so i see posts everywhere in the ACR/BCP threads complaining about the rake taken from beast/bbj tables.

i think at this point a petition/thread dedicated to removing The Beast/BBJ is warranted.

I vote for removal. The rake is ludicrous and all but a few players have any chance of getting serious money back. You're taking from the low limit players and giving it all to the hi limit few multi tablers.

I'm a rec microstakes player who has thought about depositing but avoided it thus far as the rake is just too high from The Beast & BBJ. At 10NL ($0.05/$0.10) only 10% of the jackpot is awarded anyways, 50% from 25NL - 200NL; it's not until $2/$4 that it pays out 100% and even then 10% goes to the house and 30% to the next jackpot, so only 60% is truly paid (30% to loser, 20% to winner, 10% to the rest in the hand). I don't know that the tables need to be totally eliminated, but it definitely needs to be proportioned better.

Running right now:
$0.02/$0.05 - bad beat/beast doesn't collect this low

$0.05/$0.10 6-max: 3 non-JP, 7 JP + 2 10NL JP capped games
$0.05/$0.10 FR: 0 non-JP, 2 JP + 1 10NL JP capped game

$0.10/$0.25 6-max: 1-non JP, 10 JP
$0.10/$0.25 FR: 0 non-JP, 1 JP + 4 25NL JP capped games

I vote for removal. It is ridiculous.

Don't agree with it nor do I think WPN will remove it, but the overall setup could be improved.

Agree with OP. Beast payouts are so ridiculously top heavy. I've been playing at ACR for just a couple weeks now and you actually have to alter your game at stakes below $100. Very very difficult to beat the rake.
So, an American site that is decent with payouts but games totally suck. Why can't just one American site have the best of both worlds?

As well as others, I've mentioned this countless times/years when someones gets giddy and starts rallying for people to join WPN.

It has just fallen on def ears so I speak with my wallet.

I really don't believe that most people playing care or have a good understanding of rake. With that being said ... they have no incentive to change it.

You don't have to get rid of it, just make it fair. I would suggest eliminating it below 50nl and possibly including 50nl, and make it up at higher stakes where it will have a negligible effect on peoples' bottom line.

How much is this beast rake?

At 1/2 and below, for every hand that is raked, the Beast rake is $0.17c. With $0.13 of that going towards the cash race, and $0.04 going towards the tourney race. Then another $0.08 is taken from each raked hand (while on a JP table) to go towards the BBJ. Then whatever rake % WPN usually takes is also removed from each raked pot obviously, which I believe is like 5% up to whatever max.

So in the picture, you have a limped BvB pot. Pot without rake totaling $0.50. Then minus the $0.25 for BBJ + Beast, and then minus the $0.02 (5%) standard rake, you are left with a pot of $0.23. Over 1bb was taken from the 2bb pot.

Um..... why don't you just play regular tables then?

The only reasons why I don't play on WPN, is because of the beast and the bbj.

There's just no way I can play 250K+ hands in a month (that's how many the previous winner played) especially with my wife being pregnant and doing all the daddy things.

Why would I pay 25 cents a hand just so I can donate it to someone with more time on their hands? Not to mention, there's a reason why sites like merge got rid of the bbj.

This morning there were 3400+ people on the site. A TOTAL of 58 were on Non-Beast NLHE at 50NL or less.. that's hard to find a game.

I don't play on BCP at the moment, but my go back at some time. I mostly play sngs, but I can guarantee I would never play a BBJ table ever ever ever. Holy mother of god at the screen shot... not funny WPN.
