Need some help on twitter right NOW.

Follow me, sajeffe (or maybe just search me). Retweet one of the last three tweets I did. Retweeting will put it at the top of the search list for the #DsRally4Jobs hashtag. It's going on now! Thanks!.

  1. Like and make pro-poker comments on Subcommittee Chairwoman Mary Bono Mack's (R-CA) Facebook post HERE (you don't have to like the main non-poker post to do so).
  2. Like the pro-poker posts on Vice Chair Marsha Blackburn's (R-TN) Facebook walls HERE and HERE (she has two separate Facebook pages). Then, go HERE and HERE to make and like pro-poker posts.
  3. Send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE.
Please reply in this thread with "posted", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 51 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

Done with today's plan but will be doing the extra stuff throughout the day.

Let's make some of our posts to the subcommittee members focus on the safety issues around internet gambling, since that is what the hearing is about.

As an example, I wrote this on BonoMack's & Blackburn's pages:

Tuesday’s hearing on Internet gaming is long overdue. Millions of Americans have been gambling online at foreign sites for more than a decade. We need regulations so problem gamblers have stop limits in place, people too young to vote can't gamble online, and the players and sites themselves cannot commit fraud. Thanks for hearing this important issue. I, personally, do not support blanket online gambling. I do, however, STRONGLY support H.R.2366 and online poker.

I think it's important to tailor our message to the people we're contacting. The super committee members need to hear a message about jobs and revenues. But this commerce subcommittee needs to hear a message about safety issues and regulation.

We're poker players. We adjust.

include something about studies that show problem gambling won't increase (sorry don't have links at the moment, but include references)

include the belief of many people (again include references) that online ID verification systems are sufficient to ensure minors won't play online poker even though there is little ID verification in the current environment

The action plans from now until the hearing will all be on hitting this subcommittee. I'll need FB posts for us to focus on, so please try to make some nice posts on these walls. I will seek out the best posts, giving preference to posts from constituents. Thanks!

Everyone, I just found an article that we should be citing in our FB discussion comments. Even Donald Trump believes online poker would be a great idea!

This is an example of how I used this link in the context of a persuasive argument: https://www.facebook.com/EdTowns/pos...50500175268986

URGENT: We need to respond to this fast and furiously. There are eight responses so far and they are all against gaming.

http://www.facebook.com/mary.b.mack#...06805109392606

The following is from the history memo for the hearing:

IV. Issues for Discussion
 How effective is current enforcement of online intrastate gaming?
 What, if any, forms of interstate online gaming should Congress consider allowing?
 What consumer protections exist for online gaming?
 How would any easing of legal restrictions on Internet gaming affect consumers and other stakeholders?

We need to frame our responses to her on Facebook appropriately, given the issues they will be covering.

(I can't believe this was posted on Facebook 12 hours ago and we didn't catch it.)

For thousands of jobs and billions in revenues, include licensing and regulating U.S. online poker in the deficit reduction plan.
