Are all Ongame sites getting this software? And when?

Between now and the 16th of June all Ongame sites should be on the new software. At least, that was the initial plan.

Edit: This is an email quoted earlier in the thread:

dear xxxxxxx

Get ready for bigger and better things this June! ONGAME is about to launch brand new Poker Software (P5 Version). We will be transitioning over to the new Poker Software in stages beginning June 9th through to June 16th, with no disruption to your play.

These are a hint of all the great new functions and features to come:
New lobby with games filters.
Direct seating.
Resizable tables.
Chat at the tables.
Mac computer download and much, much more!
I'm taking this to mean that all the sites are transfering between those dates, in stages. I might be misunderstanding what the email means though.

I can't use Ongame Hand Grabber for Bwin now. Hand Grabber doesn't work on Ongame anymore? There's nothing I can do about it? That's correct, right? I'm confused.

Ongame have moved the HH folder, from the sound of it. The HHs might well be in a different format, too. It's a question of when whatever software you are using gets updated, imo, and whether you have to pay for the new version. I doubt Ongame are actually blocking the software from now on. You just need to wait for someone to update their software to work with this new Ongame HH system.

Thanks. I'm a complete moron when it comes to software so I hope you don't mind my asking a possibly dumb follow-up. When I try to open up Bwin using Idle Miner Hand Grabber I get a message saying "Please use StartbwinPoker.exe to start the application". I have no idea what that means but it would be consistent with what you are saying? It's simply a question of waiting for Idle Miner to make the necessary update?

I would have thought so, but I'm not sure. Somebody else might be able to help you better.

What I said earlier probably wasn't quite right anyway, because I don't think hand grabbers work from HHs, do they? But your best bet is to get in touch with whoever you got the software from and ask them for advice, imo.

One extra problem is that the Ongame software has problems and is likely to continue to change over the next few weeks.

Judging from the 'StartbwinPoker.exe' error message the name of the bwin download might have been changed, so that your handgrabber can't even see it running.

I was assuming you used the handgrabber for normal HEM or PT use, though. This Idle Miner thing sounds more like a datamining tool, so I'm not sure I should have been trying to help you anyway.

I thought Idle Miner was the standard hand-grabber brand, at least for Ongame. HEM doesn't (or didn't) work directly with Ongame and it was necessary just for normal HEM use. By "datamining" you mean keeping the hand grabber running when you're not playing? Nah man, I told you, I'm lousy with software and I wouldn't even know how to do that.

Hand grabber not useful anymore, HH are stocked in text format (look for handhistory.log in X:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Application Data\P5\bwin\handhistory )

Ah, okay. That's what I thought it was; I'd just never heard of Idle Miner. I've never used HEM or PT with Ongame.

HEm was working with Ongame for at least 6-7 months now... - I mean it was working when you were actually playing...

Ongame Hand Grabber was needed to datamine hands from tables you were not sitting at...

now it is not working because hands format is different but we can expect them to make it work soon

Yeah I was kinda aware that you could use HEM directly with Ongame now, but once I ever get a piece of software working (in this case the HUD) I just let it be. But I think I'm now going to be forced to change. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I use Idle Miner for the wrong reasons, which now seems to be the only reason for using it at all.

Are you saying that you can use HEM with the new Bwin right now, or are there still problems with that yet to be fixed?

This new version is the biggest DOWNGRADE I have ever seen. Many people at OnGame need to be fired for releasing this rubbish

Why doesn't this surprise me. Seriously it's mind boggling that Ongame actually pays these idiots to design their software (and I know they are reading this thread).

Like everyone said, how hard is it to at least try and copy some of the features that stars or fulltilt has? Obviously the designers were just programmers and were never poker players to begin with to put out such rubbish.
I can't believe it actually took years before they finally decided to put an "add chips" button on the table without you having to sit out to reload chips. So this doesn't surprise me one bit that they will put in something like resizable tables but forgot to put a tile button so that you have to manually resize all your tables manually. Classic Ongame.

I have seriously lost all hope that one day the ongame software will be anything good, as the idiots that design the software are complete morons.

I remember a Bodog "upgrade" from a few years ago that was even worse.

I'm not accumulating Poker Points either, which is the only reason why I'm playing there, to clear a bonus. Bye bye.

I really hope the other skins (well mine at least) hold off changing over until all this is fixed.
Also, I'm wondering if you just stay logged in does the old software stay - a bit like stars/ft updates don't take effect until you install the update?
