888poker deducted $900 from my account for spurious reason! [Resolved]

Hi, my name is Gabriel Costa, I play by the nickname kafelna19 on 888 and kafelnikovz on Pokerstars.

A few months ago 888 decided to confiscate $900 from my account because I wasn't playing much on their site, I left this money there and although I wasn't playing much I would always play some tournaments or cash game hands in this meantime.

Either so they confiscate ~$900 from my account, under the allegation I received this money via transfer (a friend send it to me) for over 6 months and didn't play enough to keep them.

Where does that make any sense? I was hoping to resolve this without having to post here, but they don't seem to care.

I'm well know in the Brazilian community and can provide reference if needed.

Re: 888poker deducted $900 from my account for spurious reason!

Some general points here:
-You should keep records of all your communication with the operator.

-You should proof read what you write to them (and post on this forum) before sending/posting it. Make sure that a stranger can understand what you are saying. Imagine that you're writing to someone who is smarter than you, but who knows nothing about the issue at hand.

-In the first instance, if you are unhappy with their initial decision, contact them directly, and let them know why.

-If, after directly explaining your point of view, you continue to have a dispute, ask for the issue to be escalated for re-review.

-Many legitimate gaming operators have licenses from Governments where they "operate". In the case of many online operators, the jurisdiction that they "operate" in are where their servers are located. If you continue to be unhappy, you can approach the regulator with your concerns. You can obtain the contact details either by searching on the internet, or by asking the gaming site to give them to you.

-If the regulator is not an option, or does not satisfactorily resolve your concern, you may be able to consider taking legal action. Please consult a professional legal adviser for further assistance with this.

-You'll get more sympathy from the forum if you post - clearly - a copy of all correspondence with the site.

Thanks for your reply @HanSoloDK and @Josem, here is some prints of the conversation I had with them, of course I tried to resolve things but it seems they are not likely to change their decision.

What exactly happened is that I received $1000 transfer by a friend on 888, and since then I start playing very occasionally but I never stayed more than 6 months without playing there, after 18 months they decided to confiscate $900 according to their rules, Apparently.

This money that 888 took from my account doesn't show at the transaction history, which is a bit strange.

This rule they have doesn't make sense at all, that's why I'm posting the case here.

Sorry, I am having a problem to insert the pictures. But, you can see at the links below:

DAMN! I was thinking about transferring some money to 888 poker, just to check how is the action there. After reading this post, no way I'm going to play there.

I can't stand this kind of thing, it is theft, plain and simple.

I can't understand how almost a thousand dollars can be "accidentally" deducted like this.

Yes, I Received a email from 888 yesterday reimbursing me for $910. Thanks for that, it came to me as a 'bonus' thought. I'm trying to find out how much I need to pay in rake in order to clear that.

If it's not something absurd it's all good.

Very sad how 888 managed this , this need to be known by more people so it wont happen again.
