Hello guys,

Today in the middle of my daily grind, suddenly the poker client closed and i was not able to log in again.
I checked my emails and received the following email from Operations Team:


Dear xxx,

This is the Operations Team at 888poker and we are contacting you with regards to your account with username "xxx".

As you may be aware we carry out security checks on all of our members at some point during their membership with us. During a security check on your account we have been alerted to suspicious game play indicating that the use of Artificial Intelligence may be involved.

The use of Artificial Intelligence is strictly against our terms and conditions and will not be tolerated on our site. This email is to inform you that we no longer require your membership on any site owned or operated by Cassava Enterprises.

Please refrain from opening any further accounts as these too will be closed from use and no monies refunded.

I don't know if this is an automated email or a real person wrote this, but the accusations about "the use of Artificial Intelligence" are not true.
I am shocked about this and don't know where it came from.
They didn't even contact me with a proper explanation or ask for any details.
This seems really "vague" to me.

I am using holdem manager HUD and 888Caption2 (trial version) as a betting hotkeys and sng registrator.
As far as i know none of these programs is forbidden.
In 888Caption2 site
it mentions the program is officially approved by 888 support so i took their word for it.
Does anyone knows if there have been any updates since then?
Also if that matters, my account is not yet verified as i was never asked to.
I have already emailed them and waiting for a respond.
Any advice and recommendation from more experienced players would be really helpful.

Hello guys,

I ve been reading 2+2 in the past and i wished i ve had registered here under other circumstances.
On 25 July i started my daily sng session at 888.
After a while in the middle of my game the poker client kicked me out and when i tried to log in again i got a message that my account was temporarily disabled and contact support.
I also received the following email from cassava:

They re claiming my "game play indicating that the use of Artificial Intelligence may be involved." Does that mean im a bot?
Well how can that be true?

I do use hm2 hud during play.
In the past i was also using placemint.
Since a couple of months i ve been using 888Caption2 and activated 1 month trial version recently.
Here it says 888Caption is officially approved.
Does anyone know if that has changed since then?
I don't think any of these programs is forbidden or considered using "Artificial Intelligence".

I stack my tables and with x key as a check/fold hotkey, many times i ve caught myself folding preflop big pocket pairs(that time when you want to cut your finger).
And its not just my idea, my database proves this.
Would a bot ever misclick ffs?
Also i don't even consider myself a good player, still learning the game.
A break even/slightly winning player.
So this accusation about "Artificial Intelligence" came out of the blue.
I want to mention that i have disabled the chat box and never type or read anything.
So i guess someone got mad and reported me (?).

I got really upset about this, i ve been playing there for about a year and slowly moving up in the limits.
I have already emailed them but no response yet, today i sent another detailed email.

What do you guys think?
Any advice would be helpful.

Were you learning the game or were you learning how to use loads of different software that gives you edge over people who don't use it?

Anyone can invest on a hud and use it to improve their game.
Also reading 2+2 forum is giving me edge over people who are not.

Why don't you list every piece of software you have used while playing on 888 so maybe someone can help you out. Clearly the site has found something wrong with your account, they wouldn't just ban you specifically without some reason. Afterall they are in the business of collecting rake.

I already mentioned which software i have been using during play.
Here i ll list them again if someone missed them in my previous posts:

During my play i used to use holdem manager 2 + placemint.
In about the last 2 months i switched to holdem manager 2 + 888Caption2.
Off the tables i use sngwizard and PokerStrategy.com Equilab to analyze my play and help me study.

Sure 888Caption2 helps you multi-table and increase your volume.
But i don't think any of the above software considered "Artificial Intelligence" software or is prohibited.

Yesterday i received the following email:


Dear,

This is the Operations Team at 888poker and we are contacting you with regards to your account with username "Anarch0fish".

We are in receipt of your email.

As stated in the user agreement " In the event that we deem that any Software Aid has been used, we reserve the right to take any action we see fit, including immediately blocking access to the Services to the offending user, terminating such user's account and seizing all monies held in such account"

With regards to your account, this has been reviewed and the decision to discontinue your membership still stands. This decision is final and has only been taken after careful consideration of all factors involved.

Please refrain from opening any further accounts with any site managed by Cassava Enterprises as these too will be blocked and no deposits returned. We now consider this matter closed, any further correspondence regarding this matter will only evoke the same response.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

Basically they re saying "we accuse you for being a bot, because we can, and take all your money".
They didn't provide any evidence or explanation on the "Software Aid" they accuse me of using.
If they took the time to investigate my game and analyze the hand histories they would have found all the tilt going during my sessions or misclicks folding premium hands.
I am not using any kind of "Artificial Intelligence" and it is me making the decisions.

I am willing to cooperate with them but they are saying that they will ignore any further responses.
What should i do guys?
Any advice would be helpful.

And some hours after the above reply from cassava i received another email from 888suport...
(at first i emailed cassava but i wasn't getting any replies so i decided also to email 888suport about the case)

I don't know what to think about the whole situation.
Sure i am relieved that my account got finally reinstated.
But the behavior i received through the support is worrying.
On one moment "we close your account because we think you are a bot" and some hours later "ok excuse us there was a mistake"...

I dont know if i still want to play there...
And the sad thing is that (almost) all rooms follow these practices.
You have to prove that you are not an elephant.
This is madness!
How would a pro feel, one morning having his account banned and his much bigger balance gone?
This is a nightmare and i cant even imagine that.

They cant keep continuing this arbitrary behavior and just get away with it.
Food for thought, this can happen to anybody, anytime.
So before praising companies for their bad ass security systems, have some sympathy for your co-poker fellows.

Thanks to everyone who helped out and the ones who didn't.

Well the title should be edited to Vol.2 [Unresolved].
Almost a year later my account got disabled again for the second time due to the same reason...
I know it was stupid of me continuing playing there, but i never imagined i would come through the same crap.

On 25/05 i disconnected from the poker client, my computer froze and after that some tables were unresponsive, auto folding every hand and i was not being able to hit "I am back".
This costed me some buyins and i reported the technical issues i was experiencing to the support asking for a partial refund.

A couple of hours later i receive a mail from Operations Team:

As you may be aware we carry out security checks on all of our members at some point during their membership with us. During a security check on your account we have been alerted to suspicious activity indicating that the use of Artificial Intelligence may be involved.

The use of Artificial Intelligence is strictly against our User Agreement and will not be tolerated on our site and as a result your account has been suspended. If you have any information which would assist with our investigation or if you feel that the decision to place restrictions on your account has been taken in error, please contact us so that we can clarify the situation.

I mailed them back denying the "use of Artificial Intelligence" and explaining i was doing the same thing i did everyday during my sessions.
I also reminded them that the same incident occurred last year which in the end appeared to be a "false positive" of their security system.
So i expected to sort this out soonner this time.
But no. Today i received the following response:

The desicion is final, like it was the previous time.
They ve proved in the past that they are taking careful considerations...
I am sick of them.
They seem to ve learn nothing, after the last years banwave and lack of profesionalism.
I ll wait what they have to reply in the following days but i have low expectations.

Received the following email which left me with mixed thoughts:

I was never informed that my account was temporarily restricted.
I would be cool with that.
In the contrary, the account was blocked for good and their decision was "final"...
Anyway, probably wont be there for long, to find out if it ll happen again next year.

If the site is very profitable for you then obviously just understand that this is likely to happen from time to time. Have a backup option to go to when it does. If you have better or equal options then ditch them if it's not worth the headache.
