Carbon's down for the night it seems, so let's see how much I can grind up on here. Won a freeroll for 50 chips. Grinded up to 500 so far. At least the games here are oddly soft.

+1 soft games, but it is not that odd because most players are from the bitcoin universe and not the poker universe.

A quick tip is to check out the blockchain.info wallet. It does not require the blockchain on your mobile and has some bitcoin buying and selling services on the web version.

Blockchain.info is good, definitely better than waiting a day or two for your own bitocin client to sync up. If you want an even simpler faster wallet instawallet.org is good, but not secure enough for large amounts or leaving for a long time. When you start with bitcoin if all you want to do is play poker you can send the coins you buy directly to your Seals account and you don't even need another wallet.

Instawallet is also cool for giving coins to people who don't even use bitcoin yet or for simple shared wallets with someone you trust. I'm about to send a few cents to the wallet at:

https://instawallet.org/w/YlRKgLuQVF...jln4fRm31MnDWQ

Anyone can take them (after they confirm and are eligible for re-sending, about 20 minutes)

It's like leaving money on the street on the internet. (only because I gave out the link, don't do that with money you want to keep)

I opened a Dwolla and MTGox account. I need 30 days of transaction history on Dwolla before I can transfer money to MTGox. Is there another way for me to get BTC to SWC?

Some people will sell bitcoins for paypal on the bitcoin forums or ebay, etc.

Just buy bitcoins somewhere else and have them sent directly to your SWC bitcoin address

Bitinstant works, and Coinbase. The latter is good if you have a bank account and want it linked, with only 1% fees. The former is good if you want anonymity and a cash deposit method sent straight to e-mail. 4% fee at Bitinstant though.

Thanks guys. I opened a Coinbase account. I'm just waiting for my bank account to get linked. I can see how it might be tough to get this mainstream. Too many hoops to go through.

They have an option they say is instant, did you go for that and there is still a delay or choose the slower option?

Fewer hoops than a lot of sites though. Instant cash outs is huge.

Don't worry, when Bitcoin price/value goes through the roof, you will be patting yourself on the back for having been one of the early adopters who got on the train relatively early.

What train exactly are you talking about, the money train or the bullet train to nowhere?

And when the internets are turned back on, your Bitcoins will be there waiting for you.

I believe instant on Bitinstant is if you want to deposit cash and i think it's the same at Coinbase. I will just wait for my bank account to get linked. It should be just a couple of more days on Coinbase.

Where do I keep my coins if I don't want to exchange them for USD and don't want to keep them on SwC? Do I keep them at MtGox or Coinbase?

You should use blockchain.info/wallet for holding btc outside Seals. You can also use your own local wallet if/when you know enough about security and backups.

I love the idea but the process is super intimidating
