Like 20 minutes ago noticed something very unusual.
Signed up to a 1USD 888poker live event 6 player SNG tournament, these usually fill up pretty fast. And guess what? As soon as it started ,4 out of 6 player were sitting out! So it was just me and one other player who were playing.



* Bots are the ones sitting out.

As soon as I eliminated the player who was playing, I got suspicious, and turned out that those four players are all from Ukraine! Turned out they are all controller by one person! However, we can only guess why they were sitting out. Maybe because that person lost internet connection or 888poker was quick to ban them (unlikely).


Thoughts?

Every site should ban people from that part of the world.

I assume you have some evidence to back this up? other than them all being from the same country. ISPs have area related problems pretty often.

OP obviously does not have much more than he presented, however if one does sharkscope all of those players they all have played 6-8 games lifetime, of the same type (6 man $1 SnGs) on a single day (September 2), although all are down pocket change in those handful of buck games.


Some played in the same games, though not all the same, but given they were all created at the same time, and all played the same minimal lifetime volume on the exact same day, then I would suspect something is odd about them - either testing a bot or some type of instant bankroll multi account thing.

Unlike most threads of this kind (with minimal evidence from the OP) - I would say the accounts were worthy of being reported.

There's no evidence they are bots, but Monty's info is interesting.
If it turns out that the accounts all belong to the same person/team (possibly all with the same IP address), I wouldn't be surprised if the reason the players were all sitting out is because internal systems automatically suspended the accounts to prevent them from playing.

Suspicious play should be reported to the site.

i wonder how much of 888 poker and other sites revenue comes from bots... i would guess a fair bit. Could be a huge scandal being listed and everything..

There is enough evidence that those accounts were all controlled by one person. 888poker support takes ages to reply, plus this is interesting, so decided to make a post.
