Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token

achth - been way more than a year. I would say closer to 3-4 years as I seem to remember this topic back around my early days on 2+2.
A pre-UIGEA discussion about this brought up the fact that William Hill and Prima are a couple of sites that don't have the same log-in ID as your on-table handle.

This situation is part of why I'm so nitty about not wanting my Stars name to be public....it's already half of your log-in.

Even if one wanted to (and LOL at that), they wouldn't be able to.

If that's what you wanted, there was an option to make the voters names visible when you set it up. Of course, some would argue that creates a biased poll.

God this would be so awesome

to put it in perspective, I would give serious thought about switching my play to FTP if they offered this, and I currently hate the thought of actually having to play on FTP

Seems to be a good idea. Maybe some from Pokerstars can respond in this thread?

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token

I voted no.

Too much of a hassle and they're going to end up having to hire a bunch of support staff just to deal with all the people having issues with the things. I would rather see them work on other security upgrades first.

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token

I think rather than _requiring_ a token which obviously would piss off a ton of casual players, players that have hit platinum could have access to it as an added layer of security ( I'm sure poker players w/ a ton of money in their accounts are much much more careful than world of warcraft players - but still, its all too easy to get an account keylogged ).

I'm not sure how anyone could vote no to an optional token system for higher stakes players who have requested it.

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token

After having someone attempt to change my password a few times within minutes, I definitely voted yes. Although the Stars security team handled my issue better than I imagine any other site would, I wouldn't mind having something like this to add another layer of security. It doesn't have to be mandatory, but I would love to have the option.

I don't think too many of us are looking for a mandatory security token. In fact, I would argue that it's in Star's best interest to not even advertise it to most of their player base. There are a lot of naive players (many of them fish) and it would probably be best to not scare them away by reminding of the possibility of hacked accounts.

Re: 2+2 Petition For Stars To Introduce A Security Token

I'm with ya Alobar.
This really is one of the few Stars requests/ideas that I consider to be pretty important.

Please consider this Stars. I already feel okay about my money there overall and know you guys would be really on the ball if something were to happen to my account. But having something like this would make me feel so much better. And I think it would be super-warmly received by many of your higher bankroll players.
Players who are keeping $20k or $100k or even more on your site [which I assume you are earning interest on] almost certainly is deserving of this level of security.
Not that the $400 bankroll players shouldn't be able to get it too though but obviously there are some players on your site who have an awful lot to lose should some type of hacking disaster happen to them.

Why even have the no option if it is that ridiculous?
