If you only have a few hundred $, there is no need for insane security. Run windows update and keep antivirus and firewall updated. Use blockchain.info and have a good password and don't install anything unless you know what it is. Even if youre a complete ******, the EV of you getting hacked over the next few years on your few hundred $ of btc is like -1$. Its much more likely that you will just give your money to a scammer.

I am definitely interested in playing on Seals with Clubs. Concerning Bitcoins, I have read wiki, and watched the short video. However, I still don't completely understand how everything works. Could someone please explain the whole Bitcoin thing to me like I am a five year old? Thanks for your time.

The internet made a currency. It is non-fiat. It is peer-to-peer so no government or other such entity can corrupt the system. Over a million humans are using it and there exist internet exchanges allowing you to buy and sell bitcoins. The price fluctuates, sometimes drastically. It is backed by cryptography which is essentially the math that governs the system. It solves many problems, such as banks ever being closed or charging $25 wire fees. It is applied to many things right now, including the blatant sale of illegal drugs on a site called Silkroad. It seems like a natural solution for online poker.

People try to run ponzi type scams with BTC mostly.

Just don't go shipping off your bitcoins to every random guy on a forum talking about some way he can double them in 3 months and you'll be fine.

I got my last Bitcoins via credit card from here, good and easy way.
Just open a Mtgox account, no verification necessary to send or receive Bitcoins.

More question, pm me

I've noticed most of the Bitcoin sites that offer exchange thru credit card payments require paid membership/verification (the above, btcquick.com, so on) - can anyone vouch for these services? Feel a bit weary about sending a copy of my driver license in to an unknown person/entity.

Are you sure? this site looks shady. Not Mtgox, the other link.

I don't know about that keys site, and you can't count on MtGox not requiring dox.

use quickbitcoins.net -- the guys is very trust worthy i've done quite a bit of business with him if you want to pay with CC.

O.K., it is not a perfect website, but I want to buy Bitcoins not his website.

On his site is a link to a forum (bitcointalk), with a lot of satisfied customers.
I did a few purchases (I`am using a prepaid card for internet purchases), works quick and easy after the verification like on quickbitcoins.net, but they want to much information (tax number etc.).

And all that with my unverified Mtgox account, no problem.

I think you will find that bitcoin works best when it is peer-to-peer direct transfers. Bitinstant is also an attractive option even though it involves physically going to a bank - most people have a bank close to them and for that trouble of driving can get bitcoins reliably in about 30 minutes relatively anonymously.

As a function of time both buying and selling btc will become faster, cheaper, and more convenient. New services are scrambling to enter this market, they see opportunity.

It's been a pretty steady 70 players or so whenever I look. Full ring games at most lowish-mid stakes. But only one full ring game per stake normally.

I urge everyone to play in The Big BTC tomorrow. 2btc to enter, 60 gtd I believe. If we can get more people to play this tournament it might get into people's sunday schedules... at least US players.

Look, the action isn't going to be like Lock or Merge, but it's more about joining the revolution right now. Are you going to find a ton of games at this moment? Obviously not. But, you can find some games going and every day more players are joining. Are there security issues? Sure, but there are ways you can protect yourself. If we join forces as a community to help sites like SwC grow we can maintain a strong online poker economy for americans.

Traffic is definitely increasing and it is noticeable over even just a week ago. On Friday around 5:00 PM EST there were three full 1/2 tables going.

How do I get into the 50 hr krill free roll? And how do I get the password after I qualified? I emailed support, they said that after I have 500 krill, my "my account" page would show a link, but I have over 1000 krill and I'm not finding it.
Also, my rakeback doesnt show up, but ive played a good amount of short handed and heads up?
One more question: is there a hud or tracking program that works on SWC?

I have just started playing SwC and it is definitely not Lock or Merge for US players. It is a flash based site BUT the main kick in this site is payouts are quick. Zooming quick. With bitcoins, there's no bank to freeze, and no crazy processors and checks that bounce. It is in your control.

The games are soft, and most of all they are fun! The ring games are great. An hourly free roll plays and every evening is a tournament. One unique tourney SwC plays which is great is an awesome structure which is called "smooth" > where the clock runs like 3 or 4 minutes and the blind only goes up a dollar. Pretty fun.

It is a small group with Micon "Chairman" from donkdown running it like a boss. Just sign up login and chat and all questions about bitcoins will be answered for you quickly and you will be on your way.

Because the price of coins is just over $10 right now chips (1/1000 of a bitcoin) are like US cents, so 1/2 is like $.01/$.02.

Right now there is 1/2, 2/4 and 5/10 NLHE and a 5/10 PLO.

50/100, 100/200 and 300/600 NLHE have been running for a while every day recently.

Been getting decent 10/20 games going most days too.
