Im of the opinion that PTR was a better option than this site.

I mean sure, we'll give a load of information to a closed group of Russians* and keep it a secret so that 1. Stars dont shut it down and 2. Only a small group of regs have access to the information to improve our WRs. That wont look dodgy at all when a fish finds out about it.

*Yes, Im aware its not just Russians using the site.

Stars are to blame for forcing this 'underground.' But I sincerely hope they start banning regs for stuff like this. Its the only way you will ever see poker be clean and respected.

There's a buttload of sites like this out there. I personally wouldn't bother with it as poker sites and the modern community seem to look down on these things. Its like a donkey punch....while interesting, you wouldn't do it to your wife or girlfriend. So, yeh.

The first strategy was to target sites that were very visible in the poker world.

I would imagine that the next strategy (if not already ongoing) is to tackle any other sites that are up (probably smaller sites, ala the black friday effect).

The next step would probably be people sharing information privately, with no websites or central source to shut down. At that point, I doubt PS could do anything if they wanted to, but they will have kind of succeeded.

I think the main point is that too many recreational players don't want to see their stats shown publicly.

I think tracking sites should be allowed to show every winner's profit over a certain threshold (maybe 20k, maybe 50k). It's good for the game and no losing player or moderately winning player is harmed.

But it took Stars 2 years to shut down PTR. A site that was based in their own country (or legally so anyway). How long do you think its going to take to shut down a site ran by a russian guy out of his bedroom?

Russian is very relevant here. Im happy to defer if you know something contrary but I thought Russia had lax IP laws (which is eventually what shut down PTR).

Agreed. Stars are missing a trick by not introducing their own tracking software for 'pros' and badges for things like PTR did on a 'player profile' page.

I don't think it's enough to be a russian guy running it "out of his bedroom".
He can run 20 tables on one computer if he has an account. It would take a truckload of computers to have accurate info like PTR did.

i've looked at the site but the results for every player i've searched seem way off.

comparing the results vs. my db the value isn't even close.

also compared my friend's results vs. his db and it's way off too

who would pay for this when it seems to only track every 5th hand or something ridiculous?

Seems like u and ur friend using datamined hands which is strictly against stars toc?! Otherwise u wouldnt/couldnt know that?!
