Notice how Kevin uses the blinds to refer to his games. Luna, you're a short stacker, why would you refer to the games buy there normal buy in? Will you ever be buying in $200 at 1/2? $400 at 2/4? I didn't think so, so there's no reason to refer to the games that way.

Thanks for the reply, no doubt you can't avoid the better players the higher you go... good to see there is still an edge to be had at high stake CAP, though no doubt rake becomes so low at 2 and 5KNL that even tiny edges are worthwhile and better players will always profit.

Seriously? It bothers you this much that you felt compelled to post that?

Let me reassure you; i'm not only a shortstacker and have always played both full and shortstacked.

I am therefore fully licensed by 2+2 to refer to games by their normal buyin.
Sorry for any panic caused

Erm - that is mega sick, trust the americans (im english, so usa/canada same thing) to do it big.

i think everyone wants to know how much it is, im guessing its more than the $1500 a month for your condo.

so you are going to sit in about 6square foot of the 9000 grinding like a demon now

Curious how much and, more importantly, how much hired help comes with 9000 square feet? I wouldn't even want that much space if I had to take care of it all myself (I've seen The Shining, I know how it turns out).

Sick, sick brag though. I just moved into Ottawa, pretty sure any one room in your place is bigger than my entire apartment.

vnh sir.

A larger difference however is that this is the level when you begin to see a pretty hefty saturation of regulars that have very little to exploit. This is the lowest stakes played by some of the best grinders, such as Nutpopper.

$3/6: This level isn't all that different from $2/4, other than the fish population has become slightly more diluted, and this is the lowest stakes played by some of the best regulars, such as Pillars and Rudder1ess, whom you won't have to battle against at the $2/4.

$5/10: This is the highest grinder level (as the $10/20 and $25/50 do not run with enough frequency for mass tabling.) The fish pool continues to become more diluted. And I should also mention that as you move up in stakes, play generally becomes more and more aggressive, this includes the fish as well. This is the level where you will find the best of the best grinders. It is the primary home of guys like quixtar.
It's been almost a year since you posted this, how much do you feel situation changed ?

What do you think is a better session schedule for someone who's trying to get in 6-8 hours per workday with 20 minute-2 hour breaks between sessions?

2/2/2/(2)
3/3/(2)
3/(2)/3
(1)/2/4
1/1/1/1/1/1
?

Obviously, each schedule would have pros and cons.
Longer sessions: less time messing around with the lobby/waiting to post blinds-more hands/hr
Shorter: less prone to tilt/having a prolonged bad session
Longer: Continued momentum while having a good session/great table image
Shorter: Less worry about thirst, hunger, going to the bathroom-more comfort

$1/2: Filled with fish and as well as many regulars who do not play near optimal. Many of the regulars have leaks that are quite exploitable.

There are still tons of fish as expected as the $1/2 will long be a haven for the recreational player as it is in B&M casinos. However, the regulars at these stakes are getting better and better. I see a lot better blind defense now than in the past.
$2/4: A fairly large step up from the $1/2... there are still plenty of fish, but they are diluted a bit. You might average 1 per table, whereas the $1/2 you were averaging 2 per table. The gap between $1/2 and $2/4 has closed significantly in terms of the skill level of the regulars.

$3/6: This level isn't all that different from $2/4, other than the fish population has become slightly more diluted, and this is the lowest stakes played by some of the best regulars, such as Pillars and Rudder1ess, whom you won't have to battle against at the $2/4.

Not much has changed for $3/6 and $5/10 other than the fact that regulars continue to improve. Interestingly enough I believe the $10/20 and $25/50 runs with more frequency than it did a year ago. At those stakes you will find monster regs like Trueteller, who doesn't really venture down to $5/10.

I personally prefer 3/3/(2) by a significant margin. I feel it's best to get your big sessions done early when you're the freshest and thinking clearly, plus I find longer sessions actually help me get into a rhythm rather than cause me to fatigue/tilt (fatigue usually doesn't set in for me until I play 4-5hr+ sessions.) Plus life happens, you never know if something is going to come up later in the day that requires your attention, so it's best to get your longer sessions in first to be safe. And if something doesn't come up, then you can put in that last 2 hour session of the day (or maybe even longer to catch up if you've fallen behind schedule.)

My schedule in 2010 when grinding for the record was typically 5/4/3 every day, which you may also be able to do at some point once your endurance increases.

What are your thoughts on range assignment? (I mean for postflop mostly) and bias solving?

I mean its easy to determine the % of the time a guy calls your pfr from the bb, but with what range?

Sure, you can use holdem manager or some tracker to look at hands villain has shown down in this spot, but even then these results are going to definitely have bias in them, and not be a true representation of how often player x has KQs in his range versus 98o, as KQs will definitely be shown down more even though he theoretically could have 98o in the range just as often. The weight of the range will seem more top heavy than it actually is.

What are your thoughts on this and do you do anything to combat it?
thanks!
