Hello,

Like I said I can't proceed when certifying my real money account. I haven't played in a long while and not sure what to do now. Once I set my responsible gaming limits. Once I click the green button it says please wait while your request is being processed and it send me straight back to the previous screen.
I already waited half a day, but nothing changed. Can anyone help me?

Sander

Hi, I have just rejoined Pokerstars after not having played for best part of ten years.

I am currently just finding my feet playing some SSNL, and I am fairly appalled at the Cash-Out option, which Stars seem to have introduced as a featured aimed at people who are bad at math, who are anxious to surrender part of their equity when all-in, before the board runs out.

I am sure with a little patience I could watch a bit more closely, and figure out just exactly what percentage of equity we are being invited to surrender, but I am pretty sure this must have been analysed to death on 2+2 when this feature launched, so I thought I would ask the question on here?

Anyway, it is tilting me, to have to wait for the morons to decide whether or not to exercise this option each time!

Hi all,

Just coming back from a 2 yearish lay off.

For the life of me I cannot figure out if the all in cash out feature at PokerStars is value or not.

My initial thought is the 1% they take is a killer but then it does do away with the variance but so is the 1% worth my 90% hand getting sucked out on? I would say yes.

Does anyone have any clearer insight into this?

Sorry if this has been done to death. I did a title thread search and could not find anything.

look up the average pot size of all in hands in your game in bb and take 1% and look at your winning % and figure it out if you can afford it. i think for PLO 1% is like 3bb/100 or something. kind of expensive but then again i once ran like 20bb/100 minus EV for a very long time and that hurt too.

Many thanks for replying.

I took the insurance a few times and cost myself when I won huge pots and the times I did not take it I lost big pots so I lost my stack. lol. I disabled the feature. I ain't paying 1%. I will live with the variance.

Hi all,

how many online cashgame hands are played per year ?
Eventually, do we know how many hands are played on stars or other big sites per day or per year?

I don't know if there's a place where we can find answers to this kind of questions.

https://www.pokerscout.com/ say there are 311,138 Online Players. I guess they mean "per week" because a german study stated there were 5.5M online players, worldwide in 2010.

Stars used to make a big deal about their milestone hands - you could search the forums and probably get a good idea of what kind of volume was happening on Stars. But that was quite a few years ago.

Not sure if other sites keep constant hand history numbers like that, but if any do you could probably get an idea by looking at hand histories people have posted.

That made me curious, so I googled. Apparently they announced their 200 billionth hand in Spring 2019:

Hey is there still an active rep for pokerstars here,

Having nearly unbelievable trouble with their support which have imposed a laughable $50/ month deposit limit on my 10yr+ good standing account with them.

Basicly deposited i think less than about 1k in a month, apparently it triggered a responsible gaming check or whatever.

Got emailed an account funding form and demanded all sorts of ridiculous stuff.
Supplied my bank statements and savings account details, my credit union saving, my yearly tax report from revenue for 2020, my drivers licience and now they've reopened my account with a deposit limit of $50 a month they wont remove!

Support has gone downhill a lot since their merge!

Hi! Im writing this thread of desesperation because i dont know what else to do.

2 months ago i deposit on my paypal account to get a 20€ bonus to get a 5€ ticket.
When i tried to whitdraw some money, they asked to verify my paypal account and then i realized that the paypal account i used had my wife name, because the card from bank is in there name and we both use the paypal (and card). Also there is my 2 personal emails in there. Same as PokerStars.

I tried to send documents and also from hers and got denied from pokerstars.pt because it wasnt mine just because of the name.
After alot of emails back and fourth and deleted my paypal account and created one with my email and my name.

After sendind alot of emails pokerstars.pt, they always send the same automatic responses.
"send copy of original document" - i sent
"print of photo in the paypal account showing url and the name" - i sent
"copy of my identification" - i sent
etc etc etc

I dont know what to do more. I have been playing on pokerstars since 2009.
I have sent so many documents. I have deposit and withdraw hundred of times.

Now i only get automatic responses..
Dunno what to do more.

Sry for the english. Thanks

I seem to remember some site that is tracking cash results that someone posted a link to a few months back but CANNOT remember what it was called for the life of me. It's not Russian PTR it was a smaller much less known site but was tracking current results for a bunch of different sites. Anyone know what I'm talking about or have a link?

How do you use Discord?

I have seen several mentions of Discord, regarding study groups or a poster will mention joining their Discord group.

I downloaded the app but a search didn't show much about poker and nothing about PLO.

I am pretty much clueless, could someone give me a quick Discord101?

I started collecting data from ACR last year, including game and player performance data such tournaments played, chip count changes, rebuys, place finished, bounties and payouts. From it I can see who's winning and loosing, how often they play and at what stakes. For games I can also see which ones have an overlay and, theoretically, which ones are soft based on player past performance. I haven't done a lot of analysis on the data, just basic stuff and added some visualization.

Would any of this data be useful other people? Is there any specific analysis that could be interesting or helpful?

Theoretically, the action box should be check/fold. If you get a walk, you would collect the blinds. If the big blind was called and flop was seen, then your hand would lose to any action.

Recently PokerStars completed a software client update. Now when you log in, you hear a 3 second sound byte of a sound. I can't get this song out of my head.

What song is this?

I think it's A Fifth of Beethoven by Walter Murphy. They have been using it in their ads in the UK recently.

the thing about limiting how much we can keep on a site is it makes it hard to play sustainably. Its all very well for recreational players to say this but people who are making a profit/subsidizing or making their sole income from the game it gets hard.

On any given day with spin and goes and MTTS combined I can exceed a stake of £500 in total games. Obviously this is lots of small stake games combined and the odds of losing everything even if one was a bad player are still slim. but on a small bankroll of under 200 busto is definitely a possibility.

because of UK gambling regulations I do not feel comfortable making large deposits to a site mainly because it can trigger affordability checks and some dont count poker as an income and there is no way I can justify a four figure deposit to a poker site based on my day jobs income.

so the largest deposit I have done in the last year was $500 or £360 I grind this money up but on one site I currently have a few k and on another I expect to pass the k mark within a week or two.

If I cash out most of this I cant then go and deposit again and again and with draw again and again because this triggers affordability checks.

So the only way to do it is deposit a small amount of around a few hundred grind this up, until over saturation for stakes we can beat then look at stepping up/cashing out small amounts as we go depending on the game and what win rate is.

If you live in a country that has no such restrictions or checks then you can regularly deposit the day you want to play and withdraw that night when your done and then deposit again the next day you want to play. With instant transactions both ways and no affordability checks/other issues been brought up this actually makes sense.

unfortunately we dont have this situation in the UK.

That's the state of the game. Poker isn't a very secure way to make a living.

I actually wonder what percent of players on Global got that money. They didn't just give it to everyone, you had to log in and claim it.

This.

Each day has a different amount to be claimed. It has always between $.25 and $3.00. You have to log on each day to claim the amount for that day.
