"This.

Hambone4k where u at man? You shoulda been all over this thread by now defending yourself. I dont understand, whats the deal with all the hiding in the shadows?

The silence is making you look more and more guilty."

Pretty sure replying in this thread would make him look even more guilty. Better to run and hide.

I think his mentality is that if he ignores it, it will go away. What he does not realize is the 2+2 community is determined(Or whatever you want to call it) and does not let things like this die until resolved for the better. (And in some cases it will keep coming back even when resolved.)

Ahh, no, NOT replying in the thread makes him more guilty.

Stating his case, or even coming clean with the real truth helps him here. He thinks that he can just let this disappear, well I hope he doesnt plan on playing any live poker again because I know plenty of people who would be happy to resolve this matter in ways Eric may not find so pleasant

Hambone4k is your classic tool.... Does he think he can out-smart all of us? "It was my friend that did it", ohh really name/number/address... He obviously doesnt know the law, if in fact even a friend did that did you call the police to report your friend? You may ask why would you do that because He's no friend if he took your 8k (obviously i dont believe his story just saying if he thinks we beleive him).. just putting this out there this is now considered a felony and if your previously on probation (once a tool always a tool) you will be facing jail time. I just hope you dont pick up the soap in jail

Don't tell you don't, I have been the victim of identity theft and know the ins and outs like the back of my hand. Your money is most definitely back in your checking/savings after this amount of time (mine took 2 days and that was because I had to wait for the police report to show up since it was a weekend).

Explain the IP address situation? It has been mentioned that your IP was used during this. Let me guess, your roommate, best friend, random guy you met at a bar came home with you, tied you up and spent a week playing on stolen money until it was gone then released you so you could come back and post here? Phew, glad you are ok

I also find it quite disgusting that you deflect blame at the end of your post under the guise of not doing so.
SharkBait if you'd be willing to reiterate this specifically I'd appreciate it.

Hambone is still claiming that he had nothing to do with this and it is unclear if he intends to pay me. He basically is deflecting blame, not answering my specific questions, trying to get info out of me, and leaning on Clamper as if he is the be-all end-all of this situation; generally giving me the run-around. He says that he doesn't have money to pay me, I'm not sure why he would include this if he thinks he is innocent. When I offered to set up a payment plan starting with 1k by Friday April 6th he said:

"I absolutely don't have a grand to just pay you in 2 days. I'm doing what I can to figure things out though the limited exchanges I've had with clamper. However, without detailed information about exact IP addresses and times, I don't know how much I can do. If you want to give me all the detailed information you have from lock, I'm trying to look into it." -from his email to me yesterday.

Another quote: "2 + 2 is going to make assumptions without knowing the facts."

So Hambone since your last 2+2 activity was today at 1pm, why haven't you come to this thread and told your side of the story and clear your name? Someone is this thread made a passive threat at him, I don't think we should do that. BUT how does this guy think he can not pay me, not say anything on this thread, and walk into Vegas/AC/where ever he plays live and not expect to hear a ton of hate from people this thread already has ~20k views.

Is Hambone claiming that you were communicating with the hacker when you agreed to the swap?

OP talks about his poker account being hacked.

No de facto scammer is going to admit straight up that they scammed, are entirely in the wrong, and liable for their misdeed(s). People with that level of clarity and moral consciousness don't scam in the first place.

He claims that he never spoke to me and that he didn't post his thread titled "Merge accounts hacked what to do"

Re: Scammed by Hambone4k?

Wow, just lucked into some evidence that makes his story pretty close to 0% possible:

He claims he never PMed me or spoke to me on AIM or talked to me in any way because he was hacked and I was talking to the hacker the whole time, but if you look at his posts, he posted on a PLO thread at 4:15pm and 4:52pm on 3/6/2012
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15.../#post31917000
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15...l#post31917773

BUT the previous day 3/5/2012 at 9:29pm he PMed me and said "I'd be interested in buying 5k at .90 if you'd be willing to send first. I have over 50k worth of transfers in the thread." He PMed me at 3:55pm and 4:13pm on 3/6 the latter saying: "my aim name is stunner158. I'll be on it for the next hour or so. After that, I'll really only have access to the forums from my ipod and not be on aim." We then chatted on AIM and agreed to the trade(I already posted the AIM convo).

Those are very intermingled with what looks like regular 2+2 activity, if you look back weeks in his post history he has several posts in PLO threads. Anyone think his story that he never spoke to me is true?

It's pretty easy from there. When is Merge notified by him? How much play comes after that? Why the **** does he wait an entire day after getting a phone call from his friend to check in here asking whether he should do something about it?

No hacker in the history of ever would make that thread. So he has control over his two plus two account at that point.

When did you regain control over your accounts? When did you contact merge? When did they get back to you and what did they say? Why did it take you forever to make any post other than that thread after this all happened?

You make this post in HSPLO. Notice the time and date. https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...3&postcount=16
16 hours later you've miraculously been hacked, had a buddy call you after seeing you play crazy the day before, and now have sauntered back to ask if there are things you should do about it. 16. hours. later.
You were posting on the account earlier that day, and multiple times the day before.

WHEN DID YOUR 2+2 account get hacked? When did this transfer take place?
going to requote this since it includes one of the same posts OP included in his recent posts. this is why I was asking when the transfer convos took place, when the hacking is alleged to have taken place etc.

and no. no reasonable person would look at what happened and think he's telling the truth about being hacked or never having spoken to you. mostly because he's yet to provide a shred of evidence that it's the truth.

Because he knows that we all know he was never hacked, and that his story is bull---t. Thats why he's being evasive and trying to figure out exactly what info you have gotten from Lock, so he can try to invent a new bulls--t story that might satisfy you.

Let me explain that there is no chance that someone other than him accessed his computer. Well the only way is if he is so idiotic and let his "friend" use his computer with the same IP address with him not being home. Or his "friend" was using the computer while he was home. Either way it does not look good from his side. There was no planning in advance. He was trying to freeroll and lost. He knows nothing about networking, yet he is going to claim that he is hacked. When the evidence shows he was not. I have taken so many network courses and know that what he is claiming is bs.

Edit:

Also his "friend" would have continued to have access to the computer for a considerable time because the amount of play on the account.

Guys, Occam's razor cuts this to ribbons. It's obvious he scammed you and isn't going to pay anything unless forced.

Obviously OP is the victim here, but the due diligence really wasn't up to par. You can't just take someone's word for it that they did 50k in transfers with old hands without a hitch. Any basic investigation into that would have thrown up red flags enough to kill the deal.

Op do not give him any info. There is nothing good that can come of it. He is obviously trying to find out what info you have on him. What is he going to look into? He obviously knows nothing about IT. What is he going to do? He can't look into it because he does not know how to look for the information. If he knew how to get the information he would not claim he was hacked.

I know, he already tried a few times and I declined. The only thing I quoted Lock saying was about the matching IP address, so don't be surprised with a bogus explanation for that from his end(basically what he's trying to do with the friend explanation).

I plan on doing whatever it takes for him to pay me my money.

I'm willing to transfer $10 on PS to help find Eric Hardt.

If 5% of the 2+2 viewers in this thread did the same, we would have $10K to find and take some sort of action towards this scammer.

We already know his name and his 2+2 account and merge accounts. His address can be found out very easily if this goes to litigation. So no need for the transfer of money, just action.

Haven't heard from Clamper in over a week. I know his opinion is respected but I'm not waiting for his verdict, I think there is enough clearcut evidence to tell what happened.
