Ok guys, we've got some news.

As predicted, authors of the MagicSeat script, decided to break the rules so they started distributing an updated version of the script with prohibited functionality among big but still closed group of players, warning people to keep this information secret. As it often happens, somebody leaked the info, so now we know who to report.

Lets just say that some of those names are very very sketchy at the tables so it wouldnt surprise me at all if a lot of players on that list are cheating with an altered script

If i see anything dodgy at the tables ill email stars support as im sure you do as well,
unfortunately the last email that stars support needs to reply is about 2 weeks old so i dont know if they will actually carefully read and research it

Damn if only someone wouldve predicted that it won't change much but give people who are willing to break the rules a giant edge

Hint: those Magic Seat people aren't the only one and won't be the only ones. The incentive so script is just too ****ing huge.

Youre also now aware of the fact that people were scripting without a problem and it needed an insider to leak them.

Also why did they post it publicly first? Shouldve just mentioned it to Stars so they can freeze their funds before the cheaters can emergency withdrawel

They obviously don't have the best possible detection methods yet, but players who are constantly getting the best seats at new tables while multi-tabling are going to get reported by others regularly. Seating scripts are some of the easiest 3rd party software tools to identify from the players' POV. If an account is playing multiple tables and is always getting a get a good seat at a new table then it should be easy to identify that person as someone who should be looked at closer for potentially using a seating script.

Even though it will not deter everybody from trying to use a seating script I still think it is a beneficial rule for the games. I think the benefits of banning seating scripts far outweigh the potential for a few idiots who risk their accounts by using one for a little while when others can't. Sure some people are going to risk it, but I don't think the risk is worth it. Which is worse between not being able to always get the best seats or not being able to play at all? Is risking your account at Stars really worth that risk? Not for any good players it isn't.

I do agree with your point about not making it public before Stars has a chance to suspend the accounts and freeze their funds.

but like others already said (not sure, if you did), you should first let stars do their **** and then make it public. ofc they are also reading 2p2. you can still out players after stars did nothing

We didn't out all of them. These are just a few who use it most likely.

Something is already cooking regarding the rest of script users. Stay tuned.

The current system is fine and I'd rather have a few scripters risking their bankroll using delayed/slowed scripts than seat me only.

They are the worst regs in the pool anyway. The table starters aka the better regs probably make more money with a few weaker scripters in the games.

I've enjoyed playing on stars quite a bit more lately as a result of the changes.

Can you explain me what is the problem with the easy seat feature? it doesnt cause the "R" blocking issue and it doesnt choose tables based on the players in them.

Players will still leave bad games in seat me and stay in good ones. Its a system where less games run and players aren't incentivized to start them.

edit: if you want tables that arent based on players in them (ie random opponents, there is zoom. which is also a lot faster so nood to make a slower zoom-like game)

+1 but even those few scripters won't be here for long, not on stars at least. We're working on it. No 'seat me' required.

Why was this not done years ago, so much better now.

My guess is that its a lot easier to ban commercial scripts whose developers follow rule changes rather than 100 different private devs who dont. I'm assuming a vast majority were using these, and a few years ago everyone had a private developer. Of course that will change now, but its still an easier change to implement.

At this point its very clear that several players are still using scripts. I have complained to support about specific players multiple times and they are still playing now.

There is one specific player I know who 100% is using one and several others that look very suspicious. Its pretty obvious when they are on 10 tables with fish and literally never start a game.
