bought a masterclass and the old demons came back. They are ****ing scums that rip people from their money health and dreams. I invested so much time into this to only be proven once again that these mother****ers are scamming me. I can give you graphs, my account details, play and see for yourself. I honestly don’t know what to do, because I got really committed to poker but there is no sense in even trying if I know they ****ing rig me I am devastated :/

Anybody else finding note taking at the zoom tables a pain? You always used to be able to fast fold a couple of hands and carry on typing. Now you have to open the replayer and go back a couple of hands.

After being a Stars regular for almost two decades I'm withdrawing my full bankroll, deleting the client and not coming back.

Its always amazing to see top-of-the-line companies decline due to their own ignorance/negligence/greed. How hard is it to understand what makes you great, and not **** that up? Given the amount of giant corporations that manage to **** it up, pretty hard I guess.

They have nobody but themselves to blame, and sadly the rot is too deep to really expect things will change. The corporate culture of this company is evident, and all I can do as a customer is voice my opinion and then choose where I will play.

Bump... I updated stars few days ago and have that aurora I believe and its very hard to look at.


The previous post ... that is how everyone can revert back to the old layout? Or you can only do that if you didn't update to aurora?

Easiest way:

Open notepad and paste the two lines on it that match your local client version ( separate versions for .eu and .com )

EU client:
COM client:
Save the file on your desktop as oldstars.bat ( use the save as function to not save it as a text file ) and close notepad.

Now clicking the newly created oldstars icon on your desktop will launch the good old version of the client and you won't have to manually removing anything every time you want to launch pokerstars.

The Carbon theme is strange, but better than the rest, moved down to the lowest graphic quality possible, but I keep lag-check back sets on the river. I play 2 tables.

It's tough to say but partypoker has actually the better software right now. GG.

Anyone else not able to save notes on stars? I'm wondering if it's bc of deleting ImgCache file for starshelper to work.

i had same problem dejavudu666, this aurora graphics is so bad and they have employed a new update , come to the rescue someone who knows something about this kind of thing for a fix

What Purps has writen is fine. For the UK, you will have to replace PokerStars.EU by PokerStars.UK on both lines though.
