Finally used the last of my Stars coins today.Online poker is nearly well and truely over as it was known.Stars new management is just too fkn greedy and has increased rake exponentially.Poker Stars dude who has been posting here since threads inception even admitted that Stars had detected most of the major bot crews themselves, that would be an admission to me, that our concerns re bot rings has been more than justified, and definately more rampant than Stars had previously sort of acknowledged.

The only good thing i garnered from online poker was being made aware of training sites such as CardRunners etc, and i learned a hella lot from these places that i prolly def never learn playing live, and as such are now going to play live as opposed to wasting my time and $$$ sponsoring online gangs of botters, collusioners, tinhorns, gippers, side winders and belly shooters!

Stars....site of Pro Multi grinders and ever decreasing rec players, have fun getting raped for rake you regs!
See ya Stars,Kiss my hirsute derriere!

tbh I found it quite surprising even that piosolver wasn't permitted to be open at the same time as the stars client. It takes about four minutes for me to run most basic sims, which is surely far too long to be any use? I guess if you're playing reg tables with a three minute time bank and want to look at river spots then sure... but what is more unusual IMO is that it's not even allowed to be open when the client, but no tables are open. I wanted to send some money the other day but had to wait until my pio script had finished.
The reasons given to us by Stars support were:

1)graphical interface can't be run because it has ability to save/recall ranges
2)the solver can't be run because it, in theory, has ability to calculate solutions from the turn in real time

Notice that 1) makes about any software not kosher, including trackers (you can save filters with custom ranges and use them as charts).
2) is a bit of stretch because not only you would need to input exact turn ranges (which you can't possibly know) but then solve a tree with many sizes from the turn which is not doable in real time even on the most powerful hardware out there.

Still, I am fine with those rules as I think usage of any poker related software during play should be prohibited (and everything should be allowed when not playing). I think the rules impacting us are very strict and not really based on the same principles as the ones affecting databases/HUDs though.

One good thing about it is that PioSOLVER is safe to use as it autocloses if you open Stars client (it gives you 30 seconds to either close Stars client or wait for it to terminate itself) and it won't open at all if the Stars client is already running. There is no way you forget about it and get warnings/bans because of it.

It aint stars fault you cant beat the game. And you do know that there are several other sites to play than stars?

I love it when people just cant make the effort to beat the games and starts to blame multigrinders (that are the easiest regs to beat) rake, softwares and rng. Just learn to play braaaaaaah.

Yes thankyou we are well aware that Stars is not the only site out there but nice of you to alert me,
I love playing at the site i now play, actually have some FUN playing there. As for can't beat the game,i see that i am about 2 k in front on Stars, best result being 2nd in a 1400 man MTT @ $!0+1 buy in for $1450, but i was never a multi tabler, brains too small to cope.

As for 'can't make the effort to beat the game' I as opposed to lots of those who 'learned the game' have something called a "Life" that i find far more interesting and important than spending countless hours at a keyboard playing poker. I play it when i got FA else on/to do, and Stars is just too difficult to play on,considering how I wish to play,IE have a bit of fun and a laugh (mebbe). When was the last time that YOU had fun while playing, grinding becomes just that....a grind, and bad beats and all that goes with multi table grinding, appears to me like it would take the 'fun' element out of it, especially when having a bad downturn, and if you are backed it would be a nightmare when one is in 'make-up' mode, can't be much 'fun' in that either.

Playing on PKR is definately 'fun' and also PKR has live tournies where they all meet up and battle it out, they have also had a couple of marriages where they met on PKR and then attended the Live tournies and decided to hook up with each other. Stars is yours and you are most welcome to play there if you wanna battle the pro regs, and i hope you have 'fun'.

The last straw for me at Stars was when they were having a promotion where you needed to get a certain hand to get a bonus $$$, so i had to get dealt AA to unlock my quite sizable bonus by days end, this was about 11 hours away so i thought this shouldn't be too hard, wrong! when the day rolled over i had played over 600 hands and still not been dealt the elusive AA.Now hand disbursement calcs or whatever they are reckon you get dealt AA once in every how many hands?? two to three hundred isn't it, something like that, but it was more than 600 hands actually if memory serves me correctly, but i thought at the time that Stars has lost me now!
