Just clicked the link, he said they feel it's coming along and expect to launch in the fall. That's hardly the language I was expecting given the excitement here. That sounds like a definite maybe to me, not a done deal by any stretch.

Its because in November of last year he said he didn't want to risk anything in the process and wound let people know when they were close to obtain get a license. This release essentially confirms that.

Not going to matter what site comes to nj unless there is a pact with more states or international. Need more players bottom line.

They definitely will not be coming with international players, just NJ pool only.

Player pooling is definitely going to take some time. As with the NV/DE player pooling, it took over a year to get done. For Pokerstars to pool with other states, we can only hope states considering to legalize internet gambling/poker has wording within their respective bill that allows Pokerstars to apply for a license (that also applies to whether Pokerstars even receives approval from the gaming authority within each state). 888 is the only site right now that absolutely has the advantage for player pooling as they are associated in all three states. Partypoker has only NJ but has not yet launched in NV. Player pooling would be bad for them at this time. Also for NV, Pokerstars is blacklisted in NV because of the "bad actors" clause. The progression of internet poker has been steady but yet complicated at the same time.

why bad for partypoker to pool players at this time?

888 would have the most players, and NJ players would probably start flocking there instead.

Poker Stars will go live if PA launches and they are approved here in NJ.

I find it hard to believe it would include them. Does anyone know what is being proposed?

Nothing is being proposed.

Regardless of whether PS gets a license or not, you must be physically located in NJ to play on NJ online-poker sites.

What is everyone's best guess for the casino or casino chain that PS would be linked to? I would hope they are doing it through CE. This would give them an in with most states that have a casino within it's borders already.

I'm just thinking Pa here. Because then NJ could link up with them and we have 2.5x or great size player pools.

Up to this point new article still point to resorts also hoping for CE.

Encouraging news. Significant increases in traffic from both Delaware and Nevada post merger.

Nothing new from the NJDGE regarding additional sites in the March 15 - March 31 activities.

http://www.njdge.org/docs/Rulings/20...31/Summary.pdf

http://www.njdge.org/docs/Petitions/2015/03312015.pdf

However, the following report was made available on the site on March 27th. This is not a report that is written to promote online gambling.

It is a condensed history of the first 14 months of NJ activity - November 2013 to December 2014.

Skimmed it. Extremely Responsible Gambling slanted without users input.

Quote:
This report, prepared pursuant to N.J.S.A. 5:12-95.18, is the first in a series of four annual reports that will examine the impact of Internet gaming on problem gambling and gambling addiction.

The current report covers the first year of Internet gaming in New Jersey. Subsequent reports will be issued in the first quarter of each calendar year, as specified in a Memorandum of Agreement between the Division, Rutgers Center for Gambling Studies, and the Department of Human Services.

Future reports will examine the relationship of play patterns, use of responsible gaming features, and the prevalence of Internet gaming in New Jersey to problem gambling.

For BWIN/PARTY/Borgata:

Quote:
The Rivers and SugarHouse are owned by Rush Street Gaming, leading to rampant speculation that Bwin.party has hopped into bed with that entity.

The Rivers also comes in third in terms of gaming revenue in the state, making it the top casino not named Sands or Parx. Rush Street also operates casinos in Illinois and New York, two other states often mentioned as possibilities for regulated igaming.
http://www.pokerupdate.com/news/busi...bwin-party-pa/

For PokerStars:

Sands of Bethlehem is definitely out.

PARX would be a likely candidate.

CIE (Philadelphia Harrah's) is a possibility - the properties outside of Bankruptcy.

Penn National Gaming would be a decent choice because of their locations in other states.

Unfortunately, all this speculation is moot until movement in PA Legislature.

In NJ we need our astute NJDGE to cut the deals behind the scenes in order to benefit in compacts for increased player liquidity. Hasn't happened yet.

They have wanted to do it for a long time but christie hasnt acted upon it I think. There was a politician from nj talking about that in an article. He was wondering y christie never made any moves to join nv and delaware and those states wanted to accept nj with open arms from wat he said. This was all during the bridge scandal.

Is there any good reason why any state wouldn't want to be part of a merger? As long as it's set up in a way where the states with higher players pools are compensated with a proportional take for the traffic they provide, I don't see how anybody could be against it.

NJ player pooling will happen but we do not know when it will happen. Too many dynamics to see NJ pooling anytime soon. They will probably wait for PA to legalize Internet poker to pool with them.
