Hi I received this email today

We hope this email finds you well.

We recently received an alert from our security system. As a result, the following transactions (details below) were sent back to your credit card.

Your account currently shows an outstanding balance of Xxxx


I’m really confused. I have played around 50 tournament games and only last night I played some cash. I had around $600 in the account and now says 0.

Is this a common thing? There’s no reason for any refunds I am a player hitting the tables for first time in about 10 years and have not requested any charge backs etc. 100% no dodgy play.

First I’m worried about the amount I now owe, 4 figures and that the balance is 0.

And secondly worried the money will not be returned.

But most of all I’m concerned about the legitimacy of the site.

Is this a common thing?

Any experience help would be great.

Have you had an account with them prior to this one? Maybe they found a link between your new and old account 🤔

Hi nope no account ever with these. 10 years ago with FT, stars, sky poker , 888 etc. never used this skin or associated skins.

I am on gamstop in the uk due to excessive sports betting that’s why I joined this one.

No irregular play, do not use any HUD software, first time played cash was up few hundred dollars.

Totally unexpected. Wondered if this has happened to anyone before

Please note that your account has triggered one of our security flags. Due to privacy policies, we can't disclose the details of the triggered flag; however, we can see the alert itself and our system has automatically disabled cards as a deposit option.

We have refunded a transactions back to the card Also we have made a partial confiscation of funds from your poker balance $69.72 in order to recover part of the amount refunded. There is an outstanding balance $399.57

no funds in card either

like i start crushing 10nl (punted it at higher stakes) idk maybe thats why
anyway ive seen ppl cash out bitcoin on ignition (in the 2+2 ignition payout threads) but idk they could be shills (paid for)

and maybe u get robbed irl if u start winning wtf =( maybe tournaments and wire the money to ur bank =/

Exactly the same message as mine apart from the confiscation bit.

Really can’t see a reason why.

Yeah but mine reads as it’s card related with transactions over a month being refunded.

But yes strange.

I really enjoyed the site and looked and felt totally legit

FWIW, it's quite normal that a refund to a credit or debit card might take several days to show up.

I would give it roughly a week at the most and if their is still no refund to your card then I'd have cause for concern.
Strange how they state you owe them 4 figures tho.

How much have you deposited since opening the account?

Update had a partial refund after a few weeks however the bulk has not been refunded and have been told that on occasions payments will be on the ‘2nd billing cycle’.

Still no clearer on why this all happened or any reasoning why.

Please have in mind that billing cycles run on a monthly basis.


The billing cycle of your bank statement is set by your bank when you first get your card, refunds can be reflected after two billing cycles have ended

Due to how our processors work, we still need to wait at least 1 more month.

I have escalated your case to the department in charge to ask for a time frame on your refund.

In the meantime, they are asking for a picture of your bank statement as a running balance, which you can attach on this email.

And now I am not getting any response.

Really don’t feel like I can leave a roll there till is sorted

Hi,

This exact thing has just happened to me (another UK player who was playing on ACR) this morning. I noticed some refunds on my bank account and when checking my email I found one the same as yours - A security alert, the following transactions will be refunded, etc.

I have only received about half of the refunds listed on the email, and they claim my account has an outstanding balance of the entire lot.

What was the outcome of this for you guys who have had this happen before? Did you have to pay them the full balance back?

Hey Kelly, I am about 5 months in and getting nowhere.

Have become very selective at replying to emails.

I managed to get an ARN number from them for the refunds which is able to find the payments if sent to bank. However the funds were not found by bank. I know it’s not sent as it’s same with bank and credit card.

I had 2 descriptors where payments were sent from ‘spahost’ and ‘Guoije’ the later not received anything.

I get no reasons why not returned my last email was:

We have had cases before where it takes more time. Refunds sometimes can take longer than expected.

What we have confirmed multiple times with our team in charge of processing those refunds is that the refunds were confirmed so it should be a matter of time in this case.

Thanks for the reply Graham, looks like I am in for months of hassle then!

I noticed some of the supposed refunds they have sent are from months ago and are going to an old card which has now expired, so my chances of ever seeing those ones back are probably very low!

I am just so confused as I never asked for any refunds, I had lost money to the site and actually decided to cut my losses and stop playing there. Now out of nowhere they tell me my account has an outstanding balance I need to pay too, even though only half of this has been refunded to my account so far did they chase you up to repay this? Or pass it to debt collectors or anything? Stressing me out this!

No don’t stress … how can they chase anything up when they not even refunded you. I even had my roll taken.

Jeez.. lucky I decided to stop playing on there and not deposit again then when I busted my bankroll lol, there's nothing in the account for them to take.

Yeah I'm not sure why you can't DM me, I don't seem to have access to private messages for whatever reason, maybe because I'm brand new here (just signed up yesterday). But thank you for the reassurance anyway. I think I'm going to give it a few weeks to see if any more of the refunds come through or if they try to contact me again (I've not replied to the initial email yet) and go from there.

Turns out ACR are not licensed in the UK, they operate out of Costa Rica and therefore I can't call on the Gambling Commission for any sort of dispute resolution if the refunds don't arrive.

Equally though I guess that works both ways??? Surely this shady unlicensed website has no real legal way of getting the "outstanding balance" from us if we were to simply decide not to pay them a penny back? Lol. Maybe? I'm no lawyer

This issue continues.

Nearly 6 months on now.

Weekly emails sent to support saying still not in bank. Get told the same spiel refunds have been issued you must wait.

Then I decided to go back to my bank and check the ARN numbers given by PK/WPN.

After further checks the bank confirmed the ARN numbers are actually the outgoing ARN numbers of my initial payments.

I gave this information back to WPN and again have completely comms silent. That was a few weeks ago now and have sent further emails with no reply.

Have been given the complete runaround.

Have you tried getting this bumped up the chain to a manager? This seems incredibly ridiculous, even for WPN.

If WPN has anyone on social media, you might want to draw their attention to it as well.
