It wouldn't matter whether it was new or old ownership anyhow since under Paul Leggett they've done such a fine job obfuscating. It's been as huge a cluster**** in the way it was handled as imagineable under "new ownership".

Beyond that, it's incredibly unlikely old owners gave up ownership in any form but name and token amount.

I'm just saying if cake took over AP/UB I would consider playing there because there would be a ton of traffic and ap/ub has faster payouts. If they were a skin of cake that would be cool. I know it will never happen.

well I've used western union for cashouts from both ftp and ub before and have had good luck. worst case scenario is getting banned from western union, but I think that hasn't happened much yet (knock on wood). I agree regarding his advice to find a place with bullet proof glass however.

Lifetime ban, yes. Also if they flag you they will call you, and probably hold your money and not allow you to pick it up. Meaning there will be an investigation and a delay of your payment until they finally mail it to you.

Under 1k seems to not trigger this automatic flagging system. With that said a wu agent can always flag the transaction, so obviously we never want to let them know it's a gambling transaction. I say obviously, but you'd be surprised. Just take a look at the FTP thread a year or so ago when the service was unveiled to everyone. It took mg less then a month to shut down the processor. Just silliness like kids going to wallmart and proclaiming that they want their poker winnings! lol

yeah was responding in general to when I hear people say "but it's under new management/ownership..." as a reason they may be trustworthy again.

a) chances it's true new ownership are slim
b) the new management are the ones who have given us the stellar 21+ month old handling of the superuser issue where hand histories still aren't available to people but don't worry because Sebok Holmes is on the case.

though i'm sure i'll never be in the situation where i'm cashing out $3,000 wu every week, it's still good to know it's not a full proof solution. I just really hate answering questions about poker checks or wires to banks. And to be fair the wu proccessors have been asking my relationship to the sender for the wu transfers and I decided to lie about it. Though i definitely feel more comfortable lying to a check cashing store then a bank.

I began playing on UB due to lack of options. My favorite site was Full Tilt but i got banned after doing transfers with people on this site in the marketplace and for small contests or one time tourney staking deals. One of them did something wrong and got my account banned. I never really knew any of those people so that was my fault. I simply told FT they were wrong but i didn't fight it because i don't feel comfortable depositing money with them anymore. Also I no longer transfer money with anyone unless i'm sure of their integrity.
I had stopped playing on stars for a stupider reason. I was doing my usual e-check deposit when i added an extra 0 at the end of my deposit. It was more money than i had planned on spending but than was ok. I had to go down to my bank before the e-check went through. My bank(which i was new to) is open on Sundays and i had to deposit cash. When i got there they wern't going to be open for another hour so i said what the hell and deposited the cash in the atm. Only $100 of it was immediately available and on Monday the e-check was processed before my deposited money was available so i lost my instant e-check deposit option(i had to wait 10days for echecks to clear) so i stopped playing there. However, i emailed them yesterday and after they reviewed my history the lifted the ban.

played @ UB but NL50 and above is hard to beat compared to Pstars or FTP

I can't really say I ever thought me (a white dude living in the midwest) picking up $1k in cash at a walmart being sent from Qing Bong Jong in the philippines was a full proof solution. But hey, you do what you gotta do
