Offer LockPoker $250,000 in one go and you'll almost definitely get a turnkey site with a well known name.

I'd buy Lock Poker. That could be a gold mine if done properly. Now, insofar as the 8 figures of accumulated debt... meh.

Offer the players an initial 5c on the dollar with reviews later, subject to targets being met, play-through, etc, plus $250,000 to the lady if she walks away, and you could well have a deal.

bodog I believe lost the ability to use western union. It is speculated that the reason for this is western union figured out it was for gambling probably a disgruntled player prob complained.

It used to be interesting that as soon as you deposited on bovada the monies where there immediately leading to further speculation that based on the name given to phillipine western unions the operators there knew that it was for bovada and had pre arranged agreements with bovada to put the money immediately thru. This speculation but makes sense. Though providing online poker may not be illegal the moving around of money and getting cash to players and on sites certainly is.

Shutting down of pokerstars and full tilt pretty much shut down the scope of internet gambling. If online poker gets as big as it did in pokerstars hey day govt will probably get involved again. Not enough money probably being filtered in to make it worthwhile for the govt to go after any current stie still operating or allowing players to play from the USA.

The problem is not building an online poker site that can accept US Deposits.

The problem is re-gaining the trust of the US Based Recreational Player to MAKE deposits.

Lots of (seemingly trustworthy) places to play for real money in the USA as we speak.

Bovada
Winning Network (ACR/BlackChip/True Poker)
Merge Network (Carbon)
Equity Network (Full Flush Poker)

.....and others.....(not including Lock because they are a scam site)

Plus.....plenty of Bitcoin Sites as well, some even connect into the real money $USD networks (Betcoin on the WPN).

So PLENTY of well established competition already in the market.

The challenge is recapturing the Recreational Daily Player that only the mainstream advertising of PokerStars/FullTilt/UB on mainstream televised events was once able to capture during the glory days of online poker.

This is just the challenge to get a site going.

You also need to worry about interference by the DOJ, and/or covert DDOS Cyber Attacks on your network.

Good luck.

I have no idea what your issue is with this thread, nor why if it's so terrible, you'd want to bump it after 4 months of dormancy.

Since this was bumped...

What you suggest Mike, is a $1,000,000 price tag. No bueno. Name is too tainted for that, but they do have other assets with some worth (though that value deteriorates by the day).
