I think posting and keeping this thread bumped will put a lot of pressure on him to pay. If he knows he will be known as a theif and hassled online as well as in vegas he will want to pay a lot more.

Maybe he will even make an appearance in this thread instead of being silent.

Well, I'm sure I'm not the only one in the poker community who is getting tired of the BS going on from poker sites and the likes of scammers like Eric Hardt lately. However, like others, I have no time and am too lazy to do anything about it. So I'm simply saying lets pool some money together and pay someone to take some action here.

Realistically, I don't think posting on a poker forum is going to do much towards getting the money returned. I mean it hasn't helped so far. Eric Hardt obviously doesn't care about his repulation or he'd at least be responding here to try and clear his name.

Totally disagree. I waited to get the official word from Merge to put serious heat on him but he is feeling it now. I'll see what he says in his next email but I think he realizes he is caught, it may some time and more pressure but he will pay.

You're missing the point. This thread is to expose Eric Hardt/Hambone4k as a thief and a scammer so he can't do this to anyone else. If he pays then this can all be resolved. I doubt anyone will be sending first to him but you know what I mean.

I'm sure that if civil lawsuits need to be initiated that you could get it done on contingency. Similarly, a criminal suit isn't going to take much if the facts are as aforementioned.

Needless to say it sucks but this thread is a prime example of why you need to be careful about this type of ****.

I doubt the defendant has much to give up (financially) for obvious reasons. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be pursued.

Yeah a criminal suit itself isnt gonna get OP his money back but the police being involved is gonna let the scammer know that the time for giving excuses and dodging the issue is over. Right now all thats being done is his rep is being tarnished. Paying 8k or whatever might not be worth that to him. But if paying 8k can get OP to drop criminal charges against him it might be worth the money.

I think Clamper said he initiated discussions with the local PD and DA in this matter very soon after it happened.

I don't think it matters to the police if theft/fraud was committed yesterday or a month ago. If the facts are clear to indicate such it doesn't matter at all.

In a civil suit you might be able to get a lean against future wages up to so many years. This is probably the only way you'll see anything as someone stealing money is probably already in debt to various creditors.

Statute of limitations is easily more than a month.

The more people know who this guy is the better. I guess its natural for the poker community to have scum like this running around, being that poker is full of degenerates. So only thing we can do is expose who they are and humiliate them to the best of our abilities. This will deter others from taking this path.
Its gonna be tough for him to do anything in Vegas when a huge % of people there know what he looks like, any success he has will be scrutinized heavily this way and if OP is lucky he could get paid. That being said, who knows if he will even show up in Vegas.

If I see him at any of my tables I will instantly post in this thread with my casino and table number, and of course send a PM to OP. Everyone else should do this too.

I didn't say he couldn't be charged if it happened a month ago. The problem is that when the police ask you when it happened and you try explaining it was over a month ago, they will question how serious you are for taking this long to report the incident it to them. That’s nice that Clamper may or may not have initiated discussions with the authorities, but again the police are going to question how serious you are for not reporting the incident yourself. It also makes their job incredibly more difficult to investigate something that happened yesterday vs. a month ago. Personally, I think you owe it to the poker community to report the incident immediately if you are sincerely concerned about anyone else being scammed by this piece of chit. I think the fact this scam happened on an online poker site and the only evidence of a contract or agreement took place through some PMs and an AIM conversation and you’ve now waited a month to report it means it will be an uphill battle for the police department to lay criminal charges…but I still think its worth a try. I also think the only way you will ever see any of your money returned through a civil suit is if he is first found guilty criminally.

Get his address or something, I had an issue like this some weeks ago with a guy..after minutes he scammed me for 200$ i went with a fake skype and told him i wanted to back him out and i was going to give him 10k br for stating out..so i told him to send me all his info with id copy..so i got all and then i called him to his celphone and told him i was going to go after him (He lived 100km from me) and he gave me back the 200$ and told me his brother delete me from skype after the transfer..

OP i'm starting to get frusterated with this thread, its been over 30 days since you lost 8k to SCAMbone4k whats the next move? Did you contact authorities? Did you send "tough Tony" to his house? Are you planning on doing anything? I understand giving someone the bennefit of the doubt but I would of gave him 2 weeks at most, this is over 30 days and now its just ridiculous.

I think he is waiting that this thread just dies but dont let that happen OP.

Actually I have come to enjoy logging on every morning to see what developments have come about on this thread.

We got clamper on the job, he has brought home a few other scam cases and gotten money back so there is def some hope for OP there, I guess there is some reason for clamper to remain quiet about the info he is gathering, and only use it when it becomes necessary.
