Caution
Tomorrow 12/03/18 - In order to log into your account you will need to have civic app what is available only for android 6.0+ and iOS 9.0+.
If you don't have this type smartphone or app don't work for any other reason (crashes, verification issues ect.) you will not be able to verify your account in any different way and potentially will not be able to login into your CoinPoker account.

Not all devices with ios9+ work either. My phone is windows based so couldn't use civic but I have 2nd phone with ios 9.3.5 which isn't compatible either.

I am pretty confused about limiting players to only theses who can use this crypto app and don't using some other established verification method you can run in browser.

I readup about this civic app and i dont like this at all:

How does Civic work? A user signs up to the Civic app, which collects various identifying information for them. All of that is passed through to either a government agency or a third party identification verification service depending on the country.

from civic website:

"Satisfy KYC requirements with Civic’s easy-to-use, private, and secure solution."

"Additional KYC enhancements such as verification of utility bills and full liveness testing are coming soon."

The app even wants you to give your fingerprint if your smartphone has a fingerprint scanner.

"Additional KYC enhancements such as verification of utility bills and full liveness testing are coming soon." This is in addition to your mandatory emailadress, phonenumber, and who knows what more info this app can retrieve from your smartphone through its mandatory permissions needed.

Remember that Coinpoker is attached to your ethereum adress, and all past transactions are public on the blockchain. This is just waaay to much information i feel comfortable with.

Wasnt Coinpoker supposed to be anonymous?

So if anyone is willing to help me please PM me, I would be really thankful, which yeah, doesnt help you much but maybe you will be reincarnated in Liv Boree panties instead of Phil Hellmuth`s panties::P
Sure, address?

Lol civic is totally useless, no wonder why its price has dropped so much. My phone doesnt have android 6.0+ neihter. I liked the site, but I guess I will not be playing anymore there.

Coinpoker, you cant relay in a service that is so exclusive. Allow other methods for people to verify their identity.

It's a double edged sword. People are always complaining about bots and multi accounters, but when it's time to put in a few extra steps for verification, they will complain that it is too complicated.

Sure as **** won't be giving away fingerprints tho.

Still amazed at how much money they are giving away to the micro players who have invested so little in the site. The high stakes prize pool is only 2.5x bigger even though the stakes are ~100x bigger

They do more then email and phone number (basic verification) only for USA.
CoinPoker seem verify now only email and phone number what make it even more absurd to not use some simpler established method then new crypto app exclusively for people with new phone.
Obviously it only guess and speculation but it might benefit them personally in some way.

A simpler method would allow violators to create tens multi-accounts using cheap virtual phone numbers. If I am not mistaken, the Civic app eliminates this opportunity, because each time you want to create new account, you would have to have a new smartphone.

Sure, there definitely is some benefits for Civic as there is for any verification method, however i am not sure if downside of anyone without newer smartphone not being able to verify their account is not lot bigger problem.
I am not expert in 3rd party verification services but i would think there is better, with less limitations for users and still secure way what is not crypto app whose "Ecosystem development" began only half year ago after doing crowdfunding (ICO) to fund it development.
However i am not sure if they would be accepted to use more reputable verification services as they are illegal (unlicensed) poker room.

Is each point in the leaderboard one hand?

I'd love a way to verify my account. I enjoy playing here and find the software decent enough. But I do not use a smartphone, and use a desktop pc to play. Would anyone mind outlining a simple step by step guide for pc users to verify their accounts?

This is about PC users:

Guy asked also about not having smartphone and basically you cannot verify your account without having smartphone who runs Civic app and in their words - "At worst case, you can simply lent it from your friend."

Basically for now there is no way to verify your account without smartphone who runs Civic app.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

In the above mentioned scenario , this code that you are supposed to scan, will that appear in my pc desktop client, for me to scan and use on my "borrowed from a friend" smartphone?
It would be quite a challenge to create a more difficult process. It's actually quite impressive.

Yes that correct, you need setup civic account via phone and then need login into your CoinPoker account from PC and scan code with phone.

Hey,

I am playing on Coinpoker since early december. Played mainly the 100NL+ cash games. Normally 1-3 tables run for each stake (always the same 3-4 guys with some random player(s)), right now 20+ tables run at 100NL deep and 10 tables SS (90% unknow names, for me atleast). Did something happen over the weekend? Compared with friday that is a 10x in playerpool

(upps 'rake/handrace' started today, sick to see that upswing in traffic)

So anyone who does not use smart phone is not able to login and play on CoinPoker anymore and their CHP funds are locked (stolen in a way). Their rep is disappeared as well, nice job CP:P

Nice timing for some, with this rakerace

Hey all,

Using Civic was a piece of cake. I did it this morning with zero problems. All you need is an Android 6.0 or better phone or an Iphone. If you don't have one of those, go and get a cheap phone from Amazon and switch your sim card. Easy as pie. Yes....its not convenient for some of you, and yes it may cost you some money to do it....BUT everything good comes with a price. Have faith that it is the right thing to do.

Its a small price to pay for the safety of multi accounters and bots that are everywhere on the other networks. Now will it eliminate every possible kind of cheating, probably not, but it is a great start.

See you all at the tables.

Was easy, asks for phonenumber and email
03-12-2018 , 12:37 PM
Would somebody lend me some CHP dust so I can verify?
