I've integrated RSA servers in large scale environments and know for a fact Stars can integrate a full solution including a server and software licensing for less than $100k, not including time spent on software engineering for their own executable or actual devices, the latter of which they could easily pass the cost on to the end user.

Is our account security worth that amount to them?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see considering their silence in this thread.

The majority of my play is currently on Stars, however the first site (that actually pays players) to release this type of security device will instantly have my loyalty.

That's how huge this is to me.. I'd move to any site that integrates this solution that is somewhat reputable and has a relatively good history of paying out in a timely manner.

i have one of these for online banking with one of my accounts. it is annoying at first but after while you see how super awesome it is for security. with this+secure id+password you are basically hack proof.

Yes, I got it. Stars is saying they are working on it ("High priority") but not ready to give a date.

+1 for me here Stars. I pay $20k+/yr. in rake, but never feel comfortable leaving that much of my BR online, mainly out of fear of getting hacked. With something like this in place I would feel much safer and most certainly start leaving more and more $ in my Stars account and start playing higher stakes games=more rake paid etc.

Blizzard now has this option of World of Warcraft players. Here is a link to their FAQ about it. Blizzard is charging 6 euros for this and it is optional. BTW: the link to the FAQ seems to be slashdotted right now. And no, I don't play this game so I don't know why it is important to have this extra level of security on a game where no real-world money is involved. I can see why guys who have played 100s or 1000s or hours would be willing to spend $8 to secure their game.

My former employer used this sort of device to allow remote access to the corporate network. That company has a pretty clueless IT department and I was expecting a fiasco. It actually went very well. I used it to connect to the network hundreds of times from all over the world without a problem--every now and then I would have to try twice to get logged in.

For something like $8 this should be a no brainer for Stars. I would certainly pay that for the extra security. They could also allow buying the darn things with FPP, or give them away free when you reach a certain level of supernovaness.

But i'd play the same amount at Stars regardless... Excellent support, software, and rewards program.

Between this and the blowout results of this poll, the refusal of the poker sites to incorporate one of these just makes me mad.
