It seems the thread was closed due to all of the derailment going on in that thread. It's also very unlikely that FTP will be addressing any of the concerns raised in that thread...

they will definately not if this is just allowed to fade away. also isnt it in the mods duty to deal with the derailment not just close a thread with over 40000 views and 450 posts. seems like a lot of vested interest in keeping lid on this. Noahsd only real heavy chiming in. kinda disappointed 2pt imo forcing accountability from sites is your greatest value.

If you have something new to add to the topic, perhaps you should PM a mod of the forum (not me - an active Zoo mod like Mike, Mark, or RW) and see if they would be willing to reopen or have a suggestion of somewhere else you should post it.

Thread got into this derail with one guy posting like a billion posts in a row, each with each sentence starting its own paragraph. Probably better to just warn the guy then lock the thread (espec since the original thing he was talkign about was kinda interesting), but it doesn't matter much since there's another thread in NVG about it and since there's probably never gonna be anything else to say about the situation anyway.

ok. this will very likely be my last post in this thread and i will try to be clear seeing as i dont always express myself very well in writing. i was not trying to say that i thought bobo had closed the other thread only that as ad man he was the most likely to have a perceived(real or not) conflict of interest in addressing why previous thread was closed. i also have found it strange that very few 2+2 higher ups have weighed in in either thread. sorry for any disrespect i will now go back to lurking and taking all my action to stars. flame away

They haven't weighed in because they almost never weigh in on anything, they have no responsibility to do so, and this is a relatively small deal.

Now, you are absolutely correct in that I could be seen as having a conflict of interest here, but I'll give you some straight answers anyway, and you (and others) can decide if you want to believe me or not. Please don't take my direct answers to mean I'm offended by you asking, because I'm not.

First of all, from my own personal perspective, whether FT continues to advertise or not has zero impact on my personal bottom line at this time. Of course it's in my best interest that 2+2 succeeds, so I suppose it's better for me that they stay.

I have modded here for almost 3 years. I've also been working in sales here for about 9 months. In that time, I've never been asked to, or asked anyone else to, close or delete any thread about a poker site, advertiser or not. Nor have I heard of a site asking 2+2 to do so, although it's possible that's happened, but most sites know better. I think there have been a few threads deleted where someone is obviously outright slandering a site by making unfounded allegations; we're very reluctant to do this, so it's a pretty rare occurrence.

As for this particular thread, I haven't asked Mike Haven, but I have little doubt that it was closed because of the mess it had become. Notice the thread wasn't deleted, and no one (that I'm aware of) has been asked to stop posting about the incident. That would be a pretty poor cover-up IMO. There are countless threads in these forums complaining about different issues at Stars, FT, and plenty of other sites that advertise here. There are also numerous threads praising sites that don't advertise here.

I think most poker sites realize that they're better off not trying to interfere in threads here. I believe 2+2 is well-known for its integrity when it comes to threads like these, and that's one of the things that makes it a great site. If a site like FT were to try to undermine what we do here, that would only hurt them in the long term as they have a pretty good presence on this site. I'm sure they wouldn't be upset if the occasional thread were to quietly go away, but this site is big enough now that doing such a thing is near impossible even if we wanted to. Sites like Stars and FT know they have to take the bad with the good.

I've seen bobo kick kittens for looking at him the wrong way. The program appears to be working for him lately though.
