As more US players gravitate to the smaller sites and networks that still accept US players, won't this make it increasingly more enticing for the DOJ to go after them because these now bigger site will posses sufficient wherewithal to make it worth their while? Classic catch 22, if you ask me. Maybe US players should stay away from the smaller sites and play at B & M where possible.

Of course it will. But the DoJ will never stop online poker in the US as long as there is that much money to be made. Build it, and we will come.

I'd like to shed light on an issue that has gone unnoticed for far too long. It is about time that something was done about a "recreational hobby" that is ruining lives all over the country. I urge Congress to take action and the people of the United States to rise against this obsession American people have with Golf. Those who play it tend to call it recreation or fun, but it's clear now that it is more of an addiction.

Think about how much better it would be for our country if so much money wasn't spent on green fees or country club fees. It would be great for the economy. These golfers are distracted at work; reading golf magazines, thinking about when they can get out on the course next. It would clearly improve employees production at work and focus.I can't think of anything golf provides for our country that is good. Most of the golf carts these players use aren't even gas powered.

Everyone knows that a significant percentage of the people who play golf also put money on the line against their friends when they play the game. If this was such a friendly game then why are people losing so much money and drinking so much alcohol why they play???? I heard on some courses little whores with short shorts go around serving married men beer. I mean that's basically the definition of immoral. However, not as immoral as the thousands of people who skip church on Sunday to play the game. They're out there saying the "F Word" when they shoot a bad shot. What The Freaking Heck is wrong with these people? Once we finally admit that anyone who plays golf should be criminally charged, that's when we will see so many less financial lives ruined. I mean, I've heard of people who can't control themselves on the golf course. Betting $10, $11, up to even $12.50 a hole. People will buy their children a less expensive birthday gift just so they can afford their country club fees and their wagers. This just isn't right people.

I understand that some of you will claim this is a game of skill, but I mean come on; you cannot control the wind. There is a large amount of luck involved. You can aim for the fairway or the green, but once you actually swing the club you just have to hope for the best. You cannot just will the ball into the hole. So when it comes down to it, it's still a game of chance. That's why the number of people who buy golf books, take golf lessons, and watch golf on television is about the same as how many people buy books about playing roulette, and take roulette lessons, and watch roulette on ESPN.

So, it's clear we have to take a stand for America. Let's get these addicts of gambling and lust who call themselves golfers back home to their families where they belong before they kill themselves or harm society even more. Criminalize Golf.

I owe Pokerstars $300 in bounced e-check deposits from my bank. Can someone please give me their opinion on whether I'll ever have to pay them back? I dont think I have to pay them back, because it was illegal.

I could move to Mexico to play on PS. It's only 50 miles south of here, but then I'll probably get stabbed or shot.

Just a random observation. Just before the UIGEA in 2006, Party changed all the locations on he player avatars to only country names instead of cities. About a month ago, Stars did the same thing. You have to wonder if they saw this coming and wanted to be able to rapidly identify US players when the time came to bar them from play.

They already knew which country everyone was from based on the "country" field tied to your account.

Not to mention party didn't get shut down, they left voluntarily.

Probably most players would prefer just their country and not city displayed.

I was wondering this same thing myself, and I am interested in hearing from people who have signed up for Lock or Carbon or Cake in the aftermath of the major site shutdown. What has your experience been like, how are the games, ect. So far I am resisting the urge to sign up, and am planning to play more at my local casinos. I just don't feel confident that I would ever be able to cash out, so obv this makes spending time grinding on these sites infinitly - EV. Any info is appreciated

Any Sites Available for US Players - where you can deposit with echeck or some bank transfer, where theres no fees, and where you can withdraw successfully. ie how pokerstars used to be.

or is that not possible at this time.

also anyone have an educated guess on the time-frame to actually play poker online legitimately or semi-legitimately at a site like pokerstars again. im going to assume unfortunately itll probably be a few years or some garbage like that.

i just got a free $50 at William Hill through pokerstrategy. just wondering, could I deposit my roll there (roughly $140) to get the deposit bonus (would be $280 to clear) then withdraw my deposit of $140?

I want to know because I'd like to clear the bonus Full Tilt has offered me at the same time, so want to depo on WH, withdraw then depo on to FT and have both bonuses going.

so basically does WH make you clear a certain amount of rake before you can withdraw deposits?
