The latter seems even harder to prove. I can't see how if you had a dummy machine setup that didn't do anything but run the VPN for you, how you could get caught? Can someone enlighten me?

had vpn working for me for a couple of days until the last patch changed back your addy on the site and requires you to present proof of new address.

just to be clear, having a vpn used to allow you to play but you still need a real physical address outside of US to withdraw and transfer. its not too hard to come up with all these but you need to keep your story straight and itll get nasty.

It's not hard to come up with a foreign physical address along with a foreign bank account to get the money deposited in? Really? How many times have you done it?

u can prolly get a foreign bank account online. and u just need a utility bill in ur name at a foreign address, not as easy for some people as others, but it's not impossible imo.

My fault, it is just as easy as going "online" to get a foreign bank account and getting a utilility bill in your name at a foreign address might be easy for "some." Why didn't I think of that?

This is why a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

This poster openly admits above that he knows nothing about computers, but thinks he's just discovered the solution. There's myriad ways to detect that too, sir. Many can't be helped or fixed. I'm sure that I am not even aware of all the ways.

As others now have mentioned, PS and FTP aren't stupid, and they are, in turn, aware of most every VPN service's IP ranges. Sort of question why you'd bother with "safeguards" and "workarounds" that are patently obvious to the poker sites.

I didn't bother reading your particular plans for having friends who reside outside the U.S. help you; they don't belong anywhere on 2+2, they're going to cause anxious people to lose hard-earned money, and they're irrelevant anyway because of the bottom line. Absolutely nothing personal against you, sneeringco... many people have been pondering the same ideas.

Regardless of how it sounds, I think it's every American serious poker players duty to seek expert advice on how to play on VPN or whatever and do what Americans have done since the beginning. And that is, NOT allow some dumbass DOJ to impose moral issues on us just by flexing muscle since they can. The majority of people in the US would agree to allow it,so its an atrocity for the religious right and conservatives to squash it just because they want to. Once they ever get it thru their heads that they cannot stop it, then they will do the right thing and legalize/tax it.

When i see the ENTIRE MUTHA FREEKIN world (just about) on Stars and Tilt right now and the US has to sit on the sidelines because of some hairs that creeped up someones arse????

What is horrible is that our government will act like they invented online poker when they finally legalize it.

Nah, I would tell Eric Holder to his face. And actually have already written this by email to them and hope others follow. I never was a political activist, but I can now certainly see how people get fed up and start marching. I WILL play internet poker every way possible until I have to literally move outside the country (and will do that too at the proper time).

Then Maybe you can kindly enlighten me so that no one who doubts you for a minute goes ahead and tries it out?????? I mean uve written this much for public safety thus far.....

Remember Im talking about my friend running a VM on his computer located non-US. Which I open via remote desktop, and play online poker on. How can the sites convict that when people use VMs legitimately all the time because their in love with Linux or whatever. And because the remote desktopping client is running in the host machine, the guest shouldn't be able to see it... Right??

Public safety demands that you stop posting about various hypothetical setups with foreign conspirators. Some of us follow the rules, and we are not about to tell you everything you didn't think of (and there's enough you haven't thought of, or are ignoring by choice at this point, that I would call what you're posting "misinformation").

I'm not here to provide you with directions on how to break the TOS or play poker in some miserable, complicated way, and I'm sorry I ever replied to this thread if getting instructions has been your real intent all along. It looks like Boba Fett was dead-on correct.
