About 10 minutes ago I logged into my full tilt account to find that my $2100 roll had been reduced to 89.70. When I check the log in history, I find...

May 06 2008 5:34 am 70.67.155.129 Canada SUCCESS

I live in Maryland.

There is no record of a cash out, nor are there any new hand histories to import.
The hell is going on?
Has anyone else been robbed like this?

Wow, awful to hear man, I hope it somehow works out for you.

As for the HH, those get saved to your HD, so if the play didn't take place on your computer, it won't get saved. Definitely email support about this to get the HH. If there wasnt' a cashout, it was probably a chip dump and hopefully they can catch this in time before the person withdraws.

Maybe try staying logged in, this is what I do and supposedly it should work in preventing access from some random, outside source. Peope in the ftp answers threads have been pushing for better security, like an extra password and stuff. Hopefully something is done to prevent this garbage from happening in the future.

Again, sorry to hear this man.

not on FTP, it will allow the person to log in after 30 seconds, unless you deny access

That is a Shaw IP. I don't use Shaw but my understanding is that they have static IPs. I'm not sure what type of response you could get but you might try calling the police in Calgary and ask if they'll investigate. Shaw could tell you who that is but probably won't without police involvement.

Here is the return email from FT saying they will not reimburse...

Hello Wesley,

Thanks for writing in.

After a review into your account I can confirm that your account lost
the aforementioned funds during what can be considered a 'foreign login'
and occurred using a computer you have not utilized in the past. During
this login approximately $2000 was lost on the tables in legitimate
hands during the course of 31 hands at a $10/$20 table. That is, the
funds were not deliberately lost to a specific player in a fraudulent
manner.

To further understand this issue, we kindly ask you to answer the
following questions if applicable:

1) Have you given your login information to a family member or friend?
2) Have you given your login information to any third party websites?
3) Do you often leave the 'Remember Password' button checked?
4) Have you recently downloaded any third party software (data mining
programs, e-books etc.)?

Finally, regarding any potential reimbursement I'm afraid we will not be
able to refund you the money. From our perspective the money was lost in
legitimate hands to legitimate players. Refunding players in these
situations would create a loophole for dishonest players to simply claim
any loss as fraudulent activity.

Do not let our denial of reimbursement function as any slight to you as
a customer. We are by no means insinuating that you are putting in a
false claim or attempting to defraud Full Tilt Poker. However, please
know that compromised accounts are never the result of any security
issues on the part of Full Tilt Poker. Almost always a logical
explanation can be deduced after examining the off-site activity of any
given username.

For security measures, we have suspended the basic functionality (play,
chat, transfer etc.) of the account pending confirmation you have
changed your password and regained control of the account. This
functionality will be restored after e-mail confirmation from you that
the password has been changed.

On an end note, I have attached a few hand histories from the session in
question which your account lost the majority of the funds:

I'm not sure if the police will do anything but they might.

I'd also contact Full Tilt to see if they can match the IP to anyone and because the person who the money was dumped to might not have had a chance to cash out yet.

wtf, they concluded nothing was wrong? After a foreign source accesed your account and lost a buyin in just 31 hands (not that that's impossible or anything)

At least they got back to you quickly, but this 'investigation' is already over?? Screw them, can the police do anything?

They won't even lock those other 2 accounts for the time being, while you can easily confirm you have no idea who they are and they have no way of accounting for using your account?

bull****.

henry, it doesn't matter if the people have a chance to cash out or not, they aren't giving him his money back. the money was not dumped to anyone to cash out. FlyingStart is a reg and dclappe1 is a random known fish.

sucks tho...sorry OP

That is a weird hand. I don't believe it was a legitimate dump. The person who hacked your account saw an opportunity to double it before dumping it and ended up losing it all.

FTP really can't reimburse in situations like this, for the (fairly obvious) reason stated in the e-mail.

I don't understand with all the money spent on promotions and software updates, something as simple as an IP lock in place is not an option anywhere.

What if, given this situation the player had simply lost the money at a heads up table instead of ring? Would it then be refundable and deemed 'chip dumping'??
