Hello,

unfortunate thing happened to me, I got banned from WPN for botting / RTA use whilst I didn't cheat. I will share the whole story here, so other regs can be more careful with their money.

So, for last 8 months (estimate) I played on WPN. Main limits were NL200 blitz and nl400-600 reg tables. I played on various skins, SNs in brackets, starting YaPoker (BentleyGucci), ACR (****DanceWMeh) and TruePoker (Dejwill). I changed skins mainly because of clearing the FDB which is for my BR a very nice booster at this point in time. And no, this is not against their rules if somebody wants to point that out, I even asked their support...

So x months everything was fine, I liked the field, liked the site overall, cashouts were never an issue. In May I registered TruePoker, kinda hoping this would be my last month on nl200 ever as I finally grew BR to take a huge shot on NL500 and just wanted to clear the FDB here on NL200 blitz and also try some new things which I added to my game. I played there around 80k hands in 3 weeks, 4 tabling blitz, reaching 7bb/100 (5bb/100 EV), to regular grinders I guess I don't have to say that this is easily one of best months we have in a year... Still I must say I made some big mistakes / blunders. After the month I looked at cashier and there was 17k USD (original deposit was 5k) + around 3k in RB (not sure about the RB sum, but something like that). I attempted to withdraw my money, however then I got message that I am under suspicion and that I need to verify my account. So I had to send them photo of my ID and provide some other details (about my poker career, who coaches me etc.). I answered all this. Then the next step was, that I had to record myself playing. I needed to record myself sitting at the table so the camera would view my hands and the monitor + needed to record the screen via OBS. Already super complicated and annoying, but I said, well ok, if that's what it takes, I guess I should be happy they at least try to fight bots / RTA users as those guys are just cancer to the poker. So I did that. Maybe here I ****ed up that I didn't play the casual 200blitz 4 tables as the pool didn't run and I played 6 tables, mix of HU 200 blitz, and some reg tables 200-600. I was super annoyed at this point and thought this would be no problem, but maybe I should've just played what I played the whole May...

So I sent the record to their support. After a week I got a long email where they stated all the rules I violated, mainly paragraphs about being an RTA user or being a bot. The penalty of this was banning all my accounts accross whole WPN and confiscating all the money I had on all acounts, which made the total of 20kish USD. Naturally they didn't mention any proofs as that's top secret and they don't wanna reveal how they fight bots. So imagine this, NL200 grinder just getting confiscated 20k and they wouldn't even tell him how they ended up with their decision. I guess now I should say that I have never cheated playing poker in my life and I despise that, I love the game and I have been dedicating a lot to poker last couple years. I thought, ok, maybe they just made a mistake, I will just hit them up, telling them I am no cheater and that we can discuss my poker game further (I would be willing to go through my hands I played there, or even tell them how I play, my strategy etc. from which every man that knows a bit about poker strategy would know that I know the game, at least compared to average nl200-1k grinder). So, I did send them an email asking them if they could re-evaluate my case. It was really hard for me to remain calm and neutral at that point and not be rude but I thing I managed that. Well, today, after a week, I got very shorty reply, they just said they re-evaluated the case and that they stand behind their decision and all the penalties.

I feel really heart broken after this. Work of last 6 months is gone (at least in terms of USD, the skill remains), I also need to play 200 now and will be playing it for couple months now which just destroys my yearly ev and even ev for upcoming years as I will reach at least nl2k (skillwise I am at least at 1k). So, this is way more than just 20k, I don't even wanna make the calculations... Lastly, this is super hard for my mindset, we all know how poker can be tough in itself, variance and all that **** and now this happened... I lost a lot of motivation and the drive to play. I don't wanna whine here, that's just what it is. Only thing I can say, the mental aspect is short term, in one month my motivation will be regained. My endgoals are super high, I will just get to high stakes, so in longterm not even this matters too much.

But yeah, the bottom line is WPN just stole around a year of my life and I will not forget that. I got scammed for 20k USD, I will not forget that.

Lastly, I hope I am one of very few that this happened to and I wanna stress out for you guys, don't have a bigger portion of your BR on any site, just don't. Always have the minimum you need to for playing (10BI). I made a mistake in this regard and won't do it ever again. Never trust nobody.

I guess I have one last hope, I contacted Randy "nanonoko" Lew via twitter, who is their consultant in matters of BOTs / RTA, but I don't think anymore that will workout. I also think there is ton of ways how to prove that I am a legit player, which makes the whole thing even more sad.

PS: I hope I mentioned all the important details, feel free to ask about what you think is missing. Obviously, some of you won't trust me, I don't care, but please, try to leave the stupid / hateful or whatever comments you will have on your mind, Im sick of this already enough.

OP, if you are as innocent as you say, I wish you the best in resolving this situation.

But this part...

...at the very least, let this be a cautionary story for others in a similar situation. If you're being asked to prove that you weren't cheating, at the very least you should make every effort to replicate your purportedly honest activity as precisely as possible.

As most 2+2ers remember, Hevad Khan famously ran into similar accusations way back when. To prove he wasn't a bot, he filmed himself playing dozens of tables at once. After all, the site doubted that a human could operate that many tables simultaneously. His video effectively said, "Yes, a human can, and this one does."

Imagine if Khan had instead filmed himself nitting it up at four LHE cash games. The site – I think it was PokerStars – would have said, "Yeah, you proved nothing. Go drink your Red Bulls while we keep your money."

Granted, I'm not saying six-tabling HU Blitz is exactly like turning into Dewey Tomko at four LHE games. But my point is that the site offered the OP an opportunity to prove he can do what they deem to be impossible (or close to it). And instead, he just filmed himself doing something else.

Itachi: Maybe you need RTA to beat that pool, I don't

Wilburty Twist: Yeah you might be right and in retrospect I should have just waited for blitz pool to run and play then. I was naive, thinking since I am innocent, nothing can happen to me. On the other hand, WPN could have just said, hey, this is not sufficient, record one more... Or discuss the hands with me, as I said, there is tons of way to prove I am no cheater. They treated 20k usd like it was 100 bucks. Then again, it was my money, not theirs...

i mean if that was the case they would obviously tell him to play the same games lol or whats the point? i still think theres more to this story than op tells us i also really doubt a poker site cares so much to steal someones 20k u could make this argument if they did it to a lot to other regs, but to just one come on.
