Alex,
Any word on how this will be rolled out to users?
Will it be a fixed cost for all players? Free for all players? Or maybe different for each player based on VIP status? Just wondering if Stars is ready to release any details yet. Thanks.

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token
This is probably fairly obvious to most people who don't work in marketing, but it would be good if this thing did NOT have a large, colorful PokerStars logo on it. I think the ones that my former company passed out had the "drop in any mailbox" thing on them, but nothing that would link them to our company.
The "I lost my security token" thing also needs to be well thought-out. At my old company we picked these things up in person from IT, after showing our company ID. Getting them disabled was an easy call to the help desk. I'll be really POed when some prankster contacts PokerStars and reports my token is lost.

I don't mean to be difficult, but we'll release information in the fullness of time.
I'm sure 2p2 will be amongst the first to hear. You're clearly important stakeholders in this event, and we'll do our best to keep you informed as these things progress.
Regards,
Michael

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token
None of my bank accounts, business or personal, even have this. Nor do the brokarege accounts. And all have online access.
It'd be great, sure, but a lot simpler would be a written guarantee that you are not responsible for withdrawals made by another party.

Besides your password you would have to enter what's on a hardware token that you actually physically have. Sometimes the hardware token shows a changing number that you enter.

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token
wow this would be so amazing to have. the level of safety i would feel would skyrocket. and thats saying alot as i feel like stars is already the safest place to keep money.
here in the netherlands my bank has an online banking feature where you receive a "random reader", a little device where you stick your bank card (the card you use to take money from ATMs) in and you have to type in your PIN and it generates a number that you have to enter on the screen to log into your account. i reckon its a similar thing. and it is basically as good as hack proof imo

Generates random number to make sure that is really you is logging in.
Internet banking usually use this.
When you're about to send money to some one, it asked you you're password AND numbers that generated by this Key generator, again to make sure, that it is really you whose sending the money.
I could imagine when you try to log-in to Stars, Stars client would say something like this
User ID: Playerxxx
Pasword: xxxxxxxxxx
53896
Please enter the numbers above to you're StarsToken and press "something".
Then fill the box bellow with the number generated by StarsToken.
______________

I obv vote "Yes" for this.

he would have to also know your password. thus creating an added layer of protection.

I believe that 2 different devices would also give different responses, even when given the same code. So the bad guy would have to steal your device, and know your password and login.
