the fact is many of the other networks and sites offer under the table deals either directly or through affiliates to anyone that can show high volume and it can usually add up to more then 80% rake back.
that been said the advantage pokerstars has always been its sheer volume.
thus i think a more appropriate title would be alternatives to pokerstars?
i believe there is no real alternative right now but mass migration of the pokerstars community will soon change this.
a clear message has been sent by pokerstars consistently reducing player benefits and showing a complete contempt for professional players.
people have taken the hint that there profit margins will be skimmed to the absolute brink and it is clear fundamentally to anyone that pokerstars is now effectively dying.
the recent change means that all pros now face a tax 2.5% i believe it is on every single cash out. with pre promised reductions for the 2016 vip program and implications this will be significant.
I think a move from Zynga into real money games would be big but not sure if that will happen any time soon.
1) The recent change is not a "tax" on all cash-outs.
2) There is no guarantee that profit margins will be skimmed to the brink, but it does appear that things will be headed in this direction.
3) There are not "pre-promised" reductions to the VIP Program. There was a statement that further changes would not happen before then, and everybody has somehow assumed that this means changes are coming.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have high hopes for what's to come, but I also think it's best to keep track of where things are
actually at, and what may be to come.
Anyways, does anybody have any suggestions for super high-volume players?
