Before the pulled out, I would guess they spent more than any other online poker company (including pokerstars/full tilt) on advertisements in the US....Then, after the UIGEA, they instantly decided to pullout. What was the reasoning 4 this? Particularly considering the enormous amount of money they had invested in the US...

public listened company and its simple not legal to offer poker in US.

In 1-2 years maybe they must leave germany netherlands france also.

solucky is right. They are public company so it is a lot more tricky for them. Obviously, I am sure they wish they were in the US but they are still doing decent

Some will argue they also saw it as a good time to run off with much of the Monster prize pool. They still owe me and I'm sure quite a few others for that. Them being public is #1 though. They can't expose their shareholders to the liability of owning a business that may be illegal.

no publicly traded companies can offer traffic illegally. they will be sued by their investors. ftp/stars/etc are privately owned.

I think it's already closed to french, about 1 year ago i could not signup to PP from France. I asked the support why, they told me it was not allowed in France.

it's against the french law to play online poker. but as French law is not respecting EU laws, it's a big mess and it's tolerated to play online poker from France to any room but Party Poker.

My thoughts that when France will fix its law about online gambling, they will open the doors, not close them ... but I don't really know where all this french mess stand for the moment ...

Party wanted to break free of all its US affilates and skin sites. They were losing close to 30% of its revnues because of this and this was a convient way for them to break ties legally. It merely washed out the profits they lost from leaving the US market.

I know this because I have a firend that ran an affilate
