"What you aren't understanding is I did not access two plus two in the ENTIRE month of march. I don't have any access to a computer besides public ones. I was transferring money for friends and became aware that I couldn't do it anymore because of legal situations. This was in the end of february. I absolutely never posted a thing in the entire month of march. I'm not lying about anything, I never spoke to you a single damn time until several days after all of this came about. I'm trying to figure out everything I can as I do agree that my security is my issue, but I don't know a solution to figuring things out. This situation was made absolutely out of control by you agreeing to send a large sum of money not in pieces to someone you've never dealt with before. I've yet to get your detailed information from merge about IP addresses. I want to see any information you have from them. I tried contacting them for information pertaining to IP's about a week ago and have yet to hear anything back from them."

Email from Hambone I received today at noon. Pathetic. Note the 7 posts in a High Stakes PLO thread in March before all this went down, the same threads he posted in before March.

Even worse, he basically ignores the fact that even if he was hacked he still owes me the money (as I told him). Definitely getting the police involved this guy is a thief and a moron who intends to write nonsensical emails explaining irrelevant details. He has mentioned nothing of paying me even when I suggested a payment plan, the only thing left to do is send him to jail.

Are you planning on doing anything? I understand giving someone the bennefit of the doubt but I would of gave him 2 weeks at most, this is over 30 days and now its just ridiculous.
For the first 2+ weeks I was waiting on Merge for their official opinion and Clamper to do his research. Once I got the word from Merge that in their opinion he was not hacked I started emailing him and since then it's been about 2 weeks of him denying everything and giving me the run-around. I gave him the benefit of the doubt until a few days ago but now am taking further action. As Clamper mentioned he contacted some local authorities a couple weeks ago. I'm open to all suggestions of what to do.

dude seems super scummy and it's a sad situation.

him essentially blaming you for doing a transfer with his account when he's admitted to using transfers improperly for friends is like scumbag/scammer 101 on how to respond when accused.

he doesn't seem the least bit interested in how his "hack" actually occurred other than waiting for other people to do the leg work on it.

don't give him "your detailed information". he hasn't come close to working properly with you on this.

I think an offer to him of "we'll let any interested police/authorities figure it out now" is proper at this point.

At least he's sticking to his guns in being completely ******ed about technology.

I'm sure he somehow manages to get the same IP address at all those "public computers" he uses.

And it's hard not to laugh at the fact that he was stupid enough to post in threads he'd already shown interest in, then claimed he didn't have control of the account or use it at all last month.

The sooner Eric Hardt mans up and admits he ripped bcgt178 off for $8k and figures out a way to pay it off, the better.

You're not fooling anybody with your awful lies, fella. You remind me of my 6 year old cousin who just recently discovered lying.

There was a serious medical issue which precluded me from continuing.

I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with bcgt178 and Hambone4k.

I'll need a day to re-read the thread and all the PM's.

@bcgt178, unless you have done so already, poise yourself for filing a criminal report with both your local police and the Macomb Police Department.

@Hambone4k, get ready to name some names.

What is funny about him being aware that he can't transfer for friends because of "legal situations." Yet he gets busted for steroids. I bet you didn't know you could not do that huh? Yeah ok. Hambone4k stop acting like your contacting them about IP's. You probably don't even know what an IP really means. Like they are really going to release that information to you the "scammer." You seem to post I have been hacked rather quickly. If you don't have access to 2+2 the entire time of March, how do you know you have been hacked? When you realize you busted the money and could not pay, you cried hacker. Yet there are many people on here who know more about IT than you know about anything.

Hambone, you're not doing very well at this, so I've decided to help out with your story:

I was just about to leave for the National Convention of the secretive Shaggiesnack Political Party (who keep no records and will never admit their existence), when a good friend, a Russian I'd met the week before (while buying steroids), asked if he could stay at my place while I was gone. He also asked me all about which threads interested me on Two Plus Two. I said that he could stay and told him all about my Two plus Two activity, happy he cared so much, and left for (Secret Location I can't reveal for fear of death). When I got back, said Russian (he looked a lot like Boris from Rocky and Bullwinkle) had left, leaving behind a note that I shouldn't answer telephone or go on Two Plus Two for a while.
I was shocked, absolutely shocked, to hear about the perfidious deeds my good friend had apparently done (he must have discovered my passwords I keep on post-its stuck to my computer) and can only guess he was brainwashed. Have tried to reach him, but is apparently on a secret mission and does not answer my many calls. Good luck getting your money back, and it's all your fault. I am now working hard on the case as a favor to you and will soon be able to explain what IP means. My first clue is that it is very similar to ZIP in zip code. More soon.

that should do it. Just stick to it and don't try to improvise.

Can someone point to a single instance where a scammer has been convicted in a civil or criminal case in the US where the scammer received funds via an online poker site?

I see the following happening in small claims court ... or any civil court for that matter.

"Your Honor, I gave Mr. Hambone4k $8,000 upon the assumption of him fulfilling the contract we had laid out in this chat log. He did not fulfill his end of the contract, so I wish him to return the $8,000."

"I see. How did you transmit the funds to Mr. Hambone4k? Check via postal mail? Electronic funds transfer? Exchange of securities?"

"Player to player transfer on Purple People Poker, part of the Merge network operating in Malta."

"Case dismissed."

That person's poker related scams had little to nothing to do with his conviction as far as I can tell. He was convicted due to craigslist related scams.

My question still stands. I would think any judge would consider a transfer on the Merge network to be on par with a transfer of Zynga chips in terms of legitimacy as a financial transaction.
