Doyles Room Withdrawals...

I'm posting this just to give some info on Doyle's Room....

I recently deposited on Doyles Room to give it a shot seeing as I never played on Cake. In my opinion the games are very soft but the software is terrible. I first deposited with my credit card to see if it would be accepted and it was. Than I sent in all the necessary documents to setup my E-Check account for my second deposit. All went smoothly although with E-check, you need to first make an initial deposit via another method (which I did with a CC) and than you can only make 1 deposit per 30 days of no more than $100. It says for certified accounts the deposit limit is up to $500 but that turns out to be incorrect according to support. I decided to make my first withdrawal on 2/9 to see how fast/sufficent they are. I figured I would post some responses from support just to inform anyone who may be thinking of trying this room just how bad their withdrawal process is.

I made my withdrawal request on 2/9 via FedEx. The FedEx fee costs $50, a little excessive I thought. Anyway, in the cashier section in your account you can check on the status of your withdrawal request. My withdrawal request status was "Under Review" until 2/16. I contacted support asking why it was taking 6+ days to be approved especially when you're being charged a $50 fee for FedEx. By the way, they charge you $10 for regular check delivery.
Here is the email response form support:

Hi Mr. xxxxxxxxx.

I send you a warm greeting from Doyle Brunson Poker Network.

We are working on your check now. FYI, for security reasons our security department here at Doyles Room takes from 24 to 72 hrs. to confirm accounts and review all withdrawal(s) and deposit history as well as game play(s) from all players requesting a withdrawal and then the accounting department can take another 24 to 72 hrs. more to double check and confirm then process and send the batch(s) to our merchant processor which then would be sent to the customer which can take from 25 to 30 business days on regular mail checks (NOT INCLUDING WEEKENDS) to arrive and FedEx 4 to 5 business days (Note: FedEx $50 charge is not for overnight delivery but, to be processed by a third party processing merchant within US territory and NOT INCLUDING WEEKENDS). This is to assure a high quality service avoiding any kind of problems like...a lost or returned check or with wrong information on it or the wrong amount.
Mr. xxxxxxxx, if you have any further questions in regards to this matter please, feel free to contact me.

Once again, thank you for contacting accounting at Doyle Brunson poker network and may you have a great day.

So let me get this straight....

1) They charge $10 for a regular check via USPS mail. It takes the 7+ days to be approved by support plus an addititonal 25-30 BUSINESS days to reach you. Absurd.
2) They charge you $50 for FedEx delivery and you have to wait the 7+ days for support to approve it plus an additional 4-5 days for it to reach you. Plus, the fee isn't even to have the check overnighted! They state the FedEx option is for the check "to be processed by a third party processing merchant within US territory and this is to assure a high quality service avoiding any kind of problems like...a lost or returned check or with wrong information on it or the wrong amount. " I didn't realize paying for FedEx meant the info/amount on the check couldn't be wrong. So what are they saying, if you don't use FedEx there is a high chance your check via regular mail will be screwed up? I mean cmon, even AB/UB offers FedEx and the fee is less and it's overnighted!
3) How does it take the security department than the accounting department each 72 hours to review withdrawal requests? I am totally for guarding against fraud but this is excessive. You mean to tell me every time I make a withdrawal they are going to review every game/table/hand I played to make sure it was legit?
4) The one nice feature was the phone support number however, being an American you can't understand one word of English from the support I talked to. It wasn't even bad English, you couldn't make out a word from them.

I will update when I actually receive my check but I'm thinking I won't receive it within the time frame they laid out. I'm withdrawing my whole balance today in hopes I receive it by May. This site would be good if their withdrawal process was more sufficient. Doyle Brunson should be ashamed to have his name on this. I understand that US regulations have made withdrawals hard but no site I have ever played on has had guidlines like these.

Free HU software?

I want to play my friend HU and dont want to have to pay a truckload of rake.

I know UB has some playmoney HU tables but when u signup with UB they don't give you enough chips to enter the HU tables.

Does anyone know of any site and/or software I can use to play HU for free?

Yeah, can't connect here either. I keep getting the Connecting status bar..

For a site that has 200,000+ people on this time of day everyday they need to fix this lag and crashing.

Can't connect.

This is especially disturbing at the moment because I have a bunch of dirty dishes to wash and was hoping to put them off for at least another hour.

Update - I'm in - so long housework!

I think some IM programs like msn messenger etc have poker games you can play against your friends, no idea if they are any good though.

Check out the software forums. I use S.Clause's MiniMaxMod, there is also a betpot script by Reef and one by n9-monk. There may also be others that I don't know of.

I would never play on iPoker again if I had to play on the standard software. It becomes quite a pleasant experience once you mod it, makes a huge difference.

Mansion cashout issues

Trying to do a transfer to get my money off the site since I'm from the U.S. (I've been putting it off a while) and they are quoting a law in 1996 making all gambling from the U.S. illegal. I wish I had the conversation saved but they mentioned that I was "currently breaking a law blah blah" by playing at Mansion. I was like, "no, I haven't touched this money since late 2007, wtf?"

Now they are making me send in this in order to do the transfer (it took a little convincing apparently):

"· 2 copies of a valid photo identification document such as a passport of drivers license

· 2 copies of a valid utility bill or bank statement which clearly shows your current residence, issued within the last 3 months

All of the above documents requested must be approved and certified by an attorney as a true copy."

I know the ID/Utility Bill is standard, but "certified by an attorney"? Really? And I'm not even trying to cash out like literally, I'm just transferring to another player. Seems really excessive. Any other former U.S. Mansion guys having trouble cashing out? I haven't seen any threads on it but maybe I'm missing them.

Re: Mansion cashout issues

Used to play at Mansion pre-UIGEA. Had to provide 2 forms of ID to cash out the first time. Being that it's been a couple of years, they clearly want more information on you in case someone is pulling a scam. A transfer of funds smells fishy at this point.

question on ftp deposit

My friend will be making their first deposit. Do they clear right away or do they take a few days? What's the quickest for a US person? Checking account (does it clear right away?). I used Mgram when I deposited. Is that still an option?

Re: question on ftp deposit

Credit Card would be the fastest way to get your money up and running (But I heard that most CC companies declined transactions to Poker Rooms? Not to sure about this as I live in Canada). E-Checks are instant as well, as long as the information is accurate though personally have never actually used them (I.E Routing Number, etc). Checking accounts are instant too, but this usually takes a few buisness days as they make two small deposits into your account, which you then have to verify to make sure that it is your bank and account you are actually using. Only then, when you bank account is verified is it instant.

I heard Netteller is also really good for depositing instantly, though again have never used it personally so I can't comment on this.

Does Party still block transfer-partners from each other's tables?

I know that several years ago, if you sent someone an inter-acct $ transfer, the two of u could never sit at the same cash table forever. Do they still do that?
